A Birthday Poem ~ Rough Draft

Birthdays come but once a year. It's been FORTY years now, I won't tell anyone.

Sometimes I even shed a tear, from the memories of you borrowing my clothes

because of you, you're such a dear. Dear Mom, I wish I was an only child

As a teen you were a pain in the rear. I know it must be hard to have a perfect older sister.

You always wished you had a bigger brassiere *insert picture*

But now you've got yourself in gear after watching my example

As your older sister, you need not fear because I know everything

For you, I will always be near. much to the dismay of your husband

May you enjoy your life at FORTY years. Can you say Clairol?

I love you! It doesn't rhyme. Think of better ending.

  6. Corrie. For heaven's sake when did you get to be my age? I can't stand that my children's babysitter is 40. I love the picture on the old 25th street. Those were the days. Remember when you came over and asked me how to make orange juice. I thought you were hopeless and now you are so talented and beautiful and wonderful. Look how well I did with you.:) Now your sister, that's another story. Love you.

  15. Sisters are wonderful and I don't know what I'd do without mine. I love this sister quote.
"She is your mirror, shining back at you with a world of possibilities. She is your witness, who sees you at your worst and best, and loves you anyway. She is your partner in crime, your midnight companion, someone who knows when you are smiling, even in the dark. She is your teacher, your defense attorney, your personal press agent, even your shrink.." ~Barbara Alpert
    Happy big birthday, Corrie!"
