  17. I think you should make a mix...you need chex mix cereal - corn/rice...peanuts, m&m's or reese pieces, small pretzel bits and then a couple bags of the white chocolate disks that you melt.

Mix the stuff up together in a pan, melt the disks according to package, pour over the mixture and then place on wax paper to cool. It's a great sweet tweet. You just break it into pieces when you're done. I make this every Christmas. =) If you buy the red/green m&m's it's really festive. =)

And of course the treat for the boys would have to be chocolate chip cookies home made and fresh from the oven!
    Enjoy!

  21. I would like So Sophie and how about making sorbet?

    ReplyDelete
  22. since i'm having a boy in february, and seriously lacking in the boyish fabrics thanks to my two girls, i'd have to go with mod tod - how cute!

as far as making a treat - i always love peppermint and chocolate around the holidays, and last year i discovered pampered chef's peppermint bark recipe, and it's SOOO good, and would be easy to make with kids. they get to pound and crush candy canes - i think they'd love it. :) here's the link http://www.pamperedchef.com/our_products/recipesearch/recipedetail.jsp?recipeId=95174

    ReplyDelete
  35. I like Mod Tod -- I think my nearly two-year-old grandson would too!! As for the treat to make with your cub scouts, what about the little Christmas mice? Dip a maraschino cherry in melted chocolate (for mouse aesthetics it's important that the tail...er, stem...be intact), add a Hershey's kiss for the head, almond slivers for the ears, and a little decorative frosting or gel for the eyes. I've seen them set on an Oreo halfshell. Very, very cute!! Use green and red gel for a little holly effect. :)

    ReplyDelete
  47. I love the Mod Tod! What to make for a hungry little troop of scouts? Hmmmm. I am agreeing with the girls above... I have a soft sugar cookie recipe that is always a stand by hit. Plus, the kids like the variety of shapes. Or, you could make caramel corn coated in white chocolate, which is always popular. :)

    ReplyDelete
  50. I'm quite smitten with Daisy Cottage. It's yummy like Reindeer food (chex mix with lots of different mix-ins).

    ReplyDelete
  51. My pick would be So Sophie. I spent many years as a Cub Scout leader. Hmmm...... easy treats, huh? Peanut blossom cookies? Or Peanut Butter Temptations - it's peanut butter cookie dough, baked in mini muffin pans, and then you put a miniature Reese's in the center of each right after you take them out of the oven. They are favorites around here. Thanks for the chance to win!

    ReplyDelete
  52. Mod Tod is so cute! My favortie treat to make growing up was sugar cookies - I can't wait to start that tradition with my little one!

    ReplyDelete
  58. I love the pink collection that is sitting on the top of the others...I think it's Daisy cottage. Yup, that would be my choice. As for a treat to make with the kids, 'No Bake' cookies always go over well here. With the cocoa, peanut butter and oatmeal. I don't have the recipe close at hand just now but it is very easy, fast prep time and as soon as you take them out of the pan and drop them on the wax paper, you can eat them...just let them cool a bit of course, LOL. Fun to make and even more fun to eat. Hugs...

    ReplyDelete

    Thanks for the giveaway!

    ReplyDelete
  60. hmm. i have a baby girl quilt to make soon - but seriously, daisy cottage, promenade or so sophie would all work. if i had to commit, i'd probably go with daisy cottage.

treat to make with cub scouts? take big marshmallows, poke a skewer into them, dip most of the way into melted chocolate, then dip into crushed peppermints. wrap in cellophane, and you have some fantastic hot chocolate stirrers. the marshmallow, chocolate and peppermint all melt when you stir with this, making your hot chocolate delish!

    ReplyDelete
  61. I like Daisy Cottage best...greys and pinks are really doing it for me right now. And how about something with pumpkin in it? I made pumpkin cake a couple weeks ago and my kids loved it! And it doesn't take forever to bake since I used a cookie sheet.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Love that sweet Daisy Cottage...

Boy Scouts...hm...haven't had a boy scout in the house for a long time...
How about buying cheap 4 inch floor tiles and have them mod podge some pretty papers on them for coasters for their parents... You might even get a store to donate some odd lot of tiles..

    ReplyDelete
  63. Daisy Cottage would be my choice. As for the christmas treat I'd make cookies or what about a few christmas tree ornaments made of fabric or paper? Perhaps some little stars?

    ReplyDelete
  65. I think it would be Promenade or Decadence for me... but I can't decide between them!

    ReplyDelete
  66. As for what to make with your cub scouts, how about some Christmas colour themed Rocky Road? White chocolate, red & green jelly snakes (or other jelly lollies or how about cranberry/pistachio!) and marshmallows. Super fun & easy :)

    ReplyDelete
  67. I love the Mod Tod! So much fun! :)

    ReplyDelete
  68. Daisy Cottage is my favorite. A treat with the Cub Scouts? How about Faux Turtles, knot pretzel topped with a rolo warmed in the oven then a pecan/walnut half pressed into it. Store in fridge or cool spot.

