Just need to figure out what you won :-). bon nuit.
Rouenneries by french general

Makes me want to sit in sidewalk cafe' and drink it all in.

Just arrived a few hours ago.

It's listed in the eBay store & some on etsy.

"Rouenneries were the cotton prints printed in Rouen, France during the mid-18th century. The designs are based on a collection of old prints and stripes from this era."

Mais oui

Tres Belle

It's stunning. The linens are beautiful as are all of the pieces.

Today's giveaway...not sure yet, I haven't got to work with it.

It'll be my choice -- a charm pack or fat quarters or something good. Trust me.

The french general would never let you down.

Leave an uplifting comment about life in general.

Des & I were at a school meeting last night (she was actually presenting -- ideas for motivating yourself and working with children.) It's so helpful to recharge and remember why you're doing what you're doing.

Random drawing later tonight. Make sure you've got an email we can contact.

Disgusting Delectables

Vould you like some?

Nicol gave everyone at the retreat some skeletons for the road.

Easy treat for the neighbors... she found the labels at

There are all kinds, different sizes and are free to use.
Going to use this one as a candy bar wrapper.

This one would be fun with plastic fangs or candy corn.

Nicol modpodged the labels on the jars and spray painted the lids.
Not only did she bring her sewing machine to the retreat, she brought her bike.

Put us all to shame.

There goes Bat Woman....

Share the Love ~ Giveaway

Update: MiChElLe you are a winner! Congrats!
We're sewing & eating away. great combo.

No, this giveaway isn't for Amy Butler's Love fabric.

I'm headed to our annual quilt retreat. Last year,
we brought a 'kit' of some type for everyone.

This year we're bringing a 'love' gift. Something we love.

Since I have fabric, and I do love it -- they're getting material.

I love figgy pudding. I love turnovers.
A match made in heaven.

That is what they're getting.

Tasty & filling.

I'll share the recipe another day. Got to keep packing. I need clothes too.

I know I'm going to forget this... Shelto's dick & jane laminate.
I keep moving it from spot to spot. How am I going to get all of this in the car?
Nicol is driving; she's taking her bike. Hope we fit.
Giveaway is a turnover --

Leave a comment about your favorite dessert.

Random drawing later. We'll draw sometime, hope we have internet access. Loved the comment last week about leaving your email address. Please do. If we can't find an email, we draw again. Happens all of the time.

With Love, Mom

Do you remember quilting in the early 1990's??

I swear I wanted to make every quilt that Lynette Jensen, of Thimbleberrie fame, created. I wanted dark, dark, dark plaids and colors.

I wanted woodsy, homey feelings.

I just about made every quilt in this book.

This quilt was my first Thimbleberry quilt.

HAND quilted, thank you very much.

I hand quilted everything back then. I love this star in the log cabin block called Midnight Sky. I remember picking this pattern out for my son's bed. It just never quite fit his full size bed. And after all that work, I was a little nervous to have my young son living on this quilt.

So I tucked it away for another time.

Little did I know in 1995 when I finished this quilt for my son, who was then 5, that he would be taking it to California to stay warm and to be wrapped in love from one who loves him so much.

Oh dear.... I get a little emotional everytime I think of him.
I barely made it through the songs in church today.
Too much.....mother, father, daughter and son.
We miss him pretty badly.

He's doing great, though!
Thank you for your well wishes!
They mean a lot to me.

I hope this quilt comes home in 2 years....
... well used, worn and loved.

Merry Mushrooms

Home

I knew I was 'home' when I saw these fabrics.

Here's what Windham Fabrics says about the

Merry Mushroom Collection:

(I read this after I ordered it.) Am I the Mom? I still don't think I'm that old.

"Merry Mushrooms reminiscent of the 1970's hippy style of peace and love.
This line will bring back memories for mom, and younger quilters will recognize the fashion trend. We've updated the colors but left intact the organic shapes. See if you can find the hidden fairy - it's magic!"

I searched for a picture of my mushroom smock or my pants with the mushroom pockets, but no luck.

That led to my girls looking through my scrapbook.

Daughter: "Oh look, you're wearing a skirt."

"Honey, those are pants." We laughed so hard, had tears in my eyes.

"I told you we had those smocked dresses."

We saw the pre-smocked fabric at Joann's this summer, I just rolled my eyes at it, can't go there.

We've got charms, fat quarters and yardage in the store.

I can embrace mushrooms, but not the smocked fabric,

plaid shirts and argyle sweaters...yet.

Orange Cheer

I think these were meant to cheer me up.
....Orange Daisies....
Funky & Fall.
I've had 3 out of 4 kids with the flu.
Car broke down in front of the library.
Husband has been out chasing Bambi.
I'm not at Quilt Market.
But I finished a tablerunner.
It's Spooktacular... in my etsy shop.

This also cheers me up... no legos, no "Break the Ice" cubes, no books, no laptop cords strung all over. Ahhh, let's just look at it. Nice. I'm happy.

Have a good weekend.
I'll see you in the medicine aisle.
