The color butter to remind us of the soft food that we spread on bread or put in the cake to make it extra special?
ReplyDeleteButter is Better!
ReplyDeleteSo that image of the little boy in swim trunks...are those images really that big on the Whimsy print? It doesn't appear so on the pieces in the rest of the post. Hmmmmm. I love me some Whimsy though.
BTW-I bought a pound of butter today. Unsalted. For baking.
Real unsalted butter melting on toasted hot cross buns at easter (this is UK, do you have those at easter in the US too?.

Thanks for the giveaway!
Love the look of that fabric!
ReplyDeleteI made my own butter last week; had some leftover cream that I wasnt going to use otherwise, so I wizzed it till it turned into butter and buttermilk. Made the milk into pancakes and cooked them using the butter :-)
I Love the soft yellow color of butter, love this fabric line! nothing better than a home baked loaf of bread with butter melting on top ;)
ReplyDeletemay have to bake some bread today during our latest snow storm out here on the east coast....

I love cutting little cubes of butter and tossing it into a pan of cornbread batter right before I stick it in the oven. When the cornbread's finished baking, you can taste little explosions of butter awesomeness as you eat it! Yummers!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for the giveaway! =D
Those fabrics are gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteAnd there's nothing better than a warm bread with butter in the morning...
Thanks a lot for the chance.
My mother always used margarine, but now that I am trying to eat more "naturally" I use butter, and boy oh boy, can you tell a difference! Especially on warm homemade bread!
ReplyDeleteMmm, butter! It isn't something that I can eat anymore, unfortunately. But, my fondest memories are of wonderful breads and yummy butter at every meal during a trip to Germany! YUM.
ReplyDeleteSuch cute prints!
ReplyDeleteAs for butter, I actually believe that butter from cows that have eaten grass and not wheat is actually good for you! No, really! It's high in vitamin k which tells your body where to put the calcium you eat. So, find pastured butter and eat up!
Butter? Every day, at breakfast, on toasts!
ReplyDeleteButter - melting on a stack of pancakes for breakfast. Must go make some now. Thanks for the chance in your yummy giveaway.
ReplyDeleteWe love butter so much we have to allocate funds for it in the monthly budget! Lynne
ReplyDeleteMy husband's cousin used to eat butter all by itself when she was a toddler. Her mother took her grocery shopping and turned away for a moment, and when she turned back Trisha had opened a pack of butter, unwrapped a stick, and was eating it like a lollipop.
ReplyDeleteEw.
Have you ever made Paula Deen's Double Chocolate Gooey Butter Cake? If not, you should probably do it right now. Be forewarned...it is pretty much irresistible!
ReplyDeleteI soooo agree with Julie in the movie "Julie and Julia"..."is there anything better than butter?" I love to cook with it and just spread it on fresh toast! YUM! Thanks so much for this wonderful givaway! Polly :-)
ReplyDeleteKids love to make butter. Put heavy cream in a baby food jar and let them shake it till there's butter. Then spread it on warm toast or muffins. Yummy!
ReplyDeleteButter is like sugar - "it helps the medicine go down ... in the most delightful way".
ReplyDeleteI think I could use butter on just about everything. Real butter not margarine! My favorite has to be warm yeast rolls right out of the oven!
ReplyDeleteI couldn't wait to see what the subject was going to be! I don't eat too much butter anymore but I remember being in the kitchen with my mother at dinner time when I was about 4. She had set the table and I walked by and lifted the stick of butter off the plate and took a bite! Delicious!
ReplyDeleteWhen we go out to eat, I love to put butter the bread that usually comes with the meal .... it is soooo good!
ReplyDeleteNancy E

