I hoard yarn...I do knit and use some of it, but I would really rather collect it!
ReplyDeleteOh, I totally hoard fabric too! I had to get rid of most of mine in preparation for a move a couple years ago, but once we settled into the new place, I was right back at it! This year I'm vowing to use up more than I bring home. Wish me luck! :-)

ReplyDeleteI'm trying not to hoard...it's definitely a genetic disorder, so I try to remind myself how awful it's going to be clear out my grandparents farm when the time comes!
ReplyDelete~Michelle (michellefox@gmail.com)
Never thought of it has hoarding, but I have built up quite a stash of fabrics and quilting books/magazines. My rational at the time of purchases was for my retirement years. Well...those years are here now, so guess I better start creating more :)
ReplyDeleteI hoard fabrics I can't re-buy! I'm getting much better about not hording other fabrics.
ReplyDeleteWhen I hear the word hoard, I refer to my stashes and stashes of fabrics in my sewing closet. Some are just to cute to cut. Just fun to look at. oohsaahsw@aol.com
ReplyDeleteGosh, great timing...I hoard fabric and crafty stuff. I have a tub of batiks I'm hoarding and decided last week to give half of them to a friend who is actually working on a batik quilt. Yay for her...and I am in mourning(sp).
ReplyDeleteI have no Japanese fabrics so that would not be adding to my hoarding.
Thanks for the chance.
I hope you didn't want me to answer with just one thing. Let's see, fabric, fabric, fabric, notions, buttons, patterns, sewing books, ribbon and trims and more fabric. I'm so bad that I'll sometimes buy a piece of fabric and love it so much that I'll have to buy another peice just like it so I can use one and keep one for later. I do the same thing, but on a smaller level, with note cards and stationary. True story. Ask my poor husband. Yes, it's a sickness. Just add it to the list.
ReplyDeletesheep fabric, wish i could hoard more fabric, as my stash is nada.
ReplyDeleteluv2knit@roadrunner.com

ReplyDeleteJeania
I love the word hoard! I hoard chocolate & fabrics. Fabric is more like an addiction though!
ReplyDeleteWell I hoard fabric! But I also hoard vintage clothing patterns. I doubt I will make many things from them but I cant let them go they are just so pretty!
ReplyDeleteI hoard everything even vaguely craft-related - there are bits of ribbon, stretchy cord that I pulled out of defunct bags, worn-out clothing that might have a few inches that could be salvaged, beads upon beads, fabric of course, and loads of yarn (and I don't knit or crochet - yet!).
ReplyDeleteYarn!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful fabric...of course I hoard fabric...but also old jeans that I plan to cut into squares to make quilts. They just never seem to make it into quilts. It drives my husband crazy!
ReplyDeleteI hoard weight! BLAH!

i can's say I really hoard. When I see a fabric I love I buy some. Then keep it until I find that perfect project for that project:)
ReplyDeleteWell, fabric of course! I'm sure I have more than can I ever use, but some of it I still hate cutting into.
ReplyDeleteThis is the first time I have visited your blog, and I have to tell you that I LOVE your header. It makes me want to add you to my blogroll right now! Well, I hoard fabric as well, but besides that I also hoard chocolate! I hide it from my kids so I won't have to share.
ReplyDeletemillkara [at] gmail.com
I have a feeling I am not alone here, but I hoard quilting/applique books, fabric(!) and patterns. Just in case all the quilt shops close, I'll have mine.
ReplyDeleteOkay, I know everyone says they hoard fabric, but I have fabric from my sister's mother-in-law's mother. And my sister is 55. So that's probably fabric that's been hoarded for hmmm--75 years?? Or more? What cute Japanese fabric! I love it!
ReplyDeleteI hoard socks with no mates. Those mates have to be around here somewhere, right?
ReplyDeleteAlso fabric of course, and clothes that don't fit. I could probably make something out of them, right?
I hoard crafty things. I like crafts and anything related to crafts gets set aside because some day when I actually get the time...I AM GOING TO USE IT! (We'll see!)
ReplyDeleteI know it's crazy, but I love children's books and have a difficult time passing them up. Super cute quilt and that fabric is darling! Have a good day!

