The swirling skirts, foot tapping rhythms, and joyful movement of New
England contra dancing inspire Shelburne Falls, Denyse Schmidt's latest fabric
collection for FreeSpirit Fabrics.
At once nostalgic and thoroughly new, Shelburne Falls embodies the
old-fashioned courtliness and small town charm of American Folk dance.
Fresh and vintage at the same time.
The colors are so nice together and unexpected.
We have precuts in the shop.
This is the first time I've seen FreeSpirit do 10 inch squares!
What do you think they call them??
Stackers?
Layer Cakes?
Nope, they are called
10" charm packs :)
Why muddy the water -- that's a great description.
Here is a link to the free PDF pattern from Denyse
showcases the 10" Charms.
Our giveaway today is a Shelburne Falls 5" charm pack.
Update: Congrats to Jocelyn!
You are the winner!!
Random drawing later tonight or Friday :).
Also just arrived is
Sheri McCulley's (aka Sheri Berry)
Cruiser Blvd from Riley Blake!
I love valentines day! It's the one day I can tell my boys mushy gushy things without them getting too annoyed with me
ReplyDeleteIt is such a shame that Valentines day falls in Lent, no big extravagant meal with Bubbly for us.
ReplyDeleteHappy Heart Day y'all!! I'm off to eat chocolate because society says I should on Valentine's Day - and I love when society makes me eat chocolate! GORGEOUS colours - yummy fabric!!

ReplyDeleteI once went on an accidental Valentines day date. A friend asked me if I wanted to go out after class. I thought he meant go out to have a beer as friends. I showed up to class in a sweatshirt and boots bc there was a snowstorm and he showed up in a red button down shirt and khakis. Turns out it was a nice dinner, not a beer. It was awkward haha
ReplyDeleteFor Valentine's Day, DH fixed one of my bracelets that has been broken for months. Might not sound like much to you, but it means the world to me. Thanks for the chance to win this fabric.
ReplyDeleteVery nice give away.....Happy Valentines Day. I got beautiful flowers. Going to be a very nice day.

ReplyDeleteHave a great one....and thanks for a lovely giveaway.
Valentine's Day is one of my favorite holidays (despite so many people calling it commercial). I love on my boys every day, but it's so fun to make little Valentines together and just be super sweet to each other.
ReplyDelete36 years and my hubby is still the one that I love! Great holiday!
ReplyDeleteSorry Valentine's Day is not for me! Our wedding anniversary is on the 25th February and that actually means something to me so we celebrate that and not Valentine's Day! 29 years this year.
ReplyDeleteI love Valentines Day, way back when - my parents would have Valentines Day parties, my dad's birthday, and we would decorate, have lots of food and they would dance the night away.
ReplyDeleteI love Valentine's Day and all it stands for
ReplyDeleteI could do without the rampart commercialism but a day when we focus on our intimate relationships is important.
Roses are red,
ReplyDeleteViolets are blue,
Chocolate is awesome,
But fabric is too ;)
Valentine's Day is a special day to spend with your speical someone. Great giveaway!
ReplyDeleteNothing special for Valentine's Day. Thanks for the giveaway.
ReplyDeleteHere's wishing you a Happy Valentine's Day! Thanks for the chance at this pretty fabric!
ReplyDeleteNow that I'm retired from public school education, I'll have to read "Roses are pink, Your Feet Really Stink" my favorite Valentine's Day read-aloud to my doxie Rusty. Happy Valentine's Day to you and yours!
ReplyDeleteHappy Valentines Day! I would much rather have more fabric than flowers and candy any day! Would love to win this prize!
ReplyDeleteHappy Valentine's Day - I told my husband not to buy any flowers today, but I said floral fabric would be okay ;-)
ReplyDeletenothing better than celebrating Valentines day at school with a bunch of 5 year olds! happy day to you!
ReplyDeleteEvery year my colleague reads our grade 7 and 8 students a story about "warm fuzzies" and how giving away a kind act makes both people feel good! Then they make their own fuzzies - pompons with googley eyes. A great way to celebrate friends and reduce the "dating" stress among our too young 12-13 year olds.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance to win!
Sarah

ReplyDeleteLove Valentine's Day and the free license to eat alot of chocolate! Thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteValentine's Day always has been one of my favorite holidays -- I like the excuse to not just tell all of my loved ones that I love them, but to do fun little sweet things for them! (And chocolate and champaign -- staples of my Valentine's Day -- never hurt either!)
ReplyDeleteDH did a great job today for Valentine's Day.. two HUGE bags of chocolate greeted me on the kitchen table with balloons.. HUGE bags..did I say HUGE?? LOL.. he has me pegged!!

