When I'm not being awesome and
giving homemade quilts
for wedding and baby presents......
I have found my new go-to gifty.
After Christmas this year, I saw these aqua fleece-like blankets at Walmart.
For like $1-$2 a piece. I picked up 4 and thought they might make a nice little gift.
They're 50" x 60", so perfect throw size. Plus, it's not quite fleece, it's softer and cozier.
I decided to put a big fat binding on it.
I cut 6 binding strips - 4 inches.
Ironed a 1/4" hem on each side and then ironed the whole thing in half, so it's like single fold binding.
I followed these directions for adding the binding to the blanket.
The corners worked great, the start and finish....easy.
I did a zig zag stitch to make sure I caught both sides.
I also ran another running stitch along the edge of the binding so it didn't get all funky when it was washed.
Super happy with it.
Looks so official with the little band to hold it all!
Happy Gift Giving or Keeping to you......
Love it Des and the fabric you used! You are so very talented, clever and sweet! :)
