  1. The only aprons I've made so far are the "lets just cut a square and add a tie" type. Not exactly winning any pattern contests! I've been yeyballing this book and here's hoping I win! I can think of at least 4 Christmas gifts that would be made from it!

  4. I am not participating in the giveaway, let some nice ingenuous quilter receive the same. The words retro and aprons - means a lot to me. I am desperately searching for the Retro Kitchen Aprons cross stitch kit, that is why. LOL!!

    And i am already your follower!! quilter or not.

    I hope to applique some day, Taffy and if i get the hang of it and love it will try quilting too:)

  10. My favourite apron is a rather ugly apron that my grandma and I made when I was little and is almost falling to bits now. I would make her and I new (matching) aprons to wear at christmas.

  32. My favorite aprons were the ones my Grandma wore up at our cottage in Vermont. So colorful and cheery and we knew when she donned the apron there were homemade chocolate chip cookies coing!

  61. My fav apron pattern so far is "The Lucy Apron" from Brassy Apple. So cute and great for everything. Not too tight or too loose or too long. Just perfect.

  62. I made my mom two aprons from a terry cloth towel that we found at a thrift store. She prefers terry aprons so she can wipe her hands as she's cooking. I just added cut the towel in half, added ties and she had two aprons.

  82. My Mom use to make the full cover apron's just like the one's my Grandma would wear! I loved them so much, I would just store them in a drawer to wear for special occasions...but why? Who wants to get a "special occasion" apron dirty? :) I love you blog.

  99. I haven't made any aprons, but I REALLY need to replace the utilitarian apron that I stole from my mom when I went off to college 10 years ago. Anything would be better than the green checkered apron! Maybe that's why I don't use because "nothing" is better!

  158. My favorite apron is one I made years ago that is from a dishcloth calendar for 1981, the year I was born. (I found it in a box of yard sale fabric when I was staying with some friends on a farm up in Indiana one summer.) I actually collect aprons so I have a ton that I have made or purchased at thrift and antique stores, but that one is my fave-quite ugly-but still my favorite!!

  166. Hm, now this one is a little harder- what apron is my fav? Well, it's not vintage, but my MIL had a black apron embroidered with a bumblebee and the words "Queen Bee" for my birthday one year. It is my favorite because she had it done especially for me!! And that makes me feel SPECIAL!! :0)

  168. I LOVE aprons, especially retro patterns and fabric. I love them because I actually need them. I cook a lot and will ruin whatever I am wearing if I don't have an apron on. But mostly I love them because my grandma ALWAYS wore one and they remind me of her. Aprons make me happy!