ReplyDeleteDH has asked me to be his valentine again this year and I love him more than ever. Lovely fabric.
ReplyDeleteValentine's Day was the birthday of my husband's Grandma T. that we all loved very much. In fact, she was born and passed away on Valentine's Day. She passed away two years ago at the age of 94. She was a very special lady who is greatly missed.
ReplyDeleteI've visited a friend this afternoon and her children presented me with a gift. So sweet of her.
ReplyDeleteValentines Day - I heard it was the day to watch out for little chubby kids out shooting arrows!
ReplyDeleteFun collection! I started off my V-day with scones my hubby bought last night while getting groceries to make dinner for me today! Love that guy!
ReplyDeleteTook my son to his soon to be fiance's with a bouquet of roses, a huge card and three chocolate roses for her roommates. I took my hubby breakfast at his office and a box of chocolate truffles for a snack through the day. I bought my three boys a small treat of a pack of two chocolate covered oreos covered in pin, gold and red sprinkles!
ReplyDeleteValentine's Day is great!
I love Valentines Day! It brings back so many memories of red construction paper and paper doily projects that I did with my children when they were little. Thanks for the giveaway opportunity. What fun fabric!
ReplyDeleteI usually bring chocs for my friends on Valentine Day:) Happy Vday everyone!:D
ReplyDeleteI love this collection! My husband gave me a sweet candle set. He is really thoughtful!
ReplyDeleteOur tradition has evolved so the kids get a bit of candy, hubby makes me something in paper, and I make something for him in fabric. It works out very nicely when you know what to do for your honey!
ReplyDeleteIt can either be a happy day or a disappointing day....love Shelboure Falls, but I haven't even sewn with Chicopee yet, and I love it!
ReplyDeleteA day to be with your love ones and bring back the memories of your first love:)
ReplyDeleteWe planned a romantic dinner without realizing it! hahahaha :D
ReplyDeleteNo significant other, but instead, I bake something special and take it to my Dad and Grandma. <3
ReplyDeleteI enjoy valentines day. Sometimes it is important to have a reminder to appreciate the loved ones in your life, family, friends and significant others (even if the day is rather commercialized). Happy Valentines Day!
ReplyDeleteHappy valentines. Linda gerig
ReplyDeleteLove is in the air always with me and Tom and it feels so good, love this time of year. Happy Valentines Day to you and all.
ReplyDeleteLast Valentine's day I watched my husband pull out of the driveway with a U-Haul headed to Valparaiso, IN. I was to follow in April, it was a very heartwrenching day. God had other plans for our lives and he is back, we have moved just 30 miles up the road :)... So today I get to hug, and kiss, and have dinner, and snuggle with my sweetheart! Happy Happy Valentine's Day!

ReplyDeleteWe don't celebrate Valentine's Day - my husband insists that he's nice to me every day of the year (he actually is, lol) so he doesn't care about the "special" days ;) I did get him to understand that my birthday, Mother's Day and Christmas are "do something OR ELSE!" days, so I let the rest slide, especially since he's always willing to drive me to the States for a Joanns run when I feel the urge, lol!
ReplyDeletehave no valentine, just good, sweet memories of the one i had for so many, many good years. enjoyed reading the replies to your valentine's coments.

ReplyDeleteValentine's Day is just a day, the sentiment of which we try to carry throughout the year, instead of trying to pack it all in one day. Mind you--we've been together for 36 Valentine's Days, so we've had some great, some not so great.
:o)

What a great giveaway! My husband remembered today with a card and some chocolate. We'll be going out for dinner tomorrow night and then a small surprise. He says it will be something that we haven't done in 30 years- not sure whether to be happy or afraid. haha!! We've been married for almost 35 years and he still remembers the important days:). I definitely have a keeper!:)
ReplyDeleteI love Valentine's Day as it's a good excuse to eat more chocolate!
ReplyDeleteHappy Valentine's Day!
ReplyDeletewhat a beautiful line!! valentine's day. at work today, a bunch of us were talking about how impractical it was for our husbands to be giving us roses, when in fact we really wanted X instead - oven fixed, an immersion blender, fabric (!). so i come home and my husband has bought me roses. and i love them. he didn't go all out, no - he bought short stemmed roses - in my favourite rose colour - yellow. and they are beautiful and they smell beautiful and they make me smile. Goes to show what we think we want and what makes us happy may not be the same thing.... Thanks for the chance to win!
