Christmas for Corrie

My best idea for gift giving is the old adage
"Give something you would want."
I may or may not have just made that up.
Corrie didn't know it, but she wanted a sewing machine cover.
Needs to keep the machine cozy and dust free.

I've had these leftover triangle squares calling my name for ages.
They come from this quilt

I may have a few leftover so that I can
"give something you would want"
to myself.
I like to make gift giving as much about me as possible.
Hope your Holidays were filled with gifts
love and joy.

do.good for December

Another do.good stitches finish for the year.
This is the December block.
It's paper pieced.
I like the graphic nature of this block.
Here's the inspiration quilt for it.
I think it's going to be amazing.

If you like the modern quilt style
and would like to join this group,
there is a waiting list.

We are in groups and each group
has a certain charity that they give the quilts to.

It's fun to try out new blocks each month
and know they are going to someone in need.

Who Doesn't Love A Gift All About Them?

Hmmm, maybe I should have made one for my sister.

I have to tell you about this company, papercoterie.

I'm so thrilled
with what I received.
Super fast shipping too.
(I ordered on a Thursday night & had it on Tuesday.)

They have great gift ideas:
journals, calendars, swatchbooks & more.

I gave the swatchbooks a try for my boys.
I made a top 10 list of things about Harry.
I started with him as
baby on page one,
and there's a family picture, etc...
And then a top 10 list of things we love about
Shadowman.
Some are funny.
I think he'll get a kick out of it.
And you can have a lot of text on the back of
each card in the swatchbook too.
Pretty slick.

It eases my lack of scrapbooking guilt a little.
It's a mini book all about them.
They can tuck it in a drawer &
pull it out whenever they want.
~

Lizzie's been asking for a journal &
purple's her favorite color. Easy.
(top photo)

AND
papercoterie is having this incredible offer through
the end of this month (I double checked).
You could get a jump on Valentine's Day or a birthday.
Their prices are great to begin with,
and $30 buys a lot.

Neighborhood

It always feels good to get a 'work in progress' quilt done and out of the UFO pile!!
Merry Christmas to our wonderful friends who have the best home in town.
Their home is cozy and inviting.
I thought this quilt would be the perfect Thank You/Christmas present.
I've been waiting and waiting for a decent day to take pictures.
But dead sunflowers will just have to do.
It's so nice to have a tall photo assistant again!
