Dinner Anyone?

What can we serve you in our new aprons? I need to get brownies out of the oven, just a minute...

These are two of the fabulous kits we received at the retreat. Leela came up with aprons for everyone out of their favorite fabrics. I think she was taking notes (or purchasing) when they went on their shop hop together.
She showed us how to hook the towel into the waistband -- so it's easy to wipe your hands when you're making "french toast with brie & caramel pecan syrup" (just one of the delicious meals we had. These women can cook.)

Do your oven mitts look like this? Mine don't, but they do NOW! Thanks Shelto. Shelly so nicely demonstrated how to make them by making mine. Since I can't wear ruffle pants

out of the Farmers Market fabric, I'll be happy with my hot mitt! We'll have a Shelly tutorial later. So easy, I made the Amy Butler one below. Shelly had lots of fabric kits made up for us to choose from.

Then I spent the rest of the time....churning & churning....my favorite block. I have a thing for churn dashes, not sure why. I wonder how many I made. (52)

These are out of Simplicity fabric -- someday I think they'll grow up to be a king size quilt or not. :-)

  4. I love those churn dash blocks. In my way of thinking, (this is what I aim for with limited time )just make enough for a baby or lap quilt and move on. Life is too short...

  13. I love the aprons! I've always thought that there should be a towell attached to aprons. I even ordered an apron from Etsy and asked the lady to put a loop on it for a towell.

    So cute!
