Little Red Riding Hood was a little silly to go to her Grandmother's house in the woods all by herself! I loooooove this line of fabric :_)
ReplyDeleteI always wondered even as a child why she was allowed to walk thru the woods alone.
ReplyDeleteI had a teacher in Business-school who said that the red hood symbolizes the female menstrual - ARG. I'd heavy discussions with that teacher!
ReplyDeleteTwo of my daughters have played "Little Red" in the musical "Into The Woods". Cute, cute fabric, thanks for the give away chance.
ReplyDeleteOh, I want! I'm trying to decide if I want to read The Sisters Red (a modern adaptation) for the fairy tale challenge I'm doing this year. Unfortunately it has some bad reviews, so I'm torn! Maybe I'll stick Red on my list of stories to redo ;)
ReplyDeleteI used to imagine myself as a Red Riding Hood when I'm a little girl. Meet the Wolf that ate my grandma :)
ReplyDeleteRed Riding Hood is actually a really scarry fairy tale with a little girl alone in the wood and a dead wolf in the end. But I love aneela's fabric line, it's such a little cutie!
ReplyDeleteThanks fro the giveaway and greetings from germany, Hildy
hildy@ebertzeder.de
I had nightmares about large wolves as a child, completely due to the story of little red. Though my son has a new version where they all live happily ever after (except the wolf).
ReplyDeleteCute fabric line!
ReplyDeleteWhen I was 2 or 3 years old I was Little Red Riding Hood for Halloween. They didn't have a cape unfortunately, but I had what looked like a red fabric shower cap and a red dress. It was super bright red! Yikes! This fabric is way cuter. :)
ReplyDeleteGrandma, what big ears you have!!
ReplyDeleteI love the story - it's one of my favourites!
When I was small,I keep asking my teacher how the wolf can eat Little Red grandma? The story makes me not to walk alone especially in the wood...(when I was small) Thanks for the giveaway!!
ReplyDeleteShe was "Hoodwinked!" My favorite version of the "Red Riding Hood" story. Have seen it dozens of times with my grandsons. We each have our favorite line from the movie. Love the fabric line too!
ReplyDeleteI love walking and I love story tales. So let us walk. I'm walking every day with my black fox in the woods at home in the Netherlands. At home I'm always busy with fabric. I love your desingn. greetings from Liesbeth
ReplyDeleteAs little Red in the animated version - she rocked!!! Big bad wolf got a bad rap!! ha ha!!
ReplyDeleteWhen I was a little girl, I wanted a red cape just like Little Red Riding Hood - actually, I still want one now!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous fabric line, thanks for the chance to win :)
Our school put on "Little Red Rocking Hood" a couple of years ago. Lots of fun ... just like Aneela's gorgeous fabrics.
ReplyDeleteI like Red Riding hood especially the one with the three little pigs. :)
ReplyDeleteThe red cape just made it easier for the wolf to see her!
ReplyDeleteWhen I think about Red Riding Hood, the movie Hoodwinked comes to mind. It's very silly...but my SIL had to share it with me...so that's all I can think about. =)
ReplyDeleteThanks for a lovely giveaway!
She is one of my favourite bed time story, after Snow White of course.
ReplyDeleteI think the song "Little Red Riding Hood" is pretty funny. I believe it's by Sam The Sham & The Pharaohs.
ReplyDeleteCan't decide whethr I like the mushrooms or the foxes better ... what a sweet line!
ReplyDeleteLOL. I see Lisa Marie's comment and was going the same path thru the woods. I love to sing "LIttle Red Riding Hood" at karaoke. (although I haven't done karaoke in a while.) I am old enough to remember the song on the radio when it was a hit for Sam the Shama and the Pharoahs! But I was merely a small child at the time.
ReplyDeleteHey there, Little Red Riding Hood. You sure are lookin' good. And you're everything that a big bad wolf could want (hoowwwwwllllll)
Love, love, love those foxes! I was little red riding hood for several halloweens as a child - such fun memories!
ReplyDeleteI remember my grandmother reading Little Red Riding Hood to me when I was sick in bed. Those foxes are adorable!!
ReplyDeleteI love the little blue birds best but they are all sweet.
ReplyDeleteWhen I read my daughters this book I substitute one of their names in like "little red riding Beatrix" and they laugh and laugh!
ReplyDeleteMy husband and I go to flea markets and garage sales. We found the sweetest vintage Golden Book of Little Red Riding Hood. Our grandbabes were here for the weekend last week and that's the book they picked for a bedtime story. When you think about it, it's a wonder they didn't have nightmares, lol! Thanks for the giveaway.
