Starry Starry Night Retreat - Part 4 - The End

At the Starry Starry Night
we had an amazing
guest teacher
who taught...

Picture
Kathy and the retreaters
just got right to it.

They started with 2.5" strips
or jelly rolls.

We had diamonds
everywhere.

They sewed away and
here is what they ended up with -

Here is Brenda's...

You can do a planned pattern
or totally scrappy.

Lynette's is planned on the left and
Shelto's is scrappy.

Same fabric line, but they look so different.

This sweet one is for Nancy's baby-to-be.
Made by her and her mom, Diane.

Paula's star with that
pretty green background.

Shauna's in progress.

Completed!

Ramona did this planned
one from a jelly roll.

Worked out great!

This is LeAnn's in progress.

Cute Christmas line -

Gwyn's stunning roses.

Jojo's Color Theory Star.
This was made with one jelly roll.

They were amazing.
I was wishing I had taken the class.

But I have this one that
Kathy made!
True Love!

I think Kathy and I were competing on
who could take the most pictures.

Kathy did a much better write up
about these on her blog.
And did a great retreat report.

Kathy, it was so nice having
you there!
You're pretty awesome.

Starry Starry Night Retreat 2015 ~ Part 3

The Craft Taffy Retreat goes on....
to Session 2
in gorgeous McCall, Idaho.

We do the same program
during both retreats,
so for more details, see Part 2.

There's Des in the kitchen.
Crank up her 'cooking' music.

This was my favorite breakfast -
I forgot to take a picture of it (twice).

Valerie won a stained glass star
We love their stars!

In case you were wondering,
LeAnn was our
Dancing With the Stars Winner!
She's got the moves!

Still sewing...

Our Retreat
featured an amazing Lone Star class
taught by Kathy Olkowski.
More on that in Part 4.

 We saw deer, fox, gnats,
you name it...

Took a walk to the beach.
Payette Lake

Shelto took a dare.

Our retreaters come from all over,
we have mothers and daughters,
cousins, sisters,
in this session - a group of 5 sisters,
far apart friends,
new friends,
old friends.

It's a great time to create and connect.

At the end of each retreat,
we like to have a treat for the road.
This year Des made a
Starry Starry Night CD -
featuring selected celestial songs.  :)

This retreat was our 4th year.
Each one has definitely been memorable.
I love these retreats; I love these ladies.
I love planning them with my sis.
It gives us a great excuse to spend more time together.

Starry Starry Night Retreat 2015 ~ Part 2

Our Craft Taffy - Session 1 retreaters
arrived, settled in
and started sewing.

At our first night gathering,
we did introductions
and exchanged fat quarters.

Nancy taught us
how to make a fun tote
out of fat quarters.
Thanks Nancy!

Oh, the competition was
fierce in our
Dancing With the Stars
battle.

[side note: I put this pic on instagram and
 Tony Dovolani hearted it. :)]

These ladies know how to move.
So fun and such
great participation!

Brenda,
wearing the coveted
 mirrorball necklace,
was our
big winner!

  Music,
munchies and
 more sewing.

Today's horoscope...
this was how we gave out one of the door prizes.
Lots of different advice, but the winner's
had a secret message.

And then there's always
the food...

Yummy prosciutto and
 a grilled veggie pizza, watermelon
and Key Lime Pops.  Croissants...

Dining Alfresco

 LeAnn taught us to make
some tasty sweet and
savory pretzel bites.

Brenda was the first one done
with a Lone Star.
Nancy and Diane made a sweet pink one
for Nancy's little girl that's coming soon.

Good times!
You guys make me smile.
Miss all of you!

Session 1 was a pleasure,
onto Session 2!