    ReplyDelete
  69. OOh, So Sophie would be my choice~ love Riley Blake fabrics!

    ReplyDelete
  70. I used to be a cub scout pack master! We had five dens in our pack.
I actually did these: spread peanut butter between two vanilla wafers and then dip only halfway into melted chocolate chips (no ouchy fingers then). Can put Christmas sprinkles in the wet chocolate if you like, or leave 'em plain! Have fun with your cubs!

    ReplyDelete
  71. I would pick Mod Tod! Reindeer cookies with Nutter Butters and pretzels for the antlers.

    kimrward@charter.net

  72. I like So Sophie.

Suggestion for cub scouts? Rice krispy wreaths.

    ReplyDelete

how about taking pinecones, cover with peanut butter & bird feed to hang for the winter birds? messy but fun.

    ReplyDelete
  76. I would love Mod Tod! My favorite treat to make with kids: you unwrap rolo's put them in a warm (170-200 deg) oven for a few minutes (just until they soften slightly, but aren't melty) put them on a pretzel and the squish an almond on top of them. Very turtle like and yyummy!

    ReplyDelete
  77. Does it have to be a treat that you can "eat"? You could make Christmas cards that they can then send to their best friend, for example :-)

I think Promenade would be my first choice. Thanks for the chance!

    Contact:librosfera(at)gmail(dot)com

    ReplyDelete
  78. So Sophie or Daisy Cottage would be my choice:) The Christmas treats - decorated sugar cookies would be the easiest probably. But making "candy cane" cookies was always fun for us growing up. 1/2 dough is redish and other half is regular. You roll thin strips of each and roll/twist together to make the stripes, place on pan in the shape of a candy cane and bake. When they come out of the oven sprinkle a sugar and crushed peppermint mix on top. Yummy!

    ReplyDelete
  79. I love Mod Tod

for the scouts...painting a small clay flower pot/small glass jar and then using a round sponge brush to add a snowman and paint or use the foam precut hats, nose etc. to make a jar for candy

    ReplyDelete
  80. Daisy Cottabe is my favorite ♥ Your little cub scouts might like a Rudolph candy cane. They are simple to make to chubby little boy hands. Brown chenille stem for antlers, googly eyes, red pom pom for nose, red bow around neck, and some glue.

    ReplyDelete
  81. Mod Tod!! How about those choclate cookies with the Hershey peppermint candies pressed into them after cooking?

    ReplyDelete
  82. Decadence for me. As far as a treat- My kids love a mix of goldfish, pretzel goldfish and m&m's. I have also taken pretzel rods, dipped them in melted chocolate and then let them roll them in sprinkles, coconut, etc. It looks like you have lots of great ideas.

    ReplyDelete
  83. Whoopie pies. They would have fun wiping the cream between and then eating them. Yum!

    ReplyDelete
  84. Promenade for me please!

There are some no-bake chocolate cookies we used to make when I was little. They were so good! I made them in college and everyone made poop jokes because they were just brown lumps, but amazingly enough we didn't get that yucky as kids.

    ReplyDelete
  85. I like daisy cottage as I like lori holt. for a thing to do with cub scouts how about rice crispies. make them up and then let them mold them as they like and decorate them with other things. linda gerig@sbcglobal.net

    ReplyDelete
  86. Love that Daisy Cottage! As for the scouts, I'd buy a box of Fiddle Faddle or other crunchy sweet popcorn and then melt white and/or chocolate chips in a sandwich bag and let them squiggle it over the popcorn. It's fancy looking and yummy!

    ReplyDelete
  87. Oooohhh I'd love to have Promenade! It is gorgeous! May I suggest chocolate covered peanut butter balls for your treat? It's pretty easy, but time consuming. Should go faster with lots of little hands to roll the balls!

    ReplyDelete
  88. Great giveaway! I like Daisy Cottage. Thanks for the chance to win!

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  99. Mod Tod! Marshmallows! Very fun, easy and yummy.

    ReplyDelete
  100. I love the Daisy cottage. For the Boy Scout treat, what about mini pretzels with a melted Rolo chocolate on top. It is easy, takes only minutes with little mess. I make cookie sheets full for my four Grandson's. Then put them in a small bag and tie with Christmas ribbon.

