Leftover Love

"It's Spring Break and all we get to do is spring clean." Yeah, whatever kids, pass the dust rag. After cleaning out the cobwebbies and dusty walls my dresser top needed some love. It's an old dresser.....clear back from the 80's. Can you remember the 80's? I had grandiose visions of painting it way back in the 80's. Never happened. So here is the lovely before and after. With a little leftover love from some Freshcut scraps, I whipped up this dresser topper, added some leftover love for the back from some old Girlfriend scraps and Voila............it feels like spring. We were supposed to be painting but I felt too poor. I thought food on the table would be better. I know paint is cheap, well not cheap enough for me today. ~Des

  2. Okay, now you really have me interested in quilting. That table topper is too cute! I would love to do one of your knotty baby quilts using some of the Freshcut fabrics! Adorable!

  3. That is cute! How long did it take you to make and how did you quilt it? Just curious.

  4. Wow, that makes such a huge difference! I have a TON of Girlfriend charm squares--maybe I should do something like that.

  5. Michael Ann: Honestly, I just picked a number, 4" and I started cutting leftovers in 4" strips. Then I decided to just sew those together as one big strip set. Then I cut some of them 4" and some 2". It needed to be 30ish inches so I just chopped and squared and said, Okay, this works. I just quickly machine quilted it on my sewing machine in a little loopy loopy. It's all I can do. :) It went super fast. I made it last evening. Des
