My girls grew up
and left,
now it's just me and boys.
I am trying
to embrace
camping.
The transition isn't going real well.
But,
I think having
new,
clean,
non-polyester,
non-camo
camp quilts would help my enthusiasm.
I knew it was for me!
But my camper needed to be pulled
by a pickup.
So.... here it is.
If you'd like a pieced truck pattern,
here is my attempt at sharing.
No guarantees.
If you'd like a pattern for this quilt check here or
I'm so happy it's done.
Snuggy warm Sidewalks flannel
on the back.
Been testing it out in front of the TV.
I'll just lay in the camper
and try not to think about
bears and
whether people have
washed their hands.
Hehehe. Of course you need something prettier than camo. I wouldn't be happy with that look either. I love your new quilt and hope the boys don't give you too much grief over it. :)
ReplyDeleteAll boys here and camping for me is a hotel without a hot tub! Love your spirit and the quilt!
ReplyDeleteThis cracked me up! Dee's version of roughing it sounds about right to me.
ReplyDeleteThank you for this truck pattern. Love your quilt! I've been meaning to make this quilt for my brother. They are always camping as a family. Me.....I'm like you on that subject!
ReplyDeleteawesome blocks-and you'l enjoy all the adventures lol
ReplyDeleteLove your quilt! I am so with you on camping and people not washing their hands!!!! I'm glad to learn I'm not the only one who feels that way!
ReplyDeleteThat is fabulous!!! It will make the camping much more fun.
ReplyDeleteNot Like camping??? Huh?/ Did you really think about this? I LOVE camping. I take hand sewing, stitching, mags books etc, etc(all the must-haves)and send them on their way for the most of the day fishing or whatever and I while away my time in piece and quiet!!! Take the grands to the beach or playground ocassionally also a great time to teach the grands to sew or stitch or Girl You have been soooo misled!!!!
ReplyDeleteWow, Finnie, you almost have ME talked in to it!!
DeleteOhMyGosh -- that is just toooo stinkin' cute! I NEED one of those! Embrace your inner camping self -- you lucky duck, you live in one of the most beautiful places for camping. I LOVE camping. Bears and all!!!
ReplyDeleteThat is a fun quilt and love the camping themes.
ReplyDeleteWe are going to look at trailers again and want to make things for it, but have to wait and see what colors we get in it, most of the new ones have modern and weird designs, lol.
Debbie

ReplyDeleteAnd look at you....taking your dog everywhere with you. You dog lover, you!!!
ReplyDeleteThe truck looked pretty empty...had to do something.

ReplyDeleteThis KILLS me! so great! I love your "humor?" LOVE the grid, you will certainly be off the grid - cramping I mean camping.
ReplyDeletePerfect quilt! We just bought a camper last summer and we pull it with a pick up as well. I've never been a camper but taking my Featherweight along has helped a lot :-)
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your truck, so cute! And I struggle with camping too, more stress than fun!
ReplyDeleteThat truck and camper is adorable, great job.
ReplyDeleteLove, love, love it! My husband and I are campers too but we don't have children at home any more so I don't have to worry about the washed hands any more...just the bears. :) blessings, marlene
ReplyDeleteLOVE it Corrie! Enjoy....
ReplyDeleteThank you for truck pattern!
ReplyDeleteThe heck with the bears, spiders are what do me in! Love your change in vehicles! Too awesomely cute!!!
ReplyDeleteOh, I hadn't thought much about spiders. :( I better make a sleeping bag.
DeleteWhat a great idea to make a quilt for camping. Wonderful, but using it in front of the TV would be just fine with me too.
ReplyDeleteGreetings,
Sylvia
Hahaha you are delightful Corrie! I now love camping in my camper. It makes all the difference. I've GOT to make a quilt with a camper on it! Love yours.
ReplyDeleteI only like to camp if there is carpeting under my bed and a flushable toilet close by. I did girl's camp ONCE...that was enough! I love this quilt, though, and think it would be great to use when camping in front of my TV.