    ReplyDelete
  101. All the charm packs are great! I really like Daisy Cottage.
Your scouts could make a Chex cereal snack. Use the cereal, small pretzel twists, peanuts or cashews, Christmas M&M's, Christmas sprinkles and white chocolate chips. Melt the chocolate chips and pour over the other ingredients, mix together and then pour out onto wax paper. When they are cool and set, break apart, if necessary, and put into containers. Another one is to put pretzels on a cookie sheet, add a chocolate candy disc to the top, place in oven until the disc starts to melt. Take them out and while still warm, place 1 or 2 Christmas M&M's on top of the chocolate. Good luck and thanks for the giveaway.

    ReplyDelete
  102. Daisy cottage is really pretty.
I think a nice treat to make are peanut brittles.

Beatrix from Kindershop (beatrix dot sadek at yahoo dot com)

    ReplyDelete
  105. 1. Promenade!
    2. How about making a gingerbread house using graham crackers and some Royal icing. This was always a big hit with my daughter. The kids could bring a bag of extras, M & Ms, gumdrops, etc, to share with the group to decorate their houses.

    ReplyDelete
  106. I'd pic Mod Tod - too cute.
    Christmas treat....
S'mores Marshmellows....take large marshmellows and poke small straight pretzel sticks into each one. Dip them in melted chocolate and then roll them in crushed graham crackers. Lay out on wax paper and let set up in the fridge for about an hour then enjoy! They are very addictive! Jenn

    ReplyDelete
  107. So Sophie is my favorite!

I'd do rice crispy treats. If you don't want to do the original, there are all kinds of variations out there. Cooks.com have a bunch of recipes. :-)

    ReplyDelete
  108. Decadence

Make "reindeer noses"- let them fill a zip top bag with 8 malted milk balls and one fireball (for Rudolph) and then have pre-printed "Reindeer noses" cardstock pieces that the can color, cut out, and staple to the top of the package. Great gifts they can give to teachers, friends and family.

    ReplyDelete
  109. Mod Tod would be great!

My kids are too young to cook with so I don't have any experience yet, but if you made a fruitcake, they could help you drizzle it with rum every day for the two weeks...! :D

  136. So Sophie is soo cute! I just came across this recipe for marshmallow snowmen - NO Baking and you could use a pot set into an electric skillet filled with a bit of water to melt the chocolate if you don't have access to a stove. Here's the link: http://www.bhg.com/recipe/cookies/marshmallow-snowmen/

  137. I think I would choose Mod Tod, I have a couple of baby quilts I need to make. :)
Get the BIG bag o' pretzels at Costco (these work best because their openings are not as big as the same sort of pretzel you get in smaller bags at the grocery store)and since you are at Costco anyway get a BIG bag of chocolate chips, get a few bags of PLAIN holiday M&M's, cover a cookie sheet (with sides)with foil. lay a single layer of pretzels on the sheet (fill the tray completely). Put a chocolate chip in each pretzel opening. Put in a low heat oven (200 degrees or so) just until the choc chips start to get melty. Bring the tray out and now put a Christmas colored M&M on top of each choc chip. Let them set up (you can pop them in the fridge to speed up the process). My kids (yes they are in college now but still...) KNOW that they must have red & green M&M's in each pretzel. You can't have all red, or all green. I'll make you do them over. Seriously! :D
    Sweet, chocolatey and salty. YUMMMMM

  138. Ohh they are all wonderful. I think So Sophie would be my first choice.
I always made the sugar cookies and let the Cub Scouts decorate them. They had a blast and kept the mess contained with paper plates. ;) We'd let them each do 6 cookies, eat one and take 5 home. LOL
    Thanks for the fun!

  139. I would make Chocolate Haystacks with them. I would choose Decadence as my favourite.

  140. I just love Daisy Cottage! Lori is such a creative gal. M & M cookies are always fun to make. The Scouts can put the M & M's on top of chocolate chip cookies recipe. They come out so pretty. And good too :-)

  141. They are all cute. I would choose decadence.

  142. Most kids like rice crispy treats. I think I have seen them made into Christmas trees. You could add little round candies to the mix for ornaments.

  143. I love all of the fabrics! An easy yummy holiday treat is to use pretzels, hershey kisses and m&m's. Here is the link for it. http://houseonhilltop.wordpress.com/2010/12/15/our-favorite-christmas-treat/

  145. Daisy Cottage for me please.
I was going to suggest a fun treat for the Boy Scounts called Puppy Chow using Chex mix and serving in a huge dog bowl....HOWEVER given it uses peanut butter likely not a good idea for those boys who suffer from a peanut allergy like mine. The kids get a real kick out of the dog bowl treat!!
My other suggestion is simply pretzel sticks dipped in chocolate to coat with sprinkles. Kids love those sprinkes. Thanks for the chance

My son is in cubs and last night they did sausages wrapped in cabbage leaves with vegies all wrapped in a foil parcel and cooked in the coals of a fire, and then they got little cans with air holes cut around the bottom and sat it over a tealight candle and cooked mini pancakes on the can - they all thought that was very cool! :)