ReplyDeleteGot to have butter on my fresh sweet corn.
ReplyDeletebeccaabug
My favorite butter accessory is the butter bell crock. Spreadable butter available at all times, no more tearing your toast with cold butter! My mom got one ages ago, and it is now a must-have. :-)
ReplyDeleteEverything's better with more butter on it!!!!
ReplyDeleteI could not be more excited about this giveaway. I have been coveting this fabric line.
ReplyDeleteButter -- I always use real butter in everything, even baking -- especially baking. My MIL says that you can't really taste the difference, so she uses margarine in her baking. I, however, can taste the difference, see the difference in texture too. So I always use butter. Hmm. Now I'm going to have to bake something.
Guess where our butter is kept? in an empty marshmallow cream jar! My daughter takes 2 softened sticks of butter and mixes them with olive oil (to cut the fat--I'm not sure of the ratio) and then puts the butter in the jar in the fridge to firm up. When we take it out to use on homemade bread, it's very spreadable (unlike a hard regular stick from the fridge). We love butter this way and feel it's even healthier for us.
ReplyDeleteI am loving that nice soothing aqua! oh and I love that you put the fabric in the egg carton!
ReplyDeletehmm, butter...
In college my roommate introduced me to honey butter (I had never tasted it before) I thought that it was the best thing ever! So I worked up a scheme where we would sell honey butter in tubs under the name Schmed Spread! LOL too bad we were too busy studying and going to class to try it out, other wise I think it would have taken off!
Oh, yum, butter! I just love soft butter spread on warm bread. Hmm, I see bread and butter on tonight's menu. :-)
ReplyDeleteIf you've never experienced The Pioneer Woman's Cinnamon Rolls, you must!!! The amount of butter in them is sinful-- they're what I think of when I think butter!!
ReplyDeleteI love melted butter on a hot cinnamon raisin bagel! :) those fabrics are adorable!
ReplyDeletemmmm...sweet creamy butter, love it! Everything is better with butter. Wish I had some fresh Iowa corn on the cob dripping with butter, mmmm...
ReplyDeleteButter makes EVERYTHING better!!
ReplyDeleteOh butter is good! It's ridiculous how much of it goes into a batch of shortbread, but I know that's what makes it so good!
ReplyDeleteAnd Whimsy - yum! I love anything Joanna does and I can't wait to get my hands on some of this!
Butter is the ultimate flavoring in most foods.
ReplyDeleteButter on everything!
ReplyDeleteA famous story in my husband's family was when his youngest sister and youngest brother got into the butter and spread it all over their heads, faces, arms, etc... What fun to clean up!
ReplyDeletejasnheidi@aol.com
I just took a stick of butter out of the freezer so that it will soften up so that I can make a new cookie recipe that I found.
ReplyDeleteThanks Corrie for the giveaway. I always use butter in my cooking. We have enough additives in our foods without adding all the chemicals from margerine! Love hot buttered popcorn and the buttery taste of peanut brickle.
ReplyDeleteI just took a stick of butter out of the freezer so that it will soften up so that I can make a new cookie recipe that I found.
ReplyDeleteOther then it is the best thing ever?? Mmmmm....butter.....
ReplyDeleteButter yellow is so smooth and creamy. On popcorn and on fabric :-)
ReplyDeleteCorrie and Des,
ReplyDeleteWhen my mom was growing up in the 50's and 60's, she lived in the wilds of Michigan. No electricity, indoor plumbing was still a dream, no tv, ice on the water pitcher and snow coming in under the eaves, and still churned their own butter-
my aunt ate a whole bowl of fresh churned butter and ended up in the ER room!
I like butter, but come on!
Mmmmm, butter.......love it!!
ReplyDeleteIs there anything that doesn't taate better with butter?
My husband used to ask as a kid, "can we have butter for dinner?" and my son now does the same thing! :)
ReplyDeleteannemolino at hotmail dot com
Butter? YUCK! Just kidding! Its like a kiss of sunshine on my Blueberry Muffin!
ReplyDeleteHomemade Butter~The Best!
ReplyDeleteButter - only yummy melted on toast. I have horrible memories of my mom buttering my sandwich bread for school and it having chunks of cold butter on it. YUK.
ReplyDeleteButter snuggles - just finished a quilt with it and cannot. stop. petting. it.
Who invented margarine? I don't know either.
ReplyDeleteWho invented butter? God. Do you want to argue about which is healthiest?
I want to try my hand at making butter. We go through too much of it but it's soooo good!
ReplyDeleteOh, soft unsalted butter on warm homemade bread...
ReplyDeleteDROOL!!!
Love the new line...such pretty soft colors...
I remember as a kids we would go into a restuarant and even though I didn't like butter then ( I love it now) I would eat it just because I loved little butter pats.
ReplyDeleteI have yet to find the exact amount of butter for my chocolate chip cookies so that they are neither too... well... "buttery", nor too dry.

