Red is coming to YOU!
Whether you're celebrating in the USA or just enjoying the weekend in your neck of the country. Have a happy weekend!! See you next week. Red, White and YOU!
4 fat quarters for 2 lucky readers today.
We don't celebrate US day here in Malaysia but its my brother's birthday. We should be celebrating his birthday but he will be going outstation so most likely either shopping or working on my master's (quilting) projects.
ReplyDeleteWEeelll, since I live in Canada we had our festivies today, July 1st. We took the fam to the parade downtown and then went to the grandparents for a bbq supper. Happy Birthday Canada!! WOOO! So this weekend I will be doing nothing. Probably cleaning out the basement, but happy 4th of July to all you US-ers out there!
ReplyDeleteWe're going kayaking on Friday and then having the kids over on Saturday.
ReplyDeletei'll be bummed that we had to leave the beach before the 4th. no sitting on the beach watching the fireworks. there's always next year! oh well. i've got sewing to do.
ReplyDeleteNo plans...will play it by ear...we are so boring, it is sad.
ReplyDeleteThis weekend will be a quiet one with plenty of sun and Tennis - finals weekend at Wimbledon so i shall be watching. Have a great
ReplyDelete4th July all in the USA.
A cookout and softball!!!
ReplyDeleteHappy 4th to all USA-ians!
ReplyDeleteIt is a great holiday, so enjoy it!
I love those reds - gorgeous!
We have a BBQ scheduled for the 3rd and the 5th, odd - none on the 4th. Mostly we are going to take advantage of the 3 day weekend to clean the garage. Not fun, but very necessary.
ReplyDeleteLove the reds, thanks for the great giveaway.
hershey park with friends!! i love that place and haven't been in years... should be a blast!
ReplyDeleteNo plans as of yet. Right now we're recovering from a few days with the grandbabies, so a quiet weekend sounds nice!
ReplyDeleteWe will visit the Nana and take her a couple of presents. I made a long scarf to that matches her purse for her to tie around her hat.
ReplyDeleteWe will also have some type of cookout while we are there. I am expecting/hoping that she wants a seafood boil.
I am also hoping we can see the fireworks from her new place.
We celebrate with a cookout and a late night watching fireworks. It will be my daughters first time staying up late enough to see them...that is, IF she stays awake late enough to see them...my husband will stay with her and Ill be bringing our 18 month old son home for bed at normal time (and 'piece' and quiet to quilt!! for myself). Thanks for the giveaway!

Happy 4th July to everyone!!!
ReplyDeleteWe don't celebrate it in the UK (obviously) but this weekend is the end of school for my daughter, so we are going to BBQ, and have water fights and celebrate no more school for 10 weeks. Yay!
We are taking off as a family for a nice picnic somewhere and then to a great local fireworks event that night!! I am loving those reds!!
ReplyDeleteDon't really have any plans except to hang out and sew!
ReplyDeletehmmm...really we will be taking advantage of the time off and working on our leaking pop-up so we can start our vacation next weekend! Hopefully the hubby feels up to it since the accident!
ReplyDeletecliffandrobinand2monsters@yahoo.com
We are celebrating my nephew's and my daughter's birthdays. They were born one year and one week apart:)
ReplyDeleteHey Des! I've been missing your posts!
ReplyDeleteWe have no grand plans for the long weekend, just hope to enjoy the nice weather. Personally, I am going on a basting frenzy today (6 ready to go!), so I plan to be quilting every spare moment I can find. :-)
I am currently cutting fabric for a red white and blue quilt... those would match perfectly!
ReplyDeleteI'm from Canada, so we had our Canada Day yesterday. It was suppose to rain, and it ended up being the most beautiful day. The kids played outside all day and we had a barbecue with family. Have a wonderful 4th of July.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, I have to work, but we are still going to make time to do some sparklers and watch the fireworks with our kids. I'm sure we'll hit the swimming pool too. It's so hot here!
ReplyDeleteOh, and this being my favorite (tied with Thanksgiving) holiday, I always take pics of my kids in red, white, and blue outfits -- so that's gonna happen too.
We're off to a picnic with old, old, old friends (!) who are selling their home on the lake and moving to a condo--the end of an era. But we expect to go out with a bang!!
ReplyDeleteNo plans for fireworks, but I'm hoping to head to a couple of flea markets. That's my kind of celebrating! :)
ReplyDeleteWe are hopping between cookouts, ending up at a friends house with a good view of the fireworks in downtown Nashville.
ReplyDeleteI have no plans, but will probably watch and listen to the fireworks from the comfort of my home.