ReplyDeleteThis fabric is adorable...and what is there to say about Red Riding Hood? Most people my age have lots of fun memories connected to the story, but when I had two little daughters, the story scared them so bad they had nightmares, so that was the end of the storybook for my girls. Funny, cause Hansel and Gretel didn't bother them at all, LOL. Hugs...
ReplyDeleteLoved Red's sense of fashion. Such a sweetheart taking care of her grand. Great new fabric line!
ReplyDeleteim kinda scared of this story. but aneela sure does work magic on bringing the best bits to life. i love those dash marks!
ReplyDeleteRed Riding Hood is a classic tale. Her fabric brings out the magic of the story that everyone hears as a child.
ReplyDeleteI am, and always have been, a love of anything fairy tale related. Especially re-tellings and alternate takes on the originals. Imagine my joy when I saw they were doing a Red Riding Hood Movie. Imagine my complete and utter disappointment when I saw the AWFUL movie. The only thing that kept me sitting there was Gary Oldman (who I still think lost a bet and was forced to be in that travesty). I think winning this charm pack would heal the deep wounds left on my inner child by that movie, not trying to guilt trip you in to picking me... I'm just saying :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance!

I love the fabric much more than the fairytale. The idea that the woodsman chopped the wolf in half and Grandma popped out unscathed really disturbed me as a child.
ReplyDeleteOh--what perfect fabric. My sister was Little Red Riding Hood for almost every Halloween of her childhood. I would love to make her something from this adorable fabric.
ReplyDeleteI think Little Red's cape was probably the origins of my own lifelong quest for the perfect hooded red cape/sweater.
ReplyDeleteGreat fairy tale and love the fabric, Red Riding Hood sure is looking good.

Want, want, want! (thanks for the chance to have, have, have)
ReplyDeleteWith all the Little Red Riding Hood fabric out there I am determined that it will be part of my daughter's bedroom when she moved into her big girl bed. Love this new line and so excited that precuts are available!
ReplyDeleteoh!! I have loved this fabric since I first saw it. Would I ever love to win some.
ReplyDeletehttp://cbrirish.blogspot.com/
Love, love that fabric! Would make a great baby quilt! and an I spy quilt with the left overs! Count me in!
ReplyDeleteWhat Big eyes you have...the better to see my quilting with. Hehe! Thanks
ReplyDeleteLove your little red riding hood fabric...now I can't get that song out of my head LOL!!
ReplyDeleteIf I was Litte Red. I woulda kicked the wolf butt myself.. not needed the woodsman's help :)
ReplyDeleteCan't think of anything to say that someone else hasn't already said...love pinsandneedles comment!
ReplyDeleteI'm just preparing a Little Red Riding Hood activity for the library!! Actually, the children don't know it's Little Red Riding Hood, but they have to guess it's her after they read a paragraph in which she is talking about herself. I love coincidences! :-D

Red Riding Hood, Oh my. When I was a senior in high school, the junior class created a "prophecy" for each senior. They predicted I would be a kindergarten teacher, but parents complained that the only story I read to the children was Red Riding Hood. You see, my boyfriend and future husband's nick name was "Red".
ReplyDeleteI love this fabric and would totally use it for a baby quilt. Thanks for an awesome giveaway!
I have thought of making a wall quilt with Red Riding Hood going to grandma's house with the wolf peeking out from behind a tree. Maybe I should draw it all out and make it up since I just found out I will be a grandmother again.
ReplyDeleteRed Riding Hood scared me as a child but the illustration were so wonderful in the books. I had to skip the bad parts.
ReplyDeleteI particularly like the one at the very top of this blog. :) She and her buddy are so sweet!
ReplyDeleteI love the movie Hoodwinked about Red.
This is my favorite line from Aneela.
Such a cute fabric line! My kids love Little Red Riding Hood - we've read so many variations on the classic story.
ReplyDeleteAs a child I loved the story about little red riding hood. I thought it was funny when people thought it was scarey. I guess I would picture a wolf dressed in my grandmother's clothes and I could not get past how funny that would be. This would make such a darling quilt that I could share the memory with my two girls.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
I was never a huge fan of the story growing up. I always had too many "how" and "why" questions but I do love this fabric line. Thanks for the chance to win.
ReplyDeleteCute fabric! Red Riding Hood is adorable! Thanks for the chance to win!
ReplyDeleteI've always loved the story. A red cape always makes me think of LRRH! This is darling fabric!
