Congrats to Tiffaney! #57
I'll have to tally up & see what was
the most popular print today.
I'm curious.
My favorite today is hula girl.
How is this for Japanese fabric?
It's darling,
even better in person.
There are glittery sparkles
on the fabric.
We've put together a fun collection
of Japanese linen fabrics.
Kicking it off is....
Little Red Riding Hood.
Then there is:
Cinderella,
Mermaid
Monkeys
Matryoshka dolls
Hula Girls
Frog Prince
Tinkerbell
Apples
Pinocchio
Emperor's New Clothes
and Peter Pan & Captain Hook
Available on etsy in
5" charm squares
or
10" squares & fat quarters.
A great way to get
a little bit
of it all!
Today's giveaway is a
half yard
(or 2 fat quarters)
of any of the Japanese prints.
To enter the drawing,
leave a comment about which one's your favorite.
If you have a good hula story,
include that too :-).
Random drawing later tonight.
Definitely the hula girls. :)
ReplyDeleteI love all of this. Gets me in the Aloha spirit! Difficult to pick a favorite, but I think the Hula girls are so very cute. I love this sort of fabric and am dreaming up creative ideas to use it.

I love the hula Aloha girls. The first one up top. I'm not much of a hula dancer, but I do love sewing and arts and crafts!
ReplyDeleteI love the Matryoshka dolls - been designing some in cross stitch, so the fabric would work great with them. Never hula'ed, but would a hula hoop work? I fell trying to teach my daughter (then 5 now 29) and I broke my arm. I was the talk of the kindergarten class gossip.
ReplyDeletei have a question, can people from the Netherlands enter the contest?
ReplyDeletePS. i love the matryoshka dolls and peter pan.
greetz
I love the Minny Muu!
ReplyDeleteThank you!

ReplyDeleteLove everything. especially the pale pink print on white dominant background. That looks definetely pretty. Hope to win.
ReplyDeleteMy favourite is the one with Red Riding Hood - I've got it already, but you just can't be bored with this fabric, so having more would be sooo awesome!

ReplyDelete=) Great collection!
Unfortunately, I have no hula stories but I do love the red riding hood print.
ReplyDeleteLoooooove the hula girls - had a holiday in Hawaii two years ago on our way home to NZ after visiting our daughter in Canada to celebrate her 21st birthday. Was such a special time to join in a hula demonstration although my rather unco-ordinated hips didn't move as fluidly as the lovely Hawaiaan girls!!!! Ciao
ReplyDeleteNo good hula story. Just the thought makes my back hurt. I like the Cinderella and the Frog Prince - drawn to the colored backgrounds.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh! They are all soooo sweet... I'd choose the Hula Girls - love all the colours!!
ReplyDeleteI'm in love with the Little Red Riding Hood fabric. Cute!

ReplyDeleteSorry I've no hula story... well, just thinking of my friend who used to live in Hawaii and showed me a photo of his garden. He had placed a bathtub, under a mango tree and he said he could see the ocean from the bath... Would that count as a hula story??? LOL

ReplyDeleteWonderful! I like red riding hood and frog prince.
ReplyDeleteNo hula story here. But I love the fabric too cute.

ReplyDeleteI adore the monkeys and the hula girls. I wish there were some monkeys doing the hula in grass skirts.
ReplyDeleteI am planning a "tropical island" quilt so I would probably take the hula girls.
I love the Cinderella! My daughter has always been my little Cinderella. Thanks for the chance to win!
ReplyDeleteThe frog prince is my favourite! The frog is HUGE compared to the princess, kissing that frog would be scary, a little frog, not so much! Thanks for the chance to win!

