Craft Taffy Retreat 2013 - Part 2 - Giveaway Day

 At the retreat,
we had our own version

Sewists were each given a bag with
 a fat quarter and
 a variety of 6" squares.

We all want to thank
Riley Blake for sending fabric and
charm packs for the gift bags!

Their generosity and support of quilters
and crafters is so appreciated.

And their fabric is the best too!
They sent us some of Lori Holt's Bake Sale.

So the contestants, were told,
"You have to make a kitchen item.
You'll have 10 minutes to sketch your idea,
and then an hour to produce it."

And they got right to work.

We heard it was getting a little tense
in the workroom.

Des and I were the judges,
so we stayed out of site.

We did NOT want to know
 who was making what.

We were surprised to say the least
 at their creativity and workmanship.

They came up with:
An apron with whisk and matching egg carton hat with netting - Deanne
A lined basket that was going to be a darling picnic basket with pink napkins ;) - Jen
An adorable yellow drying mat - Kathy
A scalloped apron - Leela
A pink chef's hat - Jojo
An insulated cup wrap with white pom poms - Ramona
A darling 'Kiss the Cook' wreath - Rachel
An embroidered mug wrap - Shelto
A potato baker - Sandy
A days of the week, recipe holder hanging - Monique
Cute plastic garbage bag holder - Maurene

and our big winner is being modeled by Susan,
but was made by Sheryl!

It's a bikini and apron since it's always
Hot in the Kitchen.

This group did great!
Well done competitors!

Here is Sheryl
surfing away on her winnings -
a new traveling ironing board and iron!

To let you play along at home --
I have a couple of extra packs of fabric.

If you win one, you have to make something
 and send me a pic.

To enter the drawing to win a
Riley Blake pack,
leave a comment on what you might make.

Update:  Congrats to mom2three and Shauna!
You are the winners!!

Random drawing later tonight.