ReplyDeleteMy granddaughter would love something made of this fabric
ReplyDeleteMy granddaughter has a PINK riding hood I made her 5 years ago. And it still fits!! I always liked this story. Too bad she can't take the bottle of wine to her Grandmothers house now.
ReplyDeleteLittle red riding hood has always been one of my favorite stories. So I just love this fabric.
ReplyDeleteI still have my pop-up Little Red Riding Hood book from when I was a kid.
ReplyDeleteNot far from where I live is a lovely spot to go for lunch called Pickity Place in Mason, NH. (http://www.pickityplace.com/) It is the house that was the inspiration for Little Red Riding Hood illustrations in the original little golden book! There is a little room set up with the bed and the wolf and a sleeping cat. It is just too cute, and the meals are always fresh and fabulous. The menu changes each month, using vegetables, herbs and other things grown right there. And they have a couple of fun gift shops to poke around in.
ReplyDeleteMGM
Red Riding Hood is one sweet little cookie! I love this collection!
ReplyDeleteRed Riding Hood sang "nice is different than good" in the play Into the Woods :)
ReplyDeleteOh so cute! I've been kicking myself that I didn't get any at market!
ReplyDeleteLove Little Red Riding Hood or Caperucita Roja in Spanish! Love this fabric!
ReplyDeleteI always loved Little Red! I made my oldest daughter (a red-head!) a little red riding hood when she was young. I still wonder how the wolf shaloowed granny whole and how the woodsman got her out alive!
ReplyDeleteI've always loved Little Red Riding Hood, and this fabric is super cute!
ReplyDeleteI'm afraid when I hear "Red Riding Hood" all that ever comes to mind is the punchline to a filthy joke. I can't even remember the joke.
ReplyDeleteLRR: "Gobble Gobble Gobble .. Doesn't anyone &@*! around here anymore?"
Totally unsuitable. I apologise. But you did ask ...
We have an old Reader's Digest Illustrated Story book from my childhood with Red Riding Hood in it that is just falling apart because we've loved it so much. Thanks for the chance.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was 4 my mom made me a Little Red Riding Hood costume for Halloween. I was a very cute Little Red Riding Hood.
ReplyDeleteLittle Red Riding Hood and Hansel and Gretal were my favorite tales as a child.
ReplyDeleteMy brother used to scare the poof out of me telling me about the Big Bad Wolf! :)
Red Riding hood is my all time favorite childhood story. We have several versions of the story in books, and my girls even bought me the little movies that came out. I even got to dress my daughter up once as red riding hood! cutest little thing in that red cape! Id love to have a chance at these fabrics to make a special quilt JFM (just for me, rare as that is for a quilter).
ReplyDeleteA couple years ago I had to be Red Riding Hood for a last minute party, and I have to admit that I was the worst Red Riding Hood ever! A little ashamed of that. Maybe I'll have to try again in the future.
ReplyDeleteAs a child I couldn't understand why she didn't realize it was a wolf dressed in her Grandmother's clothing? I would have been able to see the difference between my Grammie and a wolf. Red Riding Hood wasn't the brightest...just sayin'.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the awesome giveaway!
I've always been a bit afraid of the story Little Red Riding Hood. My husband has the new movie with Amanda Seyfried on our DVR and I'm refusing to watch it with him.
ReplyDeleteI think she is a sweet girl...going to visit her grandmother and all.
ReplyDeleteLove her cloak, I should make one for the dress-up box . . .
ReplyDeletered riding hood...such a sweet girl! i always loved this story growing up.
ReplyDeleteMy five year old grandson just loves the story but of course his favorite character is the woodsman who saves "Grammy" and of course Little Red Riding Hood.
ReplyDeleteVery cute fabrics. My granddaughter would love them.
ReplyDeleteThis is such a sweet fabric line!! Thanks for the chance!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful collection.
ReplyDeleteMy daughter love the story ...
My daughter loved this story when she was little. I love the fabric with the foxes.
ReplyDeleteFabric is adorable - I love the little fox... I always thought she was not the brightest little girl, but had great fashion sense!
ReplyDeleteMy daughter started out wanting to do a red cape like red riding hood at Halloween. She was diverted at the last minute but it would have been a fun idea.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was in 5th grade, my mother made me a red hooded cape for a medieval play I was in. Now 30, I have used that cape so many times and I still love it. Maybe deep down, I am red riding hood, or want to be. Well, maybe not. I'm not a big fan of wolves eating my grandma.