My husband and I will actually be going to Canada to celebrate. There is a festival each year called the Friendhip Festival that is on both sides of the border, in Buffalo, NY and Fort Erie, ONT. We love to go to the Canadian festival. Then we'll go visit friends who have a cottage on Lake Erie in Ontario.
ReplyDeleteWe'll be back stateside in time for the Fireworks on The Niagara River, we'll be sitting on rocks on the shore with 6 of our grandkids.

Hubby's brother is coming to visit so will keep them busy with a little list of repair projects. Fine food prepared on the grill to keep their strength up ;)
ReplyDeleteCool weather predicted for the weekend which will be a welcome. Our 3 year old GD will be spending the night and could be her first time to watch the night time fireworks.....if she can stay awake.
A happy and safe 4th of July to everyone.
I was planning on a trip to the zoo, but that turned into a trip to get my wisdom teeth out!
ReplyDeleteWe are going to cook some good food and do fireworks!
ReplyDeleteWe will be having a family BBQ but the real celebration will come next weekend when one of our best friends comes up to celebrate his return from Iraq.
ReplyDeleteFamily, Fun, Friends, and FIREWORKS! For the Fourth, our Fun starts Friday. Our Family arrives and we go to the Family Farm For Fireworks. On Saturday, we go to a Fantastic Fireworks display with Friends!
ReplyDeleteMy celebration will start with a cook out with good friends on the 3rd. On the 4th, I'll drive to Chicago to pick up my son at the airport. He has been on an exchange in Germany. What a good day to come back to the US! We'll take in the fireworks that night! Hurray for the red, white, and blue!
ReplyDeleteWe're going up to my husband's grandfather's house. It's on a gorgeous lake in Northern WI. Grampie passed away last October, so this will be our first 4th of July without him, but we'll be having our traditional campfire and s'mores and singing his favorite campfire songs in his memory!
ReplyDeletewell i was born in the stats.... but i live in israel so i have no festive plans...
ReplyDeletei am still waiting for the day that i'll be able to moove back to the stats, where i feel most at home!
No big plans here. Baking tomorrow (actually prep work for baking), baking and Farmer's Market on Saturday, and then no real plans after that. We usually buy a bunch of fireworks and have friends over and throw a big bash for the 4th, but unfortunately that's not going to work for us this year, so we'll have to see what happens. I'm sure we'll get to see fireworks somewhere! : )
ReplyDeleteWe have a to so list about a mile long at our house. So we're gonna put everyone to work on that for the fourth :) And then of course, FIREWORKS!!
ReplyDeleteWe have a big fundraiser planned for the crisis pregnancy center where I volunteer on Friday which will be an all day event. Then I plan on working on a quilt which I am making for my daughter and her intended. They are to be married on Aug. 1, 2009 and I want to get it done in time.
ReplyDeleteI love the 4th of July. Fresh vegetables from the garden, picnics, and fireworks. We have a family get together in which you must bring dessert in red, white or blue. Then we vote on the best one and the winner gets a small prize. It is fun and funny some times. Thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteWe've invited the in-laws and my parents over for a cookout. Hopefully the 100+ degree weather won't deter us too much. We'll just stay inside with the AC.
ReplyDeleteAnna
P.S. And I have tomorrow off from work and hope to sew!
We celebrate Canada Day on the 1st and it's a big BBQ, family, friends and fun. Hope you have a wonderful 4th of July.
ReplyDeleteWe're driving to UT to spend the weekend with my in laws and then on Sunday we're driving to ID to be with my fam! I can't wait. Thanks for the cute giveaway.
ReplyDeleteIs it bad that we aren't doing anything at all? We have BBQs the day before and after and will just stay home on the 4th. We're boring. Happy 4th!
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful fabrics! I am planning to soak in sunshine this holiday weekend. We have been lacking in sunshine here in New England.
ReplyDeleteSince my week off work will be about to end, I plan on staying at home and crying all day...
ReplyDeleteI want more vacations!!!!!!!

