Exploring My Options

I am thinking about Halloween tonight...
There are Boo to You charm squares everywhere.
Awfully cute! Would make a fun tablerunner and treat bags.
~

Just read all of Moda Bakeshop,

because I remembered this pattern.

I want a pattern that showcases my new obsession (the Ghastlies)....

you know, I thought I liked the grey, but I'm really liking the orange (just arrived).

This is Des' big print party pattern -- it might be just the one.

I've been hoarding a little Alexander Henry Halloween.

But I don't think they go with my new love...

What to do, what to do??

Do you know of a pattern that really shows-off a main fabric?

  1. Maybe the Dutch Windmill pattern in the "Quilt" #112 - June/July (it's a magazine)...I just did a quilt in this pattern, which every other block is solid fabric, so you could fussy cut to show case different scenes in the fabric....(I posted mine up earlier today if you want to see what I'm talking about)

  2. I recommend Hyde Park in Super Simple Fat Quarter Quilts by Lynda Milligan and Nancy Smith. The cenrer of the quilt is a single piece of fabric about 36" by 45" and it is surrounded by a pieced border of 2" (finished size) squares. I can see that large Ghastlies print surrounded by a pieced border of smaller prints in a mix of Halloween colors.

  3. That orange background one is adorable! I'm not really into halloween, but that fabric is fun.

  4. I think it would be really cute in the free My friend Maisy pattern at the Fat Quarter shop. You could do the red blocks with the black and the blue blocks with the orange. HHMM I am really liking this idea.

  5. I don't know about quilt patterns but have you seen the Hallographix line? It's from In the Beginning and would look great with the Ghastlies.

  6. Maybe Le Petite Salon by Tula Pink. It has a spot in the middle and for the border for a focus fabric.

  7. I am wanting to use Ghastlies in Posh Tot for a friend. Very simple and a great quilt to show off the main fabric. Do you have the whole set of Ghastlies?

  8. I just made a baby quilt (well turned into two baby quilts) but the request was for map fabric..so I wanted to showcase the fabric and not cut it up. I found a super simple baby quilt pattern in Alex Anderson's book "Start Quilting" all it is is a large square of fabric with a border surrounded by flying geese...turns out cute. You can see mine on my blog if you like!

  9. I LOVE that green in the Boo to You line! I might have to get some. How many Halloween quilts are too many? Because I may be pushing the limit. I have an awful lot of Halloween quilts around here.

  10. I made a halloween quilt a few years ago (bought some of the fabric from you guys) I used the "just can't cut it" pattern from all washed up...it was perfect for those sihloettes of the kids and the cute vintage print too (both of which are in my quiltie)
