It's Graduation Day!

Ready or not.
It's here.

My little brunette baby
she grew
into a tiny
spitfire blond.

Blue eyes, beautiful straight hair
that I could comb forever, and
she never fussed when I pulled too hard.
(yeah, that's a dig at my oldest :)

She's always been so dependable,
honest, and on the ball.
She's witty and
fun to be with.

She's always been so kind and
 complimentary to me.

When shopping for clothes,
she is always so nice about how items look on me.
I will forever appreciate her tact.

I know she's prepared for life
 and ready to go on.
Does this ever get easier,
watching your children
walk out the door?

We've had a really sweet week
with wedding receptions,
 Memorial Day potluck,
and her graduation.
It's so good to be with family.

We made some yummy
grad caps for everyone.

This young woman
 is ready to fly.

We love her and are
so excited for her

Well done, honey.

Adding Words to Your Quilt Back

I was totally inspired by this beautiful sentiment on this quilt.
You could say that I fell in LOVE.
I went to visit my trusty, overachiever OhFransson
for excellent information.
Full tutorial info here

I decided I didn't want to do
all the piecing on the back.

So I went with the same concept but just using
the quilt back as my 'block', if you will.

I wanted chunky, cursive, LOVE.
I added the 'i' so i could get the curve on the 'l'.

I used the Pacifico font found here for free,
put it in Word at about a 500 size.

I worked with heat and bond to fuse to my backing.

You work with the words backward.
Tracing onto the heat and bond.

Be sure to adhere the heat and bond to the
WRONG side of fabric.

Zig Zagged around the letters

and then reinforced with machine quilting

once I quilted the whole thing.

Really easy and very satisfying.
Isn't that what love is all about.....
