  4. We are privileged to be a part of a service honoring veterans -- including my husband's beloved Great Uncle who passed away a few months ago. Afterward there will be family and food for sure!

  8. We'll be having a homegrown, small town (aka white trash) event in a small local community on the 3rd with a bunch of other FUN people! Then on the 4th it's church, lunch, nap. :o) We might go for a Sunday drive, but we'll see. (not too sure about driving around these parts on that holiday)

  10. Well the boat is in dry dock so no going out on the lake to watch the fireworks. We will have a bbq and then take a drive to a town that is podunkier than our own and watch their fireworks. No watching the Podunk town parade - once was enough for that. ;)

  17. Since the 4th is a Sunday, I will be going to church and singing in the choir. (I think that is a great way to celebrate FREEDOM!)
    Then in the evening we will have the church parking lot blocked off as it is across from the lake. Those who asked for them, got parking tickets. We will sit in the lot with our snacks and watch the fireworks over the lake while enjoying the company of our church family.

  18. We will spend the 4th with our church family at Mass, then with our neighbors. Th. Me grills will be lit and wonderful summer food will be shared - watermelon, apple pie, burgers. Most of all, we will be grateful for living in a country with freedom and indepedence.

  47. I like that Schnibbles, yes I do. We will go to the fireworks. I always love the fireworks and take advantage of going to them as an adult, when I was a kid we didn't get to go as my dad was a Vet from Vietnam and the sounds bothered him.

  107. Exciting giveaway! On the 4th, we will attend church services and listen to our choir present a patriotic musical. Then we will go to my mother's and visit with my brother who is visiting from Chicago. He lives 13 hours away and we don't get to see him often. There is only one child in the family the age to get excited about fireworks, but we'll probably give him a little fun with them.

  109. My friend lives at the highest point over looking the Arroyo and the Rose Bowl. We gather at her house, sing happy birthday to me (July 5) and watch about 20 different fireworks shows, ending with the Rose Bowl show. We eat too!

Hubby's recuperating from a broken leg and is wheelchair bound until he does, and I'm recuperating from carpal tunnel surgery and can't push him around or get the chair in and out of the car, so we'll spend our 4th of July fairly quietly. I'm sure, though, that whatever we do, something will be BBQ'd, corn on the cobb will be devoured, and some kind of yummy dessert will be consumed!

  149. Nothing but the usual for me---just working on stitching--town here will be too full of traffic to move or to have any one even come--so I will do what I love best---stitch!!!

  159. We are going to the beach up by lake Ontario and then back down to Conesus Lake for the fireworks--picnics in between with our son, his chickmate and the cutest nephew ever!

  164. In Canada, we just finished celebrating Canada's day today but on Sunday, I'm planning to visit my aunt with our 3 kids to enjoy some time in her hot tub and have a nice supper all together!

  166. We don't celebrate the 4th of july as the Independence of the US because I don't live there, but that day I'm looking forward for a road trip I'm going to have until tuesday, can't wait for it!!!!, wooooo hooooooo!!!!, lol
