A New Favorite Giveaway Over

Update: Congrats to Nancy #115!!
Last year, it was
(which we adore, but we've added a new friend).
This year,
we're making
The pattern is from Marie Madeline Studio.
"This classy full apron is a must...not only feminine and flattering but also practical...our chic sisters apron features a lined bib, extra long ties, and a sweet flounced hem."
It's easy, easy.
The apron bib has darts
"to add shape".
The flounced ruffle is done without gathering.
Just gives a little softness --
a little poof without being poofy.

Our models are wearing
Tea Garden and Kumari Garden.
Yardage available.

The pattern has full size pattern pieces and multiple sizes --
small 2,4,6; medium 8,10,12; and large 14,16,18.
Pattern available on etsy.
Kits available upon request.

For our giveaway today --
it will be 2 half yards of fabric -- your choice
(Of course fabrics that I'm hoarding are off-limits. We'll talk.)

  15. Lovely aprons!
about cooking: the best compliment I ever received when one of the residents from the shelter where I work said to another worker: ""who's on today?" "Irina" "oh...! there's always something nice for dinner when she's on"
it was so lovely to hear that!
I love cooking because I love eating!!!
    thanks for the chance!

  16. I don't particularly enjoy cooking, but as we have to eat I do it. But what really bugs me is deciding what to cook. If I know what I am doing that's have the battle. Do I get help on this...nope.... Our conversations go like this "what do you want for dinner" "don't know".."give me a clue" "whatever you want to cook" "okay chicken", "oh no don't fancy chicken"..."okay fish"... "no don't fancy fish"..."URGH....well give me a dam clue then!!!" The aprons are lovely thanks for a chance to win.

  19. What an adorable apron that I'd love to make for my daughter!

Cooking? Well, yesterday I made chicken and rice soup...and yummy...it was good! I boiled a fryer, picked pieces off the bones (I hate this part), then added broth, carrot, celery and onion to boil. I seasoned to taste and about 1/2 hour before serving, added in some brown rice. =)

Thanks for a chance to win!

  24. One of my daughters is back from college and she loves to bake and must wear an apron when she does. Very cute apron. I keep putting recipes into a file to try. Have tried a few but most of the time, it's a rush to make dinner for everyone before the evening activities.

  35. Cooking is not my favorite thing, but it does have to get done.My hubby is actually a better cook than I am, probably because he finds it relaxing. Where I find it one more thing to be done. After all there is plenty of hungry people around here.
One thing that I did try recently that was a big hit was, sasauge tortorni soup. I found it on the best bites blog. It's worth checking out.

  36. Cooking, is that where you put pots/pans together and put food in them and cook on high heat? Thats what I do? I've never been a kitchen lover! Thank goodness my DH loves to cook and my DD loves to bake!
That way, Momma can spend more time in the sewing room!

    ReplyDelete
  37. Cooking is so much fun, well maybe it is baking that I like a little bit more than cooking. I have been busy this week. New York style cheesecake, homemade pizza, lemon meringue pie, pulled pork sandwhiches, red velvet cake and corn bread with red peppers for a few.

    ReplyDelete
  38. I like cooking but I love quilting so much better. All your hard work doesn't get destroyed in a matter of minutes. :)

  41. I love to cook, especially trying new recipes. I especially enjoy baking and allrecipes.com is one of my favorite internet sites for new recipes. Thanks for the giveaway!

  42. I've been accused of being obsessed with cooking because of all the time I spend looking at recipes and talking about food. Yesterday, I made some awesome chili- my own recipe that I've been perfecting for about a year now. Now, if only some gnomes would come clean the dishes for me...

    ReplyDelete
  43. Cooling? Love it? Hate it? Some days I want to be Julia Childs...other days, not so much! LOL I managed restaurants in high school and college and cooked a lot then...I don't enjoy it now because of that I think. Plus, when my kids were little, bland was in! All the recipes I tried, all the spices I threw away from sitting in a cupboard too long....too hot, too spicy, too something all the time for little taste buds.

    PBJ's rock!

  44. I just burnt my finger 2 minutes ago on the oven. I shouldn't cook when I am pregnant, I only have half of my brain to use :)

    ReplyDelete
  45. Over the years I definitely have some family favourites. Tonight I'm making Greek Ribs because our boys are home for a few days and its their favorite. And those aprons are adorable!

  46. In one of my past lives, I loved to find new recipes and make them for my friends and neighbors. In this life as a wife, mother and full-time teacher, I don't have time to think let alone find new recipes! Fortunately, my husband and son have a few favorites that I repeat often. I love your aprons--I wear one every day at school--handy to hold supplies, keys, ID badge, etc. A new pattern and fabric might get us through the rest of this dull, depressing winter--thanks for the giveaway!

    ReplyDelete
  47. I don't mind cooking when I can go buy all the ingredients for a meal, but I hate the kind of cooking where you go, "Okay, I have hamburger and cornmeal. What can I make out of that?" Truthfully, I know it's unhealthy for my kids to eat the school lunches, but the idea of making 7 lunches every day just makes me crazy. I'd DEFINITELY rather quilt than cook. Personal chef, please. I'd like it to be Curtis Stone.

    ReplyDelete
  48. I like cooking but I have a spouse who doesn't care what he eats and prefers leftovers (no cooking mess). When I'm in the groove with a project, it makes dinner easy, but most of the time it takes away from the fun of cooking.

  49. The older I get, the more I enjoy cooking. Thanks for the chance!

  50. Love to bake - cooking not so much. Cook the same old same olds for a fussy DH who won't eat beef or pork and expects miracles out of ground turkey. Love the aprons and thanks for a chance.

  61. i have not been cooking as much lately, because whenever i do, my youngest likes to hang out around my ankles, and that becomes quite the olympic event! but when i'm trying to not kill my youngest my dropping knives or spilling boiling water on her, i actually really enjoy cooking! here's hoping this phase is over soon!!

    ReplyDelete

  64. I love the idea of the darts in the apron. Your models are darling and seemed to be enjoying their job.

I have always enjoyed cooking and have encouraged my kids to participate. They all cook now and two of them own restaurants.

  65. OK, chickie, I LOVE sewing, but is it just me? I HATE cooking!!! My mom's motto in the kitchen is "I boil a mean pot of water". She's not a very good cook. And I would rather clean toilets than cook. Is that weird? My husband cooks most of the time (hot dogs, pizza, chicken nuggets), but if I cook it's stuff that's yummy and healthy, then nobody will eat it but me. Bummer. All that work for nothing - then I have to clean up! :)Caren

  66. I took a day of vacation yesterday and did NOT have to cook all day. A friend and I went to lunch at Uncle Ernie's (Panama City, FL) and ate the most amazing crab cakes! I'm still stuffed! And, that is my cooking story ofthe week! Happy quilting!

  75. Cooking is usually a pleasure but at times I wish mealtime wouldn't roll around quite so quickly. Have your ever figured out how much of the day is spent in meal preparation and cleanup? It's staggering and really cuts into my sewing time!

    ReplyDelete
  76. Cooking is a pleasure for me about half the time. The other half of the time it is a chore. Right now I am enjoying making soups and comfort food while the weather is what we call cold. Probably not that cold for people in say, Idaho. But cold for us in the desert.

I love cooking... and baking... and eating...

  102. I'm not as much interested in cooking as I used to be. I've better things to do, like making quilts, knitting, x-stitching, etc. However, I subscribe to a blog called Kalyns Kitchen and her recipes (based on the South Beach diet) are great. Easy to prepare with lots of photos and good instructions. The recipes that I have made have all turned out wonderfully.
