  1. Aloha! Greetings from Maui and yes I brought my computer so I could check the Taffy blog. I plan on making quilt-as-you-go table runners for Christmas gifts this year. I will have 2 room mothers and several friends to sew for. The pattern has a novelty print square set on point in the middle and then strips sewn through the batting and backing on a 45 degree angle on each side. They whip up quickly and are well received. Thanks for the give-away!

  2. my wish is simple, i want to make a rag quilt christmas tree, wallhanging. i have all the stuff, just NO TIME!
and in my spare time i want to make a throw for the living room in nice colors, instead of the ugly things the kids bring out. ;)
and then a "something" for my bedroom that uses pieces of my wedding. ie, bridesmaid dress fabric, and my dress fabric and some other lovelies. just for the memory.

  3. I have a new love for all things apron. I plan to make myself and my sister each one of these aprons for Christmas this year: http://www.marthastewart.com/article/remembering-christmas-past2
I also wish someone (my super talented aunt to be exact) would make me a rag quilt. She made a quilt for my daughter already this year with embroidered nursery rhymes on several of the squares.
I also think that I am going to make some nursing covers for several friends who are expecting. I am sure I will use a bunch of super stylish fabrics for these. :)

  4. Oh I forgot to add that one of my very good friends just had her first child (a little girl) and I plan to cut up parts of my bridesmaid outfit from my friend's wedding and turn it into something cute for the baby's nursery. I am just not sure what yet. Thankfully part of my dress was this pretty pink material and the baby was a girl. So it will all work out.

  5. At the moment I am awaiting the birth of my first grandchild, so I am totally into making baby items -- bibs, quilts, wall hangings. I haven't had such fun in quiltmaking for years as all the projects are done with love. I appreciate your great give-away.

  6. I would love to make myself a quilt, but I'm busy making a king-size one for my girlfriend getting married in October. I had some Heather Bailey fabric set to the side so I could make my own, then I started making aprons out of them. Oops. In time it will all work out, right now I'm just going with the flow.

    Blessings,
    Jenny in VA

  7. Let's see, I'm wanting to make a bathrobe, a clutch, a skirt, and a bunch of other stuff. I write all my ideas down in a notebook so that I don't feel like I have to remember them. I will be soooo busy until Wednesday, that Mom made me put the notebook away and not even think about what I want to do. Yeah right! :) It's helping a little bit, but I still can't wait to get started on something new. Of course, I need to finish some ufos first!

  8. I need to get started on reupholstering a favorite chair. A task so daunting I've been putting it off for...years...so that's what I'd do. Love some of the decorator weights that have come out but I really want to make some quilted fabric to then use to either slipcover or reupholster.

  10. I'm in the process of making one of the many Christmas gifts for this year, a picnic quilt and then I want to design a picnic tote for the quilt and all those things that just don't fit into a cooler. All my gifts get posted back to australia, so I need to be on the ball and ahead of schedule to be able to get them mailed in plenty of time. DD has also requested a wall hanging and some Christmas cushion covers so I need to figure those out as well.

  54. I have just recently, as in a month or so ago, fell madly and passionatley in love with sewing!

Being on a super tight budget for Christmas this year...I am super excited to make tons of homemade gifts this year for Christmas...although I think I may be biting off more then I can chew.

I will be making a quilt for my parents (I'd like to make two, but there's the whole time issue and all) to use in their camper. I am making rice/heating bags with sports related cases for two of my BIL's and my FIL. I will be making crayon rolls for my niece and nephews. And I am planning to make box bags for my sister and SIL.

Oh...and that is just the beginning...but most likely all I'll be able to finish before Christmas unless I quit my job and sew all day long. With the exception of not being able to afford fabric, that doesn't sound so bad.

  116. Just received an item I ordered from your store. Thanks! I am always making something. I mean ALL THE TIME. I had to take a little break, but snuck in a throw pillow today and next up will be a purse for myself. I make bags, dish towels, headbands, wristlets, window treatments, slipcovers. You name it. I have made one baby quilt so far.