i love little red riding hood and peter pan! i do have a hula story...a couple of years ago, my little family (me, my husband, and my 6 month old) went to hawaii with my parents and my brother and his wife. we went to a luau at a hotel, and they told my mom, my sister in law and myself that we won a prize. the prize was that we had to hula along with about 10 other people in front of everyone at the luau. i'm not a dancer, and i'm not a fan of being in front of crowds, so i'm pretty sure my face was red THE ENTIRE TIME. but it's a good memory. :)
ReplyDeleteNo hula story I am afraid. but the girls are cute. as are the fairy stories like red riding hood and sleeping beauty. love the apples.. I think they would be great in combination!
ReplyDeleteIlove the hula girls and russian dolls, and oh the little rede riding hood is just the cutest! Thank you for a chance to win!
ReplyDeleteSadly no funny hula story- but planning firmly to move to Hawaii in the next few years!
ReplyDeleteI have been eyeing up the Little Red Riding Hood with blue trees for some time (extremely difficult to find where I live) so it would be wonderful to try that (or the Emperor's New Clothes, which made me grin)
If I do get lucky, may I please pay for the postage as I am in the UK :) It would be only fair, seeing as you are treating us to some fabric!
little red, of course :) just too cute!
ReplyDeletecandy at fiber dot net
Little red is by far my favorite, I have been stalking this fabric for a while and would love to win it!
ReplyDeleteFun hula story:
When I was a youth my mom worked the young women at our church and coordinated some really fun activities for us. One time we had a cultural day and each room at the church was from a different place around the world. Oddly enough they picked Hawaii for one of those places and the missionaries, 2 19 year old boys, dressed up in hula skirts over their suits and taught us young girls to do a hula dance. It was hilarious and so much fun :) We have some pretty good pictures too... im sure that created some fun pictures for their mission scrapbook in later years haha.
They are all great but the Little Red Riding Hood is so adorable. Do you think when my son moves to Japan he will buy fabric for me? Doubtful. I guess you will just have to be my source.
ReplyDeletethey are all so cute! but my favourite is Cinderella! Thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI like the monkeys. My husband and I went to HI and were able to enjoya luau but nothing much to share about it.
ReplyDeleteThe monkeys are great!
ReplyDeleteOh my, how can anyone choose a favorite of these, they are all so adorable! Although, I might like the monkeys and Red Riding Hood the best.

ReplyDeleteHere's a hula...er...surfing story for you: I lived in Hawaii for year. I met my now husband while he was stationed at Pearl harbor naval station. One weekend we went out to north shore for surfing. My husband had taken a tourist kiddie lesson in wikiki the week before and thought he was a badass. we went out to the toughest beach possible and he got in the water. long story short, he didn't have a clue, got sucked out to seas by a rip tide and had to be rescued by not one but 2 lifeguards. He never went surfing again. we laugh about it now, but at the time It was scary...well, for him anyway. I laughed my butt of as soon as I knew he was safe.

Oh most def the Hawaiian Aloha Hula Girl is my favorite and oh so appropriate. On a trip to Maui years ago we encountered so many newlyweds from Japan. They were so cute and attentive to one another (remember those days?). At times there were more Japanese couples on the beach than any other group! Thanks for the chance.
ReplyDeleteI love Peter Pan and Captain Hook. These are oh so cute:)
ReplyDeleteHi Corrie,

ReplyDeleteWe moved to Honolulu two years ago. Right after we got here a woman in our ward was putting together a hula performance for our ward Christmas party so I signed up. It was a bunch of white girls trying to learn how to hula...we probably looked so goofy, but it was so much fun. I would love the hula girls fabric. cassidydawn(at)gmail(dot)com
ReplyDeletethose apples are so cute! The only Hula I have experienced is Hula hoops potato snack...

ReplyDeleteAre those monkeys I see? I am all about monkey fabric! Have quite a collection but have never seen this one. Love it. Sorry, no good hula story for me. The closest I've come to Hawaii is western Ohio. LOL

ReplyDeleteThe princess and frog fabric is just darling! Thanks for offering the giveaway! :)
ReplyDeleteIt's a toss up between Little red riding hood and the Matryoshka dolls. I like them both. Hula story? My grandparents went to Hawaii in the late 60's and brought back a hula skirt and a coconut bra. They were such a unique delight for Texas farm kids. So we always pulled those out of the drawer and played like Hula dancers when we went over to the grandparents.
ReplyDeleteI bought a charm pack of some of these prints from you last spring! I loved them the first time I saw them. I'd love to add Little Red to my collection!
ReplyDeleteI think I like the Hula Girls the best!
ReplyDeleteAloha Little Red! Wish me luck!
ReplyDeleteLittle Red Riding Hood! My fingers are crossed!
ReplyDeleteThose monkeys are awesome! My girls would want them, but I think I'd selfishly use them for my selfish self. :)
