My grandma would always make a strawberry pie for my mom's birthday. Since my grandma passed, I've been trying to do it when I can but my strawberry pies haven't turned out that well, yet. I just saw a recipe I want to try, but now I'm waiting to see some good strawberries in the store.
ReplyDeletePie is wonderful and peach is my favorite!
ReplyDeleteI am a terrible pie maker. This year I promised myself to not let past failures deter me from trying again. Now that Strawberry season is here, I am going to give it another try. Wish me luck. Thank you for the chance to win some pie that I will not ruin.

My family's favorite pie is Dutch apple. I cook from scratch. A few years ago a friend said, "Mary, I heard when you make your pies you just dump it out of a can."
ReplyDeleteI replied, "It is actually from a jar and Son #3 assures me if I put it in the jar, it still counts as homemade!"
Now you know my secret. I make all that pie filling in the fall and we eat it all year long! Thanks for the chance to win.
Oops....did not read the "pie" part:):)
ReplyDeleteCherry is good or lemon:)
Have a great day~!
Lori

ReplyDeletePie. I love cherry, lemon meringue, and mud.
ReplyDeleteI taught a 10-session cooking course for newly married young ladies from our church. One session was devoted to pies. It was a delight to show them that pie making is not nearly as difficult as most of them imagined.
ReplyDeleteFruit pies are my favorite - lemon or bumbleberry (boysenberry, blueberry, and blackberry) are at the top of the list. Thanks for the opportunity to enter your wonderful giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI got married and divorced super young and owed all sorts of money when my husband left. So I painted houses to make lots of cash to pay off his debts. I was a teacher and had the summers off. All that hard work really burned calories. One day as I was leaving a job site I was famished. I passed an Amish road stand and stopped to buy some corn for dinner. There were a few pies in little personal sized tins for sale so I bought a cherry which is my favorite. I got back on the road and was heading home and I just could not stop myself. I didn't have any utensils or napkins so I literally just stuck my face in and ate it all up...no crumbs! It was the best cherry pie I've ever tasted!
ReplyDeleteLemon pie is my favorite! This fabric collection is adorable! Thanks for the chance to win!
ReplyDeleteA comment about pie...Sad story about pie. We had a delightful neighbor for over 12 years who had an apple tree. Every year we would often be out in our yard working and here she would come with a fresh apple pie, still warm from the oven that she had made for us. They were amazingly wonderful. *heavy sigh here* Three weeks ago, their landlord sold the house they were living in and now we have new neighbors...very nice folks, but she doesn't make apple pie. Oh the pain!!! I don't make apple pie either, but I do make a killer lemon cream pie. I make a pretty darn good pumpkin pie too, according to family and friends. Ah, but it seems fresh apple pies have gone from our lives, never to be enjoyed again. Thanks for a chance to win this delightful, bright, fun charm pak. Hugs...
ReplyDeleteThanks for a nice giveaway - fun fabric. My favorite pie to bake is apple pie!
ReplyDeleteThese are so cute. I love French Apple pie, but my favorite is a Mac Nut pie made in Hilo, Hawaii. They make it similar to a Pecan Pie, yummy.

ReplyDeleteI love pie!! Mostly berry pies, some apple, and definitely pumpkin when the season is right. My mom makes the most awesome pie ever: Pineapple Cheese Pie. No, not like cheddar cheese. It's made with Mexican queso fresco. Trust me, it tastes way better than it sounds.

ReplyDeleteThanks for the opportunity to win! The brand of pies we ate growing up were "Table Talk" and my favorite was coconut custard. Yum!

ReplyDeleteI'm actually eating an apple pie while browsing the blog roll!!! is this a sign that I'll be a winner??????? I hope so! thanks for the chance!
ReplyDeleteEvery time I hear the word pie I think of that movie Michael with John Travolta and Andie McDowell. There was a scene where he had her sing about pie when they were eating dinner. Funny movie. Anyway, my fave pie has always been Coconut Custard. I could eat a whole one all by myself.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE Pie! I always keep some of the Mennonite Girl's Can Cook pie crust in my freezer.....because you never know when a "need" for pie may arise! ;) I would also love to keep some pie fabric on hand.....because my "need" for sewing is greater than pie. :) Thank you for your generosity.
ReplyDeleteI like pie more than anything . Especially Cheryl. Linda gerig
ReplyDeleteI have a special diet, so don't eat much pie, but I have modified a banana cream pie that I can eat, so I make that on special occasions.

I love frozen chocolate pie with lots of whipped cream. So rich and decadent. My family has it two times and year at Thanksgiving and Christmas. If another flavor is brought in its place there is an uproar. It is that good and it is tradition now.

ReplyDeleteHmmm, a comment about pie! I love to cook and bake but in the 16 years that I have been married, I have NEVER made a single pie. I guess they just scare me since I've heard lots of horror stories about homemade crusts. Maybe I need to get over it soon! What do you think???

ReplyDeleteLove, love Amanda's fabrics....these are adorable! Thanks for the chance to win!
Pie is possibly the world's most perfect food group.Blueberry pie is like 6 cups of antioxidents held together by a delicious pastry shell! Pumpkin pie? Eggs, milk, pumpkin full of beta-carotene? Sounds nutritious to me. If I make a fruit pie (fave is blackberry), I eat a slice every day for breakfast until it's gone (usually only one breakfast unfortunately). When I make pumpkin pie, I always make 2 - one to take to the dinner or party I baked it for, and one to have for breakfast (yes, everyday until it's gone). With whipped cream...
ReplyDeleteIn our house, no Thanksgiving is complete without apple pie and at least two pecan pies.