  117. I'm thinking about a new tree skirt and matching stockings! I've seen some great ideas but haven't settled on one yet. You're offering a great prize! Thanks for the opportunity to win!!

  118. I want to make dolls for my nieces and stuffies for my nephews. I enjoy simple projects like these because they make memorable gifts for the kids without costing us a ton. I also want to make a quilt to send to my mom who I haven't seen in three years due to living half way across the country (literally) from her.

  119. My list is on going currently I am trying to find patters to help me become more organized so that I can find everything.

  120. I am going to do something with the Mary Englebreit Christmas charms and panel. Maybe just half square triangles all around the panel-maybe not. Can't decide, but it is the only thing I will do for myself for Christmas this year I am sure. I have already designed and made a large tablerunner pattern out of Winter by Moda, and a large lap size quilt out of Faye Burgos' Christmas line as well-that one was very traditional. I am still finishing the instructions on that one. These were both exclusives for shops here in Utah.

Feeling a little Christmas-ed out already! I do love It's Snowing by Moda too. I may buy it just to hoard it for now....
I think the Christmas quilt (Christmas quilt # 3 so far!)I made for The Material Girls where I work, will go to my Mom as a Christmas gift. That one was out of a line by Henry Glass fabrics.

Yes Virginia, there is a Santa Claus- and I am now sick of Christmas fabric in July!!!! :) Bah Humbug! ;)

  123. I would love to make a quilt that I saw in a magazine--- it was a Fons & Porter pattern that used Anna Griffin rose fabric. I've never tackled a quilt before, and I'm a little nervous to start. Maybe I'll start with pillows first.

  124. I'm not sure what I would make. With the economy being so poopy, I would like to make quite a few gifts this year for Christmas and involve my daughters in it too. Maybe pillows? Or lapquilts?

  128. I have been wanting to make a quilt for our queen size bed for years now. I had made one about 12 years ago and it's falling apart. I don't want someone else to make it. I want to make it myself. It just seems more special that way.

  133. My mother in law got a me a sewing machine for Christmas and I'm still learning how to use it. I would like to make clothes for myself, blankets for my boys beds. Most of all I'd like to do a detailed quilt for my bed, but I know that's far into the future.

  136. Hi from Perth, West Australia!!
I would love love love someone to make me something for a change!! I seem to spend my life making things for everyone, finishing off other people's projects (cos they just don't have time and apparently I do) doing other people's mending, or showing other people how to make things!! It would be sooooo lovely for someone to take the time to make me something, anything!

    ReplyDelete
  137. I would love to be able to make curtains out of antique fabrics, but thats an expense for our permanent home.

What I'd really like is for my brother-in-law to teach or make me one of his crazy quilt Christmas stockings! It takes him a full 8 hours to create one. They look and feel better then anything out on the market during the holidays! If he has his way they will be on Zen cart soon with the buyer being able to custom order (size/color combonations/fabric)

Maybe this winter I'll finally get around to it. I have a SIL who sews a lot. I'd probably buy some fabric for her with this prize.

  142. wow it's getting crowded in here. i hate crowds. but they're all quilters or want-to-be-quilters. so i'm o.k. this is the time of year i try to pin down what i am going to make for xmas. i have a few ideas i am contemplating. but my xmas present for others is that if you are wishing that you want to start sewing or that you are saying that you want to start quilting - that you make that wish come true. because it can be very rewarding.

I am a fabric FIEND, you hear? LOVE it. I'm not entirely sure what I would make, but I would definitely be making it at home on my old trusty sewing machine. Maybe some new fabrics would inspire me to greatness. :) One thing I would like to do is sew a few Amy Butler purses. I could use the fabrics for that! :)
    Thanks for a great giveaway!

So... I found the cutest shirt pattern with a trim waistline and three sleeve possibilities, and I think I'm going to make a whole collection of them out of different fabrics! Think anyone will notice? ;)
