I would have killed for these as a child!

Must be the endless palette of brown all around me in Idaho but when I saw this picture in a catalog Corrie sent, I wanted to go deep sea diving. We used to swim for HOURS on end and I remember Annette W. and I playing mermaid and Wicked Witch of the sea until our fingers were withered and worn from the water and rough bottom of the pool. And THEN, I see these (fins) and thought my wonderful childhood just wasn't as wonderful as I remember. Hello?? Could we have totally transformed right there in the water?? Remember, this was way before the days of Ariel and Sebastion. Unfortunately, I've forgotten the Hans Christian Andersen stories I'm just SURE my mother read to me.......I wonder if there was a Brady Bunch Episode on mermaids............................hmmmm. Oh, the first 7 pages of this catalog are devoted to WATER! Did you see the CROCHETED necklaces with an itty bitty turtle or octopus??? Okay, you amigurumi wizes out there, GET ME THAT PATTERN. Scary thing is...................I would totally wear this. WITH PRIDE. Okay, back to dirty piles of snow.

  1. Totally cute! I remember me and my sister would take our dad's socks and shove both feet into one sock...thus making the "perfect" mermaid feet. When "The Little Mermaid" first came out it was instantly my favorite! Thanks for the cute pics and the memory reminder!