ReplyDeleteSince I didn't know what a riding hood was when I was young, I thought this little girl was a red person! Lovely of this fabric to set me straight :)
ReplyDeleteI always liked that red riding hood was taking goodies to her Grandma! the fabric line is so cute!
ReplyDeleteI love little red riding hood - it was one of my favorite stories growing up! And I absolutely ADORE this fabric!! :)
ReplyDeleteIt's amazing to me that so many stories make the wolf a bad guy. Not that he doesn't appear to be a bad guy. He's actually pretty good at it...
ReplyDeleteRed riding hood was one of my favorite fairy tales, I'd love to win some of the fabric!
ReplyDeleteI love this fabric! Whats not to love? A charming little girl in a red cape. Her foxy companion and a beautiful forest full of woodland creatures and cute little mushrooms!
ReplyDeleteI want to know where the "Riding" in Red Riding Hood comes in. In all the stories I've heard/read... she's *walking* through the woods. Does she have a horse? What's it's name? Why isn't she *riding* to Grandma's house? :o)
ReplyDeleteLove this fabric line. It's on my wish list.
ReplyDeleteLove little red! I used to think this story was so enchanting. I grew up on a farm and we only lived half a mile from Grandma's house & I would walk there all the time :) Good memories!
ReplyDeleteI could never relate to this story. Grandma lived far away and even if she was close my mother would never have allowed me to walk in the woods...and while I dreamed of a red cloak (still do) the chances of getting one were remote. :) But I red it faithfully to my little ones! blessings, marlene
ReplyDeleteSUCH AN ADORABLE COLLECTION!
ReplyDeleteEVERYONE WANTS THIS FABRIC!
I'VE ALWAYS WONDERED "WHY IS LITTLE RED RIDING HOOD ALONE IN THE WOODS?" THANKS SO FOR SHARING!
Red Riding Hood - too scary for me but I really love the fabric. Thanks for a chance.
ReplyDeleteI'm really wanting to see that Red Riding Hood movie that came out last year. I keep seeing it on the movie channels but always like halfway through...I've got to remember to look it up and DVR it.
ReplyDeleteThis fabric is so cute!
ReplyDeleteIt was safer back in the olden days, I guess. As long as it's the nice version where everyone gets rescued at the end. :D
Red riding hood always seemed like she had an irrisponsible mother! Who's mother lets a child run into the woods by themselves!?!? The fabric is just darling though and thank you for the chance to win!
ReplyDeleteI always wanted a red cape. I may end up using one in my wedding if it happens to be in the winter...
ReplyDeleteIsn't that the cutest fabric! :-) I always wanted a red cape too. LOL
ReplyDeleteLove the story. I even have an antique/old Madame Alexander Little RedRiding hood doll.
ReplyDeleteHmmm...can't think of anything about Red Riding Hood specifically, though I have been really curious about that movie that came out last year, the adult take on it..wonder if it was good or bad? I love this collection!
ReplyDeleteI think we all must have wanted the little red cape. it is a very strange story, but one that is still popular today!
ReplyDelete'little red riding hood' was my favorite tale back in the day ... i made my doll a red hooded cape and mom have me a little basket just the right size for her. love the collection; thanx for the opportunity to win some!
ReplyDeleteI always wonder what was in her picnic basket....
ReplyDeleteI always thought it was a little scary, but this fabric makes the story line fun :-)
ReplyDeleteI remember thinking little red riding hood was not so smart. As a child, I thought it was silly she went walking in the woods alone since I knew not to do that myself. I was more of a fan of the Three Little Pigs...and played one of the pigs in our school play. As an adult, I can appreciate the story more and am a big fan of Aneela's fabric lines!
ReplyDeleteLittle Red Riding Hood. She sure is lookin' good! I haven't read all the comments but I'll bet there's a whole lot of what I just typed.
ReplyDeletei have always wanted a cape like red... and i love love love the fabric!
ReplyDeleteThis is so cute. I saw a mug rug made with this fabric and now I want to make one of my own.
ReplyDeleteI was never a big fan of the story, but I love all of the different fabrics that little red has been on! I love Aneela's fabrics, so cute.

ReplyDeleteI liked Little Red Riding Hood's cape. Thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteMy dad used to read Little Red Riding Hood to me and my sister and incorporate different voices and the wolf really gave us a scare. Thanks for the opportunity to enter your great giveaway!
ReplyDeleteMy daughter was Little Red Riding Hood for Halloween one year (cape and gingham skirt made by me!) I couldn't find a good stuffed wolf to have as a prop so we took our black chihuahua with us. We still have the cape, my older daughter (19) wore it 2011. We have more costumes than clothes in the closet.Good for rainy days!