ReplyDeleteWow, so very pretty!
ReplyDeleteButter on a hard roll, with a slice of ham or even just cuke slices with salt and pepper- that's heaven to me!
ReplyDeleteThanks for another fun giveaway chance!
butter yellow is my favorite color!
ReplyDeleteIn my house, we don't eat our bread with butter, never. The only reason I stock unsalted butter in my fridge is purely for baking!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway!!

Oh I love butter on some warm buns just out of the oven. Mmmm.... Tehse fabrics are amazing too. Look at all those soft colors. Love those little shorts. They are adorable.
ReplyDeleteOoh, I really need to get some of that butter-yellow Snuggles fabric! Butter always reminds me of buttercups, and holding the blossoms underneath each other's chins as children to see if we liked butter (which I apparently did...and do!) Yum :)
ReplyDeleteSuper random, but as soon as I read butter, my mind jumped to the movie Julie and Julia! You can neverhave too much butter!

Yummy whimsy! Buttercream frosting...in between Nilla wafers, and then put in the freezer! We call them freezer cookies in our house, and they're the best thing ever!
ReplyDeleteButter on fresh baked bread - mmmmmm. Makes me want to get baking today.
ReplyDeleteCan anyone ever have enough butter? I remember as a girl whipping some cream for whipped cream and I overdid it. I had no idea that it would end up butter. My mother was not happy, but I learned something from that. To this day, I never leave the bowl when whipping my cream.
ReplyDeleteHello! Butter! Isn't it one of the four food groups? Love it on and in most anything! Favorite? On a hot English Muffin with strawberry jam swimming in it!

Yummmmmm--- warm, soft, oooozy butter on a butter-flavored flaky biscuit. Oh, it doesn't get any better than that! And the BEST part of this fabric line is you get the visual and the reminisces without the CALORIES! YAY!
ReplyDeleteYummmy-------soft butter melting on a hot flaky biscuit, topped with fresh sweetened strawberries & whipped cream. SLURP! Even though that doesn't fit in my Weight Watchers menu these days, this fabric line sure reminds me of those wonderful things. M-M-GOOD!

ReplyDeleteButter, what can I say, it makes everything taste better. I love making a choclolate sheet cake, that requires several bars of butter, mmmmm…. Great now I am hungry.
Hello,
ReplyDeleteAt home I grew up eating margerine on my toast. My maternal grandparents always had butter. I loved visiting them and eating REAL butter on their home made bread. Nothing tasted better to me.
Today, I still connect my sweet Grandma and Grandpa to butter. By the way--I am 50 something and eat the REAL butter. :)
Have a great day! Love the fabric!!

I love honey butter on nice warm bread out of the oven
ReplyDeleteThis is what I think of when you say BUTTER!!!
ReplyDeleteBetty Botter bought some butter,
But, she said, The butter's bitter;
If I put it in my batter
It will make my batter bitter.
But, a bit of better butter
Will make my batter better.
So, she bought a bit of butter
Better than her bitter butter,
And she put it in her batter
And the batter was not bitter.
So, 'twas better Betty Botter
Bought a bit of better butter.
Love the new fabrics, thanks for the great Give Away!
I love the spray butter... just one squirt is enough.
ReplyDeleteButter makes the world go round! My pain au chocolat recipe starts with a pound of butter...need I say more? Love the taste, love the colour. Hmm, kinda makes me want to have some popcorn now!

ReplyDelete“If toast always lands butter-side down, and cats always land on their feet, what happens if you strap toast on the back of a cat and drop it?” - Stephen Wright. Cracks me up.
ReplyDeleteFavorite new recipe: Divine Sugar Cookies = 1 lb. Butter in that baby, yup, and they are divine cookies. Made 'em for Valentines Day (hmm 3 times). Thanks for the Whimsy Giveaway!
ReplyDeleteYou know what's yummy? coco-butter!!!! LOL!
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, I LOVE this fabric! Thanks for the chance at the giveaway. As for butter, I grew up on a farm and all we ever had was butter. Then one day we went to our cousins' for a visit, and they had margarine, which we had never tasted before. We kids thought it was so good, we dipped our potato chips in it! Can you imagine? I soon got over margarine and now I use only butter for everything.
ReplyDeletekeels@mvdsl.com
You can never have too much butter!
ReplyDeleteButter! It's the real thing! Simply: sourdough bread hot out of the oven & butter! I hate to admit it, but if I don't have at least 4 pounds in the fridge I think I'm running out and break out in cold sweats! Fortuantely I don't have colestral problems. (I think butter has been getting a bad rap!)
ReplyDeletehere's something different. Warm tortilla chips with a little butter and good salsa. Sounds good on a cold day along with hot mexican food. yummmm

ReplyDeleteI like butter when it is on bread and nothing else. I don't like butter on my muffins. Butter is definitely better than margarine.

