I have been wanting to
make these
f o r e v e r.
I guess getting around to the project
wasn't quick,
but they really are pretty easy.
It's Cotton Way's
pattern.
How much do I love the design
on the top mat?
So so darling!
But that seemed like a bit of work
and
I probably wouldn't
let anyone use them.
I want to
use them.
So I went with just
the squares.
I was a little intimidated by the scallops,
but shouldn't have been.
Mine are made out of Miss Kate.
You can make 4 placemats out
of one 5" charm pack
plus the border fabric.
Did some top-stitching
with Prescenia thread,
it gives it some pop!
Experimenting with Prescenia thread, here.
Excited to use them!
I keep telling myself,
I can always make more...should they
get stained, right?
Right.
So cute! I love that scalloped border, but it does seem a bit scary. I'm glad you said it wasn't, so now I may just try it.
ReplyDeleteIt wasn't bad. I clipped around all the curves & used my Purple Thang to push them out.
DeleteThose are great! I love the scallops around the edge too. What a pretty table you will have!
ReplyDeleteNice to know you can get four out of one charm pack. I have red dishes that would look great with those!
ReplyDeleteyou really do like red in the kitchen. they are very pretty.
ReplyDeleteThese are adorable. Did you use regular quilt batting? And I'd guess after washing/drying they'd have to be ironed to flatten them again?
ReplyDeleteI used warm & natural. Yes, I think I'll have to iron each time. We'll see...
DeleteWhat about spraying them with Scotchguard?
ReplyDeleteI don't know. I will look it up. Thanks!
DeleteSo cute!! Can't wait to make some. I'm thinking seasonal!!
ReplyDeleteRight! Cute! [hope they match that future red feature shh]
ReplyDeleteYes, you can make more..these are adorable
ReplyDeleteThose are super cute placemats! I love them!
ReplyDeleteThey are fab!!
ReplyDeleteHow about double sided placemats, so you could do themed placemats together?
So, so cute! I've had my little eye on that pattern, too, but was a bit intimidated with the scalloped edge. Just might have to try them! Yours are darling!
ReplyDeleteCorrie, they're so sweet! Glad I scrolled down ! I think I'd like to make these!
