Let The Holidays Begin~

Yes, Thanksgiving has come and gone.

We gave thanks.

We ate turkey, ham, stuffing, potatoes, rolls and pie. Oh there were a few yummy green beans in there somewhere. Corrie and family made the trek to MY part of Idaho. That's always a treat for us. Unfortunately, I became an "incubus of viral plague" and was loads of fun to be around. We had grand ideas of projects and such but nothing ever materialized.

I'm feeling human today, could we start over?? Since I won't be seeing Corrie Dawn before Christmas, it made me get my act together and have all my presents wrapped and ready to go under her tree.

It's a homemade Christmas for her. She occasionally reads this blog so I'll have to withhold actual pictures pre-wrapping. But I'm so happy with my little white boxes.
They are the perfect size for __________. I found them in the candy making isle at the craft store. It's a 1 pound candy box. I got 4 of them for like $2.

Another favorite of my wrapping entourage are these darling little gift cards and tags from Sarah Jane Studios.
You know how I'm partial to elfs!
Throw in some feather boa ribbon and it all says
"Let the Holidays Begin!"

  1. I hope you are feeling better! Phooey on your plans being ruined when Corrie was there to visit.
Love your packaging! I am going to look for plain white candy boxes! Cute ribbon on Corrie's gift too. I can't wait for you to show us what you made for her. :D

  2. I too hope you are feeling better Des! White boxes...you might be on to something there. I always worry that the kids will question as to why Santa has the same wrapping paper as we do!

  3. I spent the night before going to Des' looking for her Christmas gift. I'm sure I put somewhere really safe & so obvious that I would never forget. I looked all night long, finally gave up. Now, I'm home & get to start looking all over again. It's not homemade but it's pretty cool. Ugh...I have no idea. I've offered a reward. Glad you're feeling better. Adorable wrapping!

  7. Cute wrapping idea! I hope you are feeling better! Are you going to post any more recipes from the retreat (carmel sauce with pecans and the french toast)? Want to do it for Christmas morning! Thanks!

  8. I got sick too!!! It was awful.. I'm so glad you are feeling better. Holidays are the worst to be ill on.
I also have a favor to ask. I want to make a bag sturdy enough to hold my church bags, and maybe some of Paige's stuff. Do you know where I could find an easy pattern?
    Thanks!
