Hopefully the poor thing pulled through. You and the runner!

By the way, can I make a small request? Can you update the giveaway posts when you do a video with the winner in print? Us dial-up types never get the punch line... it's very sad. Now let me tell you this is all flannel fabric...now umm I hadn't been told to NOT use flannel fabric for a quilt...so I get it all, wash it, iron it and start cutting squares....so proud of myself...then I lay it all out on my floor, make up my own design...weee...then I sew and well the rows went together well, but umm sewing the rows together...I don't think ONE DAMN SEAM matches...which I didn't notice till the end...but hey the kid is 4 he won't realize it...but still it looked odd, so hmm my bright idea...let's add a border...what would be cool...how about DENIM...yes it is bordered in Denim..well ok so it's done...i could take it out...but I am NOT one with my seam ripper...so I go onto the backing...I have one HUGE piece of flannel with superman on it...ok let's border it too...with what else but DENIM...hmmmm now what...now way in hell I am gonna find someone to quilt this for me as my little cheapo brother sewing machine sure the heck won't be able to handle it...then hmm hand quilt it...nope not me...how about tieing it like the one my gma made me...well needless to say these two pieces are still haning over the back of my sewing chair...and I finished them in Nov...will full intention of gettin it done for christmas. So have a laugh at a novice quilter...needless to say I am currently taking an actual quilt class to learn what I really should and shouldn't do....whew. Hope that brightens your dayMirandahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15805932290377435701noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6354778152505693948.post-33963669818225452742009-03-24T21:25:00.000-06:002009-03-24T21:25:00.000-06:00Pick it apart and burn the batting!!! My dad was at the airport this morning & a man in some nice khakis came to sit by him. Dad told him not to sit there & he'd be right back. The guy ignored him and sat in bird poop. A friend of mine's 2nd grader showed his mom his alcohol, drug, and tobacco pledge card that he pledged not to do those things and she was like "great job, so you're not going to do those things, right" and he was like "I don't know about the tobacco mom." and she said "WHAT" and he was like "I just love the taste of it" and she was like "WHAT" and he said "I love putting it all over my food" and by now she's about to call his teacher and then realized that he loves TABASCO not tobacco. True story just told to me today. :) 2nd, I'm so sorry about your table runner. 3rd, I WANT your scraps! So I hope I made you laugh so hard TABASCO came out of your nose. The only bad thing is if I do win it will look like a set up lol. You're hilarious. I also did a table runner that ended up wavy on the edges, what causes that? I can't remember what batting I used though. I hate the puffy stuff now though (I did my first two quilts with it and never again!) and I always stock up on warm and natural whenever it's on sale at the fabric store. I commend you for seam ripping, and saving the fabric, even though some think that $2.00 isn't worth it, you still paid something for it. That's why they call them "scraps" right?? Hope you have fun ripping, pretend you are creating instead of destroying, have a hot cup of coffee or a glass of wine and make it a relaxing event, maybe watch Mama Mia while doing it. How can it seem so bad when singing along to Abba? lol Turn your lemons into lemonade?! If I do win I might have to purchase some of that polka dot fabric though, thanks for another fantastic giveaway!! ;)Rosehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00662085097517296000noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6354778152505693948.post-58465750048183329422009-03-24T20:36:00.001-06:002009-03-24T20:36:00.001-06:00My day by Amy - Someone left a half full can of co...My day by Amy - Someone left a half full can of coke on the seat at the train station and I'm walking around with 3 kilos of toyfill. There's no casual way to walk around with 3 kilos of toyfill. Particularly if you're 4'10". So I sit down and knock over said can of coke. Truly a bummer, but not for me. It's a bummer for the poor old nanna sitting next to me wearing white pants. And I'm sitting there feeling like an idiot trying to apologize when some guy knocks over my toyfill and it nearly falls off the platform onto the tracks. I have visions of the train smashing into polyfill at full speed. Can you imagine the snow shower it would create. Luckily, it was saved at the last moment. Ugh! I’m in downer mode as well – We went from a warm & sunny 80 degree vacation weekend to snow and freezing temps with more snow on the way. Total BUMMER! As for the throwing up part, my daughter accidently flushed her favorite little pegasus toy down the toilet, so my hubby had to spend today (the last day of his vacation) taking our toilet apart and fishing out some of the foulest treasures ever. She wanted us to clean it up and keep it – totally NASTY & definitely not happening!

BTW, Cute baby shower quilt.Hideaway Girlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07271171754870675580noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6354778152505693948.post-90581660903134301592009-03-24T20:17:00.000-06:002009-03-24T20:17:00.000-06:00I was going to leave you a comment to entertain yo...I was going to leave you a comment to entertain you as you unpick, BUT, I can't think of a thing to say. She then put it in her hair, on her clothes, arms and legs as well as her bed. After that she walked back downstairs spreading the peanut butter throughout the house. I gave her a shower which she hates and once we were in it, she told me that I was right, showers are great! She ended up staying in there for 20 minutes, some of it on her own because she needed her privacy!
