Some Like It Hot

Just a little stitching.

I love a good portable hand project.

Wanted to make some hotpads for a friend.

Traced the images with a blue washable marker

off of this Suburbia fabric.

What do you like to use for tracing on fabric?

I put in a layer of warm & natural batting &

a layer of insulated batting.

Osnaburg is my favorite fabric for stitching.

I like how it looks,

it's more durable,

and it's especially good for kids,

because you can't see through it

(to see all the thread traveling that happens on the back.)

I hope these get used,

because I want to make more.

  9. You are always making the cutest things! I love this and you know how I love embroidery. :) I use different things to trace - sometimes blue washable, sometimes a red permanent pen when it's red work I'm doing, sometimes a pencil. Different things for different pieces. blessings, marlene

  13. Those are adorable! I agree about portable projects. I started an English Paper Piece project this week. I love that if I go anyplace (not that I do), I can take it with me.

  14. Your hotpads are simply adorable. I love your stitching. The invisible pen is what I would use and the osnaburg is a great choice that I would not have thought of using. Super cute and you will definitely be making more of these. Weekend bliss to you...

  15. Those came out really nice, love your idea of tracing from designs. I use a lot from free designs on the web, will have to look for some kitchen designs.
