Quick Finish

I have been wanting to
make these
f o r e v e r.

I guess getting around to the project
wasn't quick,
but they really are pretty easy.

It's Cotton Way's
 pattern.

How much do I love the design
on the top mat?
So so darling!

But that seemed like a bit of work
and
I probably wouldn't
let anyone use them.

I want to
use them.

So I went with just
 the squares.
I was a little intimidated by the scallops,
but shouldn't have been.

Mine are made out of Miss Kate
You can make 4 placemats out
of one 5" charm pack
 plus the border fabric.

Did some top-stitching
it gives it some pop!
Experimenting with Prescenia thread, here.

Excited to use them!

I keep telling myself,
I can always make more...should they
get stained, right?

Right.

  1. So cute! I love that scalloped border, but it does seem a bit scary. I'm glad you said it wasn't, so now I may just try it.

    1. It wasn't bad. I clipped around all the curves & used my Purple Thang to push them out.

  3. Nice to know you can get four out of one charm pack. I have red dishes that would look great with those!

  5. These are adorable. Did you use regular quilt batting? And I'd guess after washing/drying they'd have to be ironed to flatten them again?

    1. I used warm & natural. Yes, I think I'll have to iron each time. We'll see...

How about double sided placemats, so you could do themed placemats together?
