"What does the fox say?"
Okay, I just heard that song.
Catchy, I will give it that.
Unfortunately, I spent 3+ minutes
of my life watching the video.
Oh no, the boys wanted to see it.
7 minutes of life gone.
Well here the fox says,
Hope it's a great one!
If you come to my door,
I am giving out full-size candy bars if you say
"Taffy Halloween" haha jk
or if you sing
the Fox song to me.
This is the Fox and The Houndstooth
by Robert Kaufman.
It's in the shop.
Our giveaway today is
2 half yards of it.
Update: Congrats to Jennifer Ricardi!
You are the winner tonight!
Halloween is just starting to take off here in Australia More and more Aussies are now celebrating the day
ReplyDeleteI love halloween but it always seems to go by so fast! There is still plenty of autumn left though, so I'm going to enjoy it and make a few more fall crafts to celebrate the season.
ReplyDeleteHere in Portugal Halloween is a new thing. Some people already dress up and go in the streets asking for candy, but others are more resistant to change. Anyhow is becoming more and more popular every year! Kisses from Portugal. Ana
ReplyDeleteHalloween here in NZ is definitely more a kids thing, dressing up and going door knocking for lollies. I guess the differences in seasons means the autumn or fall/halloween connection is lost, since its spring!! Makes it less of a season celebration!
ReplyDeleteCornelia :)
I made the Halloween costume my 11 yr old grandson wanted so badly: Moby the Robot on learning series (UK) "Brain Pop". He is thrilled. I am tired! Happy Halloween!
ReplyDeleteLove those posh foxes! My fav costume that I wore when I was a kid was a Monarch butterfly outfit. We made the wings from cardboard and painted them orange white and block and I wore antenae and a black eye mask and a black leotard It was cold though - where we lived in Ontario was always guaranteed snow on the 31st October! And it did snow and my paint on the wings ran a little bit! I'll never forget that halloween!
ReplyDeleteI don't understand Halloween.
ReplyDeleteHalloween is not really a big thing here in England!
ReplyDeleteThere'll be a Halloween party at a friend's house today and I still haven't setteled yet on a costume, yikkes! Might be that I'll just wear a cocktail dress and a cat mask:-)
ReplyDeletehildy(at)ebertzeder(dot)de
I don't really like Halloween, it's too dark for me :) But i really like foxes :D
ReplyDeleteWe don't get treaters (or trickters) as we are too far out of the way. Since our town was so destroyed by Irene - they have a few businesses and groups set up on main street for about an hour to hand out candy as there is no Trick/Treat allowed.
ReplyDeleteWhen my kids were small I made all of their Halloween costumes.
ReplyDeleteI've never done halloween, but I do like foxes. esp the fox song
ReplyDeleteNever experienced halloween before....but happy halloween to you!:)
ReplyDeleteWhen I was a kid my Halloween costume usually constituted a black bin bag, a witch's hat and a homemade broom - we didn't try very hard!
ReplyDeleteJust moved to England and Halloween is not big or fun here...mostly scary, dark stuff.
ReplyDeleteTrick or treating is so dependent on our abysmal weather, it is a hit or miss affair. The shops have a good range of costumes for all ages and we do see more pumpkins every year. Most of the pubs will have a fancy dress night on Friday and some community centers will put on parties. I love it and always dress up.
ReplyDeleteWe get about 200 kids Trick or Treating at our house on Halloween!
ReplyDeleteYes, we buy a lot of candy.
Love halloween, but we get no trick or treaters any more. Oh, well...Happy Halloween to you!
ReplyDeleteI live in Denmark and Halloween is not so big a thing here. BUT we have made some fine ghosts and I have bought plenty of candy, so I am sure that we will have a love evening.
ReplyDeletetagelaursenpiaeriksen@gmail.com
Halloween, my favorite decorating time of the year.
ReplyDeleteI've never been a huge fan of Halloween, but now that I am a Mom....that has definitely changed.
ReplyDeleteLindsayRodems at g mail.com
Ohmygosh, my kids showed me that song too! And then they told me the group is from Norway, and all the Swedes are really proud of them :) I heard some real foxes a few weeks ago, across the street. First the pups playing sound, and then the alarm bark. Eery to hear the vixen scream. Here in Sweden, Halloween has gotten more popular, but the All Saint's Day is too-- the day to light a candle and visit the graves of your loved ones who have passed.
ReplyDeleteThis is such a fun giveaway, thank you so much. Would you believe that we will be missing half of the evening as we have to be at school for parents evening for about 2 hours!!
