  10. Today is my mama's birthday. She went to heaven in 1997. I owe everything I learned about sewing to her. She taught me to make doll clothes and piece quilt tops as a kid. She would be amazed to see all of the beautiful quilts these days. She used scraps people gave her, and only bought the cheapest of materials, but she still ended up with pretty quilts.

  174. Here's something random and funny. My little black dog hates the brown truck. He just spotted the UPS truck pass by our house and got very upset. The other dog was thinking, no Mr. brown Truck don't come here, I'll get bombed (which is true, lol).

  175. Love the solids. And I love how you used the word groovy. I used to (retired in May) throw that word in every once in a while with my high school students. I'd say, "Have a groovy day" when they were leaving. It always freaked them out.

I just bought some kona grey solid day before yesterday...I have been dragging my feet about it, but I'm seeing so many quilts done with solids I'm getting use to the idea...grey seems to be the new neutral.

  186. Today was my first day at the gym after about a year and an additional 20 or so pounds. Just the "fitness evaluation" knocked me out for the rest of the day. Jeez, it's going to be a long ride to lose 45 lbs. The good thing is the jacuzzi and pool are awesome! O
