Labels

No more laborious labels for me!
They were a labor of love.
But the love has waned.

I want quick.
I want easy.
Etsy to the rescue.
I found these labels offered here
I like that I can just sew it into my binding.
(which I totally forgot on this first quilt and
had to hand do it all after the fact!)

I've had my cute, little girl logo for
a few years and she was ready
to go big time!
I will add the year's date once
I get a new writing pen for this purpose.
I'll put it right under DES.
DES 2011.

Now that is a labor of love.

Pink Trip Pattern

Take a trip with me!
A Pink trip!
A Pink scrappy vintage sheet trip!

I love pairing a great fabric with the
vintage look and feel of bed sheets.

Way back when, I made this gem.
Then I jumped on the Leaders and Enders bandwagon.
I saw Bonnie's idea for her Scrappy Trip Around the World
and I knew exactly what I wanted to do!
It's been waiting patiently
by the sewing machine for me to sew it together,
in between other projects.

Yummy flannel backing here!

I've written up how I did it
and applied Bonnie's idea.
Get the PDF here
You'll need to visit her page
to see how to put the block together.
I think it's brilliant and I loved making this quilt.
Bonnie has made her block with 6 rows.
I did 5 rows.

So join me on this trip.
No jet lag.
No x-ray scans.
No annoying tray in your lap
when the fellow in front of you
decides to stretch out.

do. Good Stitches~May

 A little string quilting.
Have never made a string block before.
Hmmm...i wonder if it should be more string-y?
It was the block for May's do. good stitches.
Kelsey wanted orange/blue and yellow/blue blocks.

Didn't love sewing on the paper.
It's a beast to take off.
But I am loving the finished product.
And I have paaahhlenty of strips to start my own quilt.

And I totally need another project to start!
Right?

Beauty in the Eye of the Beholder

Salt Lake is beautiful in the Spring.
Corrie and I are beautiful in the Spring.
Even if I did my best David Cassidy hair-do.

Kona Solids are beautiful in the Spring.

Friends are beautiful in the Spring.
I bet England is beautiful in the Spring.

Machine quilting is beautiful in the Spring.
I'm so excited to try out my new finger tips!

Fabric that matches your shirt
is beautiful in the spring.

Thimbleanna and I are beautiful in the spring
but wow, check out the quilt behind us!

Corrie is beautiful in the spring when she looks at fabric.
She's even more beautiful when she buys it!

Corrie did her best to pull out her camera on occasion.
More photos here.
All and all...
Spring Quilt Market was a beautiful thing!

Pink All Around

For several years, the Material Girls group

has made and donated a quilt for a local cancer auction.

So this year, Rachel & Lori challenged us to make this block.

I was ready & willing to try it

because....

Lori cut & gave us all of the white pieces.

The group swapped all of the pink wedges. And she showed us step by step how to do it!

Comfortstitching shows you step by step too

but Lori used Tombow glue, (which we now have available) not pins.
I want to be just like her,

so had to use the same glue,

even though I'm sure I have

fabric glue somewhere.

Just glue right at the edge & press with your fingers &

then just a little with your iron & it sticks.

No bunching, no pins, it magically

stays together super smooth to sew.

I've used glue sticks before but not on curves,

didn't know it was this easy.

I'm ready to tackle more.

Look what they created last year for the auction.

Rachel makes sure this happens each year.

She did the quilting on this one

and attends the auctions.

~

Look at the back!

Do you use glue?

Do you like it?