ReplyDeleteks(dot)eyles(at)yahoo(dot)co(dot)uk
This is my first year being a teacher's aide in kindergarten! I'm looking forward to dressing up and seeing all those little 5 year olds dressed up. Going to be a fun day!
ReplyDeleteSome of my most fun sewing/crafting projects have been Halloween costumes I made for my son. He always wanted unique things -- a couple favorites were a hammer (and a nail costume for his friend) and a Swedish Fish (like the candy). Taffy Halloween! LOL
ReplyDeleteI can remember as a kid dragging a pillow case around the neighborhood filled with candy, too heavy to carry. Not real sure why that is the only memory that sticks in my mind about Halloween.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was a kid, Mom never bought costumes for Halloween. We made our own out of whatever we could find.
ReplyDeleteLove the fox fabric! I enjoy Halloween but because we are in the country we never get any kids but I still buy candy just in case and it's always my favorite chocolate ;0)
ReplyDeleteBig storms are predicted for today and tonight. Our community has postponed Trick or Treating until tomorrow. Thanks for the chance to win such cute fabric.
ReplyDeleteI love seeing all the creative costumes at Halloween!! I also enjoy a "few" treats myself!!
ReplyDeleteThis Halloween I'll miss festivities because I'll be on a plane (boo!), but I'm headed to Florida (yay!), so it's a wash, I think.
ReplyDeleteWe also bought full siza candy bars to give out, but we only had 5 kids show up! Our neighborhood doesn't really do halloween unfortunately.
ReplyDeleteWhat adorable fabric! I love decorating for Halloween! I did a few different projects this year that included chalkboards. I made some fun banners to hang and some burlap fall projects to decorate throughout my house. I had so much fun doing it all! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteLike one of the earlier comments, I am in New Zealand. While Halloween isnt nearly as big as in the US, there is an increasing amount of merchandising in stores, and big promotions selling sweets for Halloween. I noticed a lot of costumes in stores, but still a narrow range- witches, devils, skeletons etc. We live in the country so never have any kids knocking on the door, Trick or Treating.
ReplyDeleteHalloween signals the last day of October...that means Thanksgiving and before we know it, Christmas! I can't wait. =)
ReplyDeleteThat fabric is very cute. Thank you.
In my small town where I grew up the people guessed who you were and if they guessed wrong u got 2 candy bars. What would be our last Halloween to go out trick or treating , my cousin, Donna and I came up with the plan to go out with her brother and his friend, but we used their football uniforms and we made them the cheerleaders! The people kept guessing us wrong we were fling up our pillowcases until we got to one old ladies house and she looked us over pretty good before she correctly guessed us. We couldn't believe that she figured us out so we asked her how and she said " Well, I do have a telephone." Seems that everyone knew in town, but they played along with our quest to rid them of their candy bars. We had a ball! Thank you for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteWell; it is spook night!! I love seeing how the kids dress up. Thanks for this chance ladies...I love this fun fabric
ReplyDeleteI'm actually "dressed up" for Halloween today. I got a cute t-shirt featuring a hipster pumpkin face (it has big nerd glasses). I was way more excited to wear it to work than any almost 40 year old woman should be.
ReplyDeleteThis will probably be the last year I will have a trick or treater to take out. Can't say that I will miss it!
DeleteI remember one Halloween my girlfriend and I dressed up like a horse. What were we thinking?
ReplyDeleteTrick or Treating is postponed here due to major storms heading this way.
ReplyDeleteI love the little kids coming to my door, who need coaching from older siblings.
ReplyDeleteIn high school I dressed up as a compost heap. I super glued leaves and such all over myself. I left a trail behind me of garbage all day.
ReplyDeleteOur best was the year we took our twin puppies trick or treating in costume. Loved those dogs!!
ReplyDeleteThat fox song grows on you and I thought it was stupid until my grandson told me it was written about a father reading a book to his toddler...thus asking what all the animals say but no one knows what the fox says. Thank you Ellen DeGeneres for making that vid a huge hit ~lol~
We're not really doing anything this year so I don't have much to say about Halloween... I just want that awesome fox fabric!
ReplyDeleteHalloween is my favorite day! Thanks for the chance!
ReplyDeleteThe fox says: Don't outfox me! It's Halloween, I trick but I don't treat!
ReplyDeleteI'd love to have this awesome fabric. Thanks for the chance!