Of course, I hoard fabric and shoes and books and and and
ReplyDeleteCUTE Fabric. I like the quilt done up with it too cuz I never know what to do with those miniatures.
ReplyDeleteSilly question - of course it is FABRIC! Years and years worth of fabric. More recently I have added scrapbooking supplies but my first love has always been fabric.
Yummy fabrics!!!
ReplyDeleteUntil a couple of months ago, I hoarded stuff I found in books from its previous readers, because I work in a public library, and people leave the weirdest things in books. I've found pressed flowers, bookmarks, all sorts of tickets (especially in travel guides). The most disgusting thing?? A cigarrette butt!!!! (I did not keep that one, though...).
Thanks for the giveaway! Of course, all 20 fingers crossed :-)

Oh I'm like so many of the commenters and seem to have hoards of hoards. Last weekend I was so caught up in "re-organizing" my buttons, which, of course, meant purchasing new containers for them and sorting them by colour, etc., that I didn't even think about the sheer volume of them. Then my sister came in and saw them taking up my entire coffee table - her jaw really did drop.
ReplyDeleteKaren
Can't never get enough of our muuu. I LOVE this pattern!! What a perfect way to stretch out little bits.
ReplyDeleteOh man...what don't I hoard! Fabric, craft stuff, Harry Potter things, Twilight things, yarn, sweaters, soaps, lotions... yeah, my house is a mess!
ReplyDeleteso cute!! i hoard fabric, of course; it's so hard to cut into your favorite pieces, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteI hoard fabric remnants- Why? I have no idea, but I can often find uses for them in little projects, and I can get them soooo cheap! I have WAY TOO MANY!
ReplyDelete~Shawna
Oh my, so cute! I am a huge fabric hoarder (and look at me, signing up to hope to win more that I can hoard!). I definitely hoard out of print fabrics, but also old vintage cotton rick rack... I should learn to start using this stuff - otherwise I'll need a bigger craft room!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway!
I've not had the opportunity to see any of the Japanese fabrics in person, but they certainly look cute online!
ReplyDeleteWhat do I hoard? Probably magazines. OK, not probably, I do hoard magazines. I'm trying to do better and just clip out the articles I want to save. I'm not sure this is going to work for me, because the last magazine I went through, when I was finished, all that was left in the to-be-thrown-away stack was the front and back covers and a few pages of ads. So basically, I still had most of the magazine with all the pages torn apart.
I'll be honest...it's library books. I will check out stuff on my card, my child's, and my husbands. I wish I had more money for fabric, then perhaps I would hoard fabric!!
ReplyDeleteI only hoard fabric, fabric, fabric, and more fabric.
ReplyDeleteHoarding, pfftt, what's that? Seriously though, I do have a habit of hoarding fabric, although it is not that bad since my mom still buys my fabric (I'm 16) and doesn't like to make impulse buys. I'm the teen leader for a 4-H sewing group, and we recently did a day on pincushions. It was kind of last minute, and the adult leader was sick, so it was up to me. I brought my stash for them to pick from, and that was PAINFUL! There were about 15 girls picking through my beautiful stash. That was hard! It was good for me though.
ReplyDeleteI hoard quilt kits; namely, baby quilt kits. The fabrics are just SEW soft & SEW cute that I just "have-to-have-them". When my new kits arrive, I immediately cut all the fabrics and store them with the pattern...that way they are ready and all I have to do is sit down and quilt away. The hard part is picking out which quilt I want to make...I have over 200 kits to choose from! Luckily, Spring is just right around the corner and with all the new babies blooming everywhere, I'm sure my kit stash will need refilling soon. Hmmm...I'd better get a head start now...yep, time to go quilt kit shopping - again! (No, I am NOT ready for any 12-step help program - YET!). Too funny :-)
ReplyDeleteI hoard any crafting supplies. Fabric, yarn, glue, popsicle sticks, paper, beads - and patterns for everything.
ReplyDeleteI'm a long-time book hoarder (although is it hoarding if you use them?), a scrapbook supply hoarder (more hoarding than using) and recently started on fabric. I have lots of great projects in mind but no time. Cute fabrics! Thanks for the contest!
ReplyDeleteI seem to hoard books, but am working on being more discerning. Now if I could only get my husband to stop bringing them home.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway!
Sometimes I hoard things I make, like quilts, wristlets, tablerunners because I don't want to give them a new home where they may or may not be taken care of.

I love these fabrics, I would hoard these, that's for sure. I hoard fabrics I really, really love and want to keep seeing over and over.
ReplyDeletei totally hoard magazines. It started with Rolling Stone. Currently it's Real Simple. I'm convinced I need these back issues. I eventually get sick of moving heavy boxes from new home to new home and ditch some of them (that's how Rolling Stone disappeared) but those Real Simples. I could make a castle from them or something.
ReplyDeleteare you kidding???

ReplyDeleteLove the fabrics, I'm trying to BUILD my stash. I would have to admit that I hoard Old clothes that I've outgrown. I'm not talking baby clothes here, I'm talking adult clothes. I keep hoping that somehow, someway I will finally be able to fit into my size 6 jeans again. I can't bring myself to part with them... if only I didn't love snickers bars and pizza rolls... : )Thanks for the opportunity.