This is my favorite Holiday, even more than Christmas (loud gasp) we will have a picnic, play kick ball, bean bag toss, Wii, swim , eat, play more and end up at the fireworks, I adore this day, and thank you for the chance to win this very yummy fabric!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful prints! We're just having a lazy day off - catching some of the festivities and spending time with family. Have a nice long weekend!
ReplyDeleteWe just finished getting our first crop hay in because of all the rain! We are TIRED! A quiet weekend is what we are hoping with breakfast at mom's and maybe a drive to the fireworks! Love the red! I got my bowl and now I am making my trifle (but no potluck to go to)!
ReplyDeleteI plan to weed my garden and clean my house! Whoopee!! Bet you can't beat that for fun! We're listing our house on Monday because my husband starts a new job out of state soon and I will be home alone until the house sells. Hmmm...a couple of weeks or a couple of years? Yikes! Wanna buy a house??
ReplyDeleteOoo, what cute fabric! Plans for this weekend...fireworks tomorrow (lame that it's on the 3rd, but we live right next to the stadium here, so we have free front row seats!), hopefully have a baby this weekend. Wouldn't be cool to have your birthday on the 4th of July? If not, then maybe the cruise in (old car parade) on Sunday.
ReplyDeleteWe'll be grilling, playing some board games outside and maybe even some fireworks. We originally had other plans, but the teens are working so we decided to stick closer to home.
ReplyDeleteWe aren't doing much, power washing the house, the company comes the next day, then the fun will begin, painting! What are you doing? I knew you'd have an awesome giveaway today for the 4th! Thanks.
ReplyDeleteWe're going to my in-laws for some fun in the sun, and on the 4th we'll go to an event put on by the Boy Scouts where they do a flag ceremony, have a little band, then a pancake breakfast. In the afternoon, family party, whoohoo. Fun and busy day.
ReplyDeleteThis weekend I shall be sewing, we had our Canada Day July 1.
ReplyDeleteLove the fabrics! I'm heading to Lake Powell for the holiday--yeah!
ReplyDeleteWill have a stay at home time, as way too hot in S.Tex to go to parks. Thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI am having my 1st giveaway today too!
My in-laws always barbecue a hog. Yeah, a real hog. They've been doing this at least 34 years. That's how long I've known them. Everyone brings a dish and we have too much food. They invite a lot of people in the neighborhood (most are related). At night we will go to Franklin, TN fireworks.
ReplyDeleteHave a happy 4th.
We're putting a roof on my Grandma's house this weekend, ugh. I wish I could say that I'll be sewing, at the lake, or basically doing anything fun that is not work.
ReplyDeleteLooks like we will be having a small family gathering at my in laws for food and fireworks!
ReplyDeletefun fourth giveaway!! My sister and fam are coming to visit and watch fireworks.
ReplyDeletePool party with the whole fam at my aunts house, and then watching "stadium of fire" fireworks from her backyard.
ReplyDeleteFun giveaway! The 4th of july is my favorite holiday! Every year, we go to my grandma and grandpas who live on a lake. They have both passed away in the last 2 years, but we are keeping up the tradition! Such good food, family, friends and FIREWORKS! Now all I need to add is FABRIC :)!

ReplyDeleteWe are going to get together with friends, maybe go to the lake, probably BBQ something. Love the red fabrics!!!
ReplyDeleteIt's up in the air for us. Our new little one will only be a week old so we might just be sitting at home.
ReplyDeleteSo far, our only plans are to work in the yard. Fortunately the weather is supposed to be fabulous. Who knows, maybe we will do something spontaneous!
ReplyDeleteWe will have 2 grandkids to entertain this weekend. We have planned play-doh play and finger paints with pudding. BBQ on Saturday and fireworks at the local park. Then grandma and grandpa will take a nap on Sunday...LOL

ReplyDeleteBeautiful fabrics.
Great fabrics. We had great plans but got cancelled so we will just stay home where it is cool and drink iced tea.
ReplyDeleteAll my children are coming to visit and celebrate with our towns activities. Can't wait for them to come.
ReplyDeleteThis weekend the children and I are going to cook out on the grill, and play on the water slide. Or should I say, I'll be cooking on the grill while the children play on the water slide.
ReplyDeleteI think maybe the beach and a BBQ. We'll see how crowded the beach is though.
ReplyDeleteSaturday we'll meet some family members for a picnic brunch at the local state park. Then in the evening we'll be at a neighbor's for a BBQ and some fireworks. Sunday we'll continue the celebration at a family member's home for an afternoon of music, family, and food.
ReplyDeleteI hope you both have a wonderful weekend!!! Happy Independence Day!

Greetings from Sedona Arizona! We will be driving home on the 4th and hopefully make it in time for our annual fireworks viewing. We visit friends who live on top of the mountain overlooking the Rose Bowl. We can see over 20 local firework shows from the yard! Sunday is my birthday and I will probably be doing laundry. Thanks for the give away. You can never have too many patriotic fabrics!
