It's from Traveling Quilter. 

Dresses on linen.  So retro.

It goes with our Dot topic for today...

Ladies, 

Yahoo tells us that,

 "Head to Toe Polka Dots is a big No, No

That pretty much says it all.   

Shoot, I need to toss my leggings.

I wish I had witty dot repertoire 

for you every day.

 

I could give a couple of tips:

Don't wear polka dot underwear with white shorts.

and Redbook tells us:

"Polka dots perk you up--pretty much instantly. 

 A playful pattern gives off an energetic, fresh-faced vibe that's 

appropriate no matter how many candles you're blowing out this year."

 

Good to know that polka dots are timeless!

Dots on Dots - Day 4

It's MY Day for Dots!

Popsicles, Ice Cream, Sno-cones, Push Pops....

I've had them on the brain and
 in my mouth all summer.

So...how about Dots on Popsicles?
Works for me!

 Here is my 10.5" block.

Life would be much easier if I would follow a pattern.

I couldn't find one I liked, so made my own.  

Let the popsicle parade begin.

All of the sticks are a little white polka dot on cream.

They are the perfect stick color but didn't stand out much, 

so I outlined them in aqua, red and pink Prescenia thread.

Love that little pink Ice Cream girl and

 of course Mickey Mouse too.

 

I really had no idea what to do with these,

and thought they might sit around forever.  

But then my daughter mentioned

 she'd like a TV blanket.

"Really?" 

"Would you like one with Popsicles on it???"

 "Really?"

So...I needed more blocks.

I used the block patterns from this quilt and

 enlarged them to be a 10.5" square.

Really fast and easy.

This is my next favorite block.  

Pandas in New York City!

Full of color and 

all of my favorite 

quirky bright fabrics.

Just hope she doesn't drip on it.

Every Thursday we have a giveaway --

little dotty sewing kit!

1st Day Dots on Dots Blog Hop

Welcome!!

 Super excited to kick off Day 1 of the Blog Hop.  

I've seen some sneak peaks on a few blogs

 and can't wait to see them all.  

Over 90 bloggers will 

share what they've made.

The only stipulation was to make a 

10.5" or 12.5" (unfinished size) block

and then from there, 

how many or if they did something with it, 

was up to them.

The top two picks and honorable mention

 will be posted each day on Sew We Quilt,