ReplyDeleteI love Little Red Riding Hood! I'm such a kid at heart... I've even made myself a LRRH pillowcase and pencil pouch :-)
ReplyDeleteI love Little Red Riding Hood, one of my favourite tales as a child. I love this fabric, it would be great for a little girl's quilt!
ReplyDeletei like the idea of wearing a red riding hood, hers always looked so cozy and soft, but to be honest that tale has always creeped me out quite a bit!
ReplyDeleteLove the story! Just had a conversation with someone this morning about fairy tales being too scary for her 3 year old niece. Guess we're all used to tales being "disneyized"!! Thanks for the opportunity!
ReplyDeleteI always wanted a red riding hood when I was little. It didn't happen though. :(
ReplyDeleteHow cute is that? That was one of my favorite childhood stories.
ReplyDeleteI love it, I was always afraid of the wolf when I was a little girl. I would really enjoy putting him in a quilt...
ReplyDeleteThe first play I ever acted in was Into the Woods Jr., which has Little Red Riding Hood in it! She's a little different in the play (it is Sondheim after all) and a little more annoying, not so innocent. =P
ReplyDeleteI always loved red riding hoods - cape with the hood - especially because it is red, my favourite colour!!
ReplyDeleteI was going to say that I was dressed up as Little Red Riding Hood when I met my husband but it was actually Goldilocks. It was a costume party with Once Upon a Time as the theme- 32 years ago.
ReplyDeleteWhat a darling set of prints. I love her little fox friend. So cute and a must have for my fox print collection I am trying to make grow. The red of Little Red's hood just pops off the fabric. Very cute.
ReplyDeleteWhat cute fabric. I always thought Red Riding Hood was so cool with her red cape.
ReplyDeleteI made a red riding hood cape (with hood of course) for my daughter when she was 4 for Halloween (she's 21 now). I still remember how darling she looked in it, wish it still fit her.
ReplyDeleteI wish I had a little red riding hood cape. How cool would that be on an adult?
ReplyDeleteLittle Red and I are tight. She helps me teach reading and I love to make quilts with her image. Thanks for the give away. I promise to give her a good home.
ReplyDeleteDeborah
Little Red Riding Hood was one of my favorite stories as a child. Looking at the fabric brings happy memories to mind. I'm enjoying the new series Once Upon A Time on ABC. It's full of fairy tale characters.
ReplyDeleteI still have a doll my mother gave me, with a red crocheted cape.Must be 50 years old! Sue H
ReplyDeleteI wish that I had the imagination to come up with a tale like Little Red Riding Hood. Since I do not, maybe I can get creative with the Walk in the Woods charm pack.
ReplyDeleteI have such fond memories of my mother reading Little Red Riding Hood to me. Then when I became a mom, cuddling up with my own children to read this great classic.

ReplyDeleteQuite the fun fabric. Thanks for a chanc e to win. Hope your day is going well.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Halloween costume was the Little Red Riding Hood outfit my mom made many, many years ago. My sister got the costume when Mom passed away 6 years ago. It is still being used and loved. Love the fabric. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteskip, skip, skip to my lou...thanks!
ReplyDeleteWhen I was very young I thought I was Little Red Riding Hood because I have red hair! Oops...kids say the darndest things, right? Thanks for the chance to win!
ReplyDeleteHello!!
ReplyDeleteI love little Red Riding Hood! The biggest reason I love her is because she has Red in her name...my favorite color!
We are posting for our Mom...We really, really REALLY hope she wins!!

I always thought the little red riding hood story was scary and strange. Why would she be out in the woods alone? But the fabric is adorable! Thank you for the chance to win!
ReplyDeleteAhem. That "little" girl had wolf cookies in her basket. She knew exactly what she was doing. Every girl likes a bad boy at some point in her life. This was hers. hussy.
ReplyDeleteVery sweet fabric, and Little Red Riding Hood looks so cute with her foxy friend.
ReplyDeleteRed Riding Hood--- What a big *heart* you have!!! Giving us a chance to win this adorable fabric!! I so hope that I win!! My little granddaughter would love to have a nap quilt-- to snuggle under while we read story books together!! :-) Thank you so much for the chance to win!!
ReplyDeleteRed Riding Hood's red cape should have made her bold and brave. Maybe we need to rewrite the story so that SHE saves her grandmother from the wolf's belly and the wood cutter (male) comes behind and celebrates her bravery.
ReplyDeleteRed Riding Hood went to grandma's house...that was her first mistake
ReplyDelete