I love those bow ties, so cute. I miss making my boys' costumes for Halloween. My favorite year is when each boy was a different character from Wizard of Oz and my niece was Dorothy. The cutest pictures ever.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, foxes in waistcoats! Such dapper little dears! See now the song I always have running round in my head this time of year is that lovely elementary school ditty, "H-A-double-L-O-W-double-E-N Spells Halloween." Anyone else taught that as a child? (Thanks for the giveaway!)
ReplyDeleteNo halloween here either in Hungary, though yesterday I saw 2 elderly ladies both taking a wheelbarrow full of flowers to the cemetery. And those aren't alone, tonight it'll be all pretty with candle lights. Never saw anything like that in the Netherlands, must admit I never went to the cemetery either, but somehow I feel it is very nice and pretty thing to honor the dead this way. Just a day a year...
ReplyDeleteLoving the fox fabric though! :)
Since the "tradition" of trunk or treat has caught on, now we end up having TWO Halloweens and FAR too much candy at our house. One year, I tried to have my kids not go out on actual Halloween, because of the ridiculous amount of candy from trunk or treat. After about 10 minutes of kids coming to our door, all my children had various Halloween costumes on. My sweet husband took pity on them and took them down the street to a few houses. So I have never tried that again and just live with the mountains of candy. :)
ReplyDeleteThe best part of Halloween is so many pumpkins, eating the pumpkin seeds and making yummy things with the pumpkin. I will only say I am a huge fan of the Walking Dead and since so many dress as zombies for Halloween I will concede to liking the holiday just a tiny bit!
ReplyDeleteLast year, we spent Halloween on a US Army base in Germany. Dozens of US families + curious locals = 12 large bags of candy emptied in one hour. LOTS of fun!
ReplyDeleteHappy Halloween! Now that I'm retired Halloween doesn't amount to much, but I loved celebrating it with students when I was teaching. I was a high school Family and Consumer Science teacher. We always made fun treats like popcorn balls and orange Julius. My favorite things was to surprise them with a loud haunting witch laugh.
ReplyDeleteThe kids have fun dressing up and trick or treating for Halloween! Thanks for the giveaway and a chance to win!
ReplyDeleteGremlins come into our house late on halloween night and eat some of my son's candy. It happens every year...go figure!
ReplyDeleteI met my husband on Halloween and we got engaged on Halloween. Yet we don't really celebrate Halloween as a "relationship-celebration" thing.
ReplyDeleteWe're dressing up as the Flintstones for Halloween! (Well, if I can finish the costumes in time!)
ReplyDeleteTAFFY HALLOWEEN!!!! That fabric is too darn cute! I love that you'll have some full size candybars -- we were in Sam's buying trick-or-treat candy and I said to my hubby "Do you want to be THAT house that gives out the full size bars?" It was fun. So, we have both -- 'cause kids that are WAY too big to be trick-or-treating are only getting the little stuff LOL!
ReplyDeleteWe live out in the country so no kids come to our house for Halloween - which was sad for a few years but now I go to my daughter's house to pass out candy while she takes the kiddos trick or treating. FUN! And CANDY!
ReplyDeleteSuch cute fabric! My daughter is 2 and a half, and I think that having her has brought the fun back to Halloween for me!
ReplyDeleteWe're doing a trunk or treat with my daughters tonight. It should be fun.
ReplyDeleteI have one costume done... five to go! By tonight! Eek! That IS scary! :) Happy Halloween!
ReplyDeleteI loved Halloween when I lived in NY. Right after school we would go trick a treat. Here in the midwest they wait till it gets dark.
ReplyDeleteHappy Halloween! My kids can't wait to go trick-or-treating tonight. I hope you have a good one! :)
ReplyDeleteI am working tonight but I believe I get to dress up!
ReplyDeleteOh my kids showed me the video too!
ReplyDeleteI get all nostalgic at Halloween, while the kids are out I have to watch the Peanuts Great Pumpkin special, then together while sorting candy we watch Disney's Sleepy Hallow. And I wish I had the dvds of the old Halloween specials, wasn't there one about a mouse and his girlfriend, wasn't it called Max and the Devil?
I love Halloween. It makes me wish I still had young children. Such cute foxes.
ReplyDeleteThis is our first Halloween with the kids being big enough to really get into it...we're having a blast!
ReplyDeleteI love seeing little children in their Halloween costumes. And who doesn't love all of that candy.
ReplyDeleteWe don't celebrate Halloween, so that's my comment on that lol. You must have been listening to NPR because I heard about the song for the first time yesterday too. Cute fabric :)
ReplyDeleteMy little superheroes can't wait for their candy tonight!