World famous butter from Atlantic Canada, slathered on fresh homemade white bread. Yummy
ReplyDeleteButter. Mmmm my favourite. My go to food of choice when I lived in England before moving here with my husband was stopping off at the supermarket on my way home from work and buying a freshly baked french stick and then making sure I had a good supply of english or irish butter to dollop on it. No such thing as portion control. I wasn't finished until the bread was!
ReplyDeleteMy husband, the chef, says "everything's better with butter." ...this may explain my ample derriere!
ReplyDeleteI use margarine because it is easier to spread, but I love the taste of butter
ReplyDeleteHot corn bread with butter is on the menu for dinner tonight. The main corn is beef with potatoes and onions. I would love to win this one.

ReplyDeleteOh, the trouble with butter. I read a lot of fitness blogs and there is always a battle over which is better, butter, margarine, olive oil, coconut oil! I like butter in baked goods but I like to fry things in olive oil (a TINY bit of olive oil at that!) and I like my bread/muffins left plain! Or with jelly or PB.
ReplyDeleteI know it not the healthiest thing in the world but I think that EVERYTHING tastes better with butter! I love it! From baking to toast and everything inbetween. Yum Yum Yum

ReplyDeleteI love butter and fresh bread with vegemite
ReplyDeleteI wish I didn't love you...butter do!
ReplyDeleteOMG. What is better than butter. It's so good on popcorn, toast... mmm... too bad I can't eat in my a diet.
ReplyDeleteMy husband and I (and our kids) lived with my parents for a little while (thank goodness that's over...did I say that?). Oh, but about butter...they only had fake stuff. My mom didn't even call it the right name, she called it "betcha can't believe it's not butter." Oh yes, I do believe it is most certainly NOT butter. In my opinion, butter has no substitute, and for those who would like to challenge that, my husband would probably be a good taste-tester. Butter has no equal. It is another proof that God loves us. (so that is how I feel about butter).
ReplyDelete(lovely fabrics by the way! I hope I win ;)
Butter is the best! I love to saute green beans that are fresh from the garden in a huge pat of butter. Yum Yum I can't wait for summer to come.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the butter rush Corrie! Buttery yellow is a fav of mine. I have loved hot buttered popcorn since I was old enough to chew. LOVE IT. Butter melting on corn on the cob in the summertime....mmmmmmm. Fresh bread with butter soaking into all the little holes....paradise. Blueberry muffins torn in half with butter melting down into the halves and dripping down my chin...life is good. I had a heart attack in July.....good bye butter...hello Smart Balance.

The first thing that came to my mind when I heard butter was a warm waffle with a slice of butter melting on top. I like to make my waffles from scratch with frothy egg white folded in. Light and fluffy!
ReplyDeleteYum butter! What comes to mind- salted sweet cream butter spread on french bread and sprinkled with lots of garlic powder. Homemade garlic bread with spaghetti- d-e-l-i-c-i-o-u-s!!! :)

ReplyDeleteI will always remember my cousin one time saying "where's the butter?" when he was eating lunch at a friends house...he was so perplexed why they didn't always have butter on the table.
ReplyDeleteI am a wellness coordinator and currently in the brainstorming phase for a poster to go up at one of our companies called "which butter is better" - a comparison of the 'healthier' butters - the fats/calories they contain. I do love butter, but I don't mind the spray kind for things like toast and popcorn. Thanks for offering the giveaway!
ReplyDeletehilarybyma@yahoo.com

Everything tastes better with butter, no? I've been waiting for Whimsy and now it's here!
ReplyDeleteI just read a blog that had a recipe for a pan of bars and it used TWO CUPS of butter. I checked and it is correct. I have never made anything that used TWO CUPS of butter in one recipe. Yes, there were other ingredients too.
ReplyDelete
