Have a Ball Wednesdays!!

Wednesday was my first official day of Humanitarian Goodness! I decided that children around the world needed cute homemade toys. I saw this darling pattern on Grand Revivals blog and the rest is history. 10 good women showed up at church for sewing, stuffing, potluck and good conversation. We decided that these balls were worthy of 2 jingles. One jingle bell just wasn't cutting it. Some of the ladies wondered if kids would really play with these. I said, "Are you kidding me? My 17 yr. old and 9 yr. old were entertained with them for an hour!" They were using them like hacky sacks! They're soft so there were no tears when the play turned to dodge ball. It was awesome. I was very proud of my little funky balls! I can't wait for Leap Frog Wednesdays!

  3. Thanks for linking to the pattern. I remember seeing before but forgot about it. When you put the jingles in, do you put them in something first so they retain their sound or do you just put them in the batting?

  4. Jingle bells are a trick sometimes. I do just stick them in. The jingle isn't as 'bright' as you might wish, but it's still there. That's why we do the 2 jingles. :) I do a pretty large jingle bell, too. Actually, it just depends on what I find on clearance after Christmas. :)