ReplyDeleteThat fox is sure a snazzy dresser. Halloween is sort of dull here now that we don't have small children.
ReplyDeleteCute fabric. With new twins in the house, I've kind of been a Halloween Scrouge this year. No decorations whatsoever (unless you count the cobwebs I've yet to clean up on my front porch), but at least everyone has costumes . . . they're all going as my minions. Bwahahaha. Thanks for the chance.
ReplyDeleteThe fox says that for Halloween he wants to come trick or treat at my house.... Send him on my way!
ReplyDeleteThe fox is so awesome. We don´t have Halloween in Sweden, but it has been so fun with a wicked blog hop instead to get some Halloween mood. Thanks for a great giveaway
ReplyDeleteHappy Halloween! My twin boys are almost two this year, we're going trick or treating for the first time tonight!
ReplyDeleteHow cool is that! Love the fabric. My kids are all grown now, but we used to dress them up as Bible characters and go to the Harvest parties on Halloween. Miss those sweet days :-)
ReplyDeleteThat song is now in my head and won't leave. :-) Did you see the dance on Dancing with the Stars? It's fabulous. http://www.hulu.com/watch/551160
ReplyDeleteI'm not fond of Halloween, but I do like November 1 - Half Off Candy Day (may not be official)
Ah yes, Halloween, so much fun as a kid. We trick-or-treated for hours, a whole pack of us, just kids in the dark going door-to-door, nowadays, pffft. I kind of liked the fox song, love the fox fabric.
ReplyDeleteHallowe'en is different these days - no more parties or last minute costume creation. Now it's usually a fairly quiet night at home, watching TV while Mr. W. answers the door compliment and hand out candy to the ghouls, goblins, fairies and elves that come to our door.
ReplyDeleteWe have some episodes of Sleepy Hollow on the DVR - maybe we'll make it a theme night!
I love halloween. It is way more fun to decorate than other holiday's. you can be as cute or scary as you want. I am not really that scary. however this year i got a posable skeleton. happy halloween.
ReplyDeleteVery dapper looking! I am going to be a Minion tonight and my daughter will be Poison Ivy. She pulled together and made both costumes. Maybe I have a little crafty girl in the family after all!
ReplyDeletelaughing out LOUD and I don't do that all the time, seriously, you are pretty darn foxy. Ok I hate myself for making that pun. You girls kill me. I think I lost it most on the minutes taken out of your life (annoying video) and the full size candy bars. Love you girls.
ReplyDeleteI have a love/hate relationship with halloween. thanks, kathy
ReplyDeleteLove the fox fabric. I think in the 15 years we've lived here there might have been 15 kids stop by.
ReplyDeleteSuch cute fabric! We don't celebrate Halloween, although we usually buy candy to consume without the children.
ReplyDeleteCute fabric. Halloween ? I love to decorate the house for fall and I really don't look forward to trick or treat. We have 200+ kids every year.
ReplyDeleteCute fabric.....love to see the kids come to the door with their costumes. Thanks for the giveaway..
ReplyDeleteI love this foxy fabric! I love seeing how excited my 3 year old is about all things Halloween. She loves the decorations (even the scary ones), all the pumpkins, the costumes, and of course the trick or treating and candy:) Thanks for the giveaway and Happy Halloween!
ReplyDeleteI love Halloween but those Foxes are adorable. I understand the fox is taking place over the owl. Who knows but I have loved fox for years!
ReplyDeleteSuper cool fox fabric!
ReplyDeleteI get no tricker treaters for Halloween in my neighborhood, I live in the boonies! At my first house, we lived in one of the few neighborhoods in town and we literally got bus loads of kids every year. We used to buy 20+ big bags of candy with little left over. I guess life has a way of evening out! :)
Tonight, hubby and I are watching The Conjuring! I am so in the mood for a good scary movie, grabbing some snacks and cuddling under a quilt!
Adorable! We love Halloween in this house, but I could do without all the candy laying around. I have eaten a Crunch bar every morning for breakfast for the past week!
ReplyDeleteLove the fabric! I will have to get my hands on some if I don't win! I haven't seen the fox video yet (though I have heard about it) and but I think the fox saying happy halloween is a hoot!
ReplyDeleteSo excited for this year's Halloween! It's our first year in a home where we'll get trick-or-treaters. Love the fox fabric..and the song...and the video!
ReplyDeleteI love Halloween and dressing up my kids in adorable costumes (and eating there candy).
ReplyDeleteThis morning I dressed in my cat costume to meet my 2 year old grandson at the door. Nana usually is blond and Nana put on a red wig cat ears and a cats nose and said trick or treat. Harrison just smiled.....
