Vintage Sheet Fat Quarter & Pattern Giveaway! WINNER Announced!

Update: SUCH generous souls!! Two sets of 5 it is!!
Trisha and Ruth B
Congratulations~Love girls with email addresses!

Happy Thursday!

For today's giveaway, I'm sharing a few of my vintage-y sheet fat quarters. In fact TEN of them! I just haven't decided whether I'm going to give all ten to ONE person or split them up and give 5 to you and 5 to another.

What do you think?

I think that should be your comment!

Are you greedy? Do you want all 10?

Or are you a ......share the love, share the joy, share the fat quarters kind of gal?

Everyone's a winner today because I'm offering up this little pattern/tutorial, too.

It's a large file.....give it time.

If you still experience problems.....once you're in adobe reader,

click: file

Click: Save As ________(give it a name)

and then save to your desktop.

It should have it all to your desktop and then you can try opening it from there.

I know it's not original or earth shattering or even extra special. But we have enough quilting/piecing newbies that I wanted to try and spell out the inner workings of a triangle square. Easy cheesy.

Grab a great fabric like this and go. to. town.
I want you to know that I spent 32 seconds coming up with this name:
Cinderella: A Rags to Riches Quilt
Get it rags =(old sheets) to riches= (Beautiful finished quilt!!)

I was considering:
Sheets with a Story

and then I thought,
"Ew. That's probably not a story we'd want to be telling."

I love this book cover AND I love a brunette Cinderella.

Just wanted you to know.

I thought you might care.

If you feel the need to create this and need some sheets......
I've got a few sets in my store.

Boy, this post is all over the place. Thanks for hanging in there today.
Random Drawing tonight for Fat Quarters.
Giveaway Over. :(

I'm All for Cheating

Flag Day Farm quilt is flapping in the wind. Finished it. You don't have to oooooh & ahhh, remember it's a cheater cloth panel. Love the red.

Tried two new methods: free motion machine quilting & machine binding.

It has a cool quilt stitch design marked on the panel. For a whole two minutes, I tried to follow the design with my sewing maching. Not happening. Scary results. So I saw they had a nifty diamond straight line pattern that I could follow. That was doable for me.

It would have been gorgeous with the other quilting, but the quilt is going outside, I'm not hand quilting it.
Machine binding -- another first. Here's a tip, make sure the binding is wide enough. :-)

Maybe I like it better on the rocker.Makes me think of a hot summer day. Wish it weren't raining.
Oh, the sun will come out, tomorrow.....

New Love ~ True Love

It's true. I'm twitterpated, as a few of you referenced this word yesterday. My new love is this vintage sheet quilt. I'm working on a little tut for you because I know how you love your tuts!
It's gone from this
to this. It's big, it's quick and it's very easy.
Waiting for a spare moment to get it quilted. Trying to decide on a back. Trying to decide if I should machine quilt or tie with little white fairies all over it. Trying to decide what I should eat while I ponder these things.

Look!
We've got green grass, yes we do!
We've got green grass, how about you??!!

Giveaway~ Flock together..........WINNER!!

update: Congrats! Stacey at luv2knitnsew
Lots of new words to ponder and find good usage for.
I think we need to have a word verification comment one of these days.
Remind me, would ya?
Thanks for all the comments!
......my little birds of a feather.
After seeing this block on Rachel's post, I thought to myself,
"Self, why have you not seen this fabric before?"
Sweet Rachel hunted down the info for me.
Then I called my personal secretary and told her to get me that fabric ASAP. Well, she got mostly everything they had left of this line.
And then I woke up and realized that Corrie was the boss and it was all just a figment of my imagination except the part about Rachel and getting the fabric.
Since we are into share and share alike, we'd like you to have 4 fat quarters today.
Feathered Friends from In the Beginning Fabrics
We're covering all your bases:
Aren't they lovely, wonderful, in fact just plain.....Tweeterific!!
I think I just made that up.
Let me check my Funk & Wagnall, Mr. Webster is busy.
Nope. Not original.
I forgot the whole Twitter mania.
I hate it when I can't claim credit for wonderful words.
Oh yes....I'm feeling like comments today should be full of new and wonderful words!!!!
In the immortal words of Pat Benetar.....
Hit Me With Your Best Shot.....Fire Away.
Although, I'm not sure I used the word immortal correctly. Perhaps you might want to leave a comment in regards to grammar, usage and mechanics.
Random Drawing later tonight.
Although the random drawer is always drawn towards people with email addresses attached.
The random drawer spends zero time trying to hunt people down.
If you haven't the slightest clue of what I'm talking about, see here.
Good Luck!!

Rocking on the Porch

I've never been a cheater cloth kind of gal, but I am ready to take the plunge.

Flag Day Farm pre-printed/cheater cloth panel.

It arrived. Actually, it's been here awhile..... staring at me, waiting so patiently to get listed in the store. Good, looks like the other sellers are about sold out. See, waiting has its benefits.

It's from designers, Minick & Simpson -- they have the quilting stitches also printed on the fabric, so it's marked & ready to quilt! I am going to TRY with my little sewing machine to follow the lines & see what happens. Wish me luck.
There was a cute picture of it in the
Just a minute...
See.... Pillowcase Panache. How vintagey is that?

Look what I found in my stash for backing.... um... perfect.

Which do you like, the navy or red?
Hopefully, it will be hanging on the porch soon. I've already got the flowers to go with it.

Update: Quilt Nut, Way to Go!
Email Corrie your mailing address!
You all are a greedy bunch of gals! :)

I want clean countertops.

I want all the doors in my house painted blue, pink and yellow.

I want to sit on that chair in the corner and read my magazine.

I want my walls that color of blue.

And the walls that aren't blue, I want them to be red.
Yes, I do.

I want pinecones in a bowl and not all over my front lawn.

I want my husband to sit in that blue chair and
I will stare at him from across the clean floor for hours.
Yes, I will.
I want to be tucked into bed each night with this quilt surrounding me.

I want to accent my creative space with brown, pink and lots of white.
(Anne Sutton's workplace)

Um, this is a stretch for me because I do not want a grey cat. Already had one. He, Grey Grey, ran away and broke my heart. And the dog is just too small for me.
And so I want a nice crisp ironed white shirt hanging in my closet.

Undertaking.....

.....the thesaurus' word for project.
Well, here is my latest undertaking.
Vintage Sheets and pink!!
mmmmmm.......

Just need to get this one quilted. i'm really wondering if i should tie it with sweet little buds and keep the machine quilting money in my pocket.......mmmmmmm
It's a big quilt and I don't do big quilts on my sewing machine.

Another table runner.
I'm kind of done with those for now.
I only have 3 friends, so I can move on.

May your undertakings be as plentiful, colorful, wonderful....
but most important.....
finish-able.