ReplyDeleteI'm wearing tiger ears and tail at work today.
ReplyDeleteI adore that fox fabric!
My boys are all grown up and I really do miss dressing them up for trick or treating and school parties. I absolutely love this fox fabric...perfect for projects for my hubby and sons. Thank you for sharing!!
ReplyDeleteHalloween is simply the best! Love this fabric!
ReplyDeleteMany Halloweens when I was a child were spent slogging through snow where I grew up. It didn't take away any of the fun though. Great fabric.
ReplyDeleteMy kids are still a little too little to really get into the spirit. I can't wait until my oldest is old enough to watch The Nightmare Before Christmas. That was my favorite thing to do on Halloween.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance. Those foxes and bowties are ridiculously cute.
i have my bowl of candy waiting for our great grands to come and get it. the best part we get to see them on halloween
ReplyDeleteI love it! My family is going as A Fox Family for Halloween! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteWe do a joke a day in our Halloween countdown. My favorite is: why don't vampires have any friends? Because they're a pain in the neck!
ReplyDeleteAdorable fabric, but curse you for linking that video. Now that song is stuck in my head!
Oh! Halloween is my favorite and my best :)
ReplyDeleteHalloween was a blast as a kid, who doesn't love free candy just for the asking? Thanks for the giveaway. I don't understand 'What does the fox say" guess I am getting a bit aged. Hahaha
ReplyDeleteWhere I live our small downtown is blocked off tonight and all the costumed creatures get to trick or treat there. Everyone comes out to watch them parading up and down main street collecting treats. There are contest, games and lots of picture taking. It's do fun to watch all of them. Love, love, love this line. Thanks for the chance to win some.
ReplyDeleteCute fabric. Have a safe and Happy Halloween.
ReplyDeleteI don't celebrate Halloween........but I absolutely LOVE that Fox Fabric! How cute is THAT?????
ReplyDeleteHalloween is a great day to go to the Houston Quilt Festival!
ReplyDeleteHappy Halloween! My kids are too old to trick or treat but I still enjoy handing out the candy and seeing the neighbors in costume.
ReplyDeleteI feel like a bad mom because I didn't sew one thing for Halloween this year. Well the kids will have lots of fun either way :)
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh! My grandsons love that video and sing that song. Too funny! Love that fabric (that I've never seen before.) I want to visit your house just for a full size candy bar (we're giving the cheap small kind here.) LOL
ReplyDeleteHa Ha- yup- we watched the fox video a bunch too...it's addicting...Halloween here- hubby is on the door with the bowl o' candy while I try to get caught up from being four days on the road- very glad he's willing to be the jolly greeter at the door as I don't feel jolly just exhausted;))))
ReplyDeleteOur kids are all grown up, but we know the song, even my mother knows the song which cracks us up. The grands go trick or treating, but we live too far out in the country to get trick or treaters. :( Cute fabric.
ReplyDeleteI love pumpkin!
ReplyDeleteoh my goodness!!!! That is the MOST adorable fabric I have ever seen!! Im in Australia, and we dont do Halloween in any big way, but we had a small trunk or treat and a Halloween party at the park last night. it was lots of fun :)
ReplyDeleteJessica
I've never gone trick or treating.
ReplyDeleteHalloween is my favorite holiday, but this year I'm celebrating with a fever. Lots of time in bed recouping.
ReplyDeleteIt is my granddaughter (and her dad's) first Halloween to dress up. She is only 10 weeks old but her dad was one of those poor children whose mom wouldn't let them trick or treat. They are both dressing up this year.

ReplyDeleteKeeping my fingers crossed for some trick or treaters. For the past 24 years we haven't had one kid show up. Every year we eat the candy. I heard the fox song a couple of days ago. It is a catchy tune!
ReplyDeleteDeborah
We're planning to watch Halloween movies all night
ReplyDeleteMy 4 yo grandson likes "the fox song"! Wish I had thought to make him a fox costume!
ReplyDeleteNot much of a happy Halloween here in northern Ohio - it's warm, but very rainy and high winds. Not many happy kiddos. Love the foxes - many thanks!
ReplyDeleteellen(at)myerly(dot)net
I love foxes! Hope I win.

ReplyDeleteTonight's Halloween and no trick or treaters at our house. It was pouring down rain! *:0( Love the adorable fox fabric. Rcoyle at olemiss dot edu
ReplyDeleteThis is really cute fabric though foxes would not be something I'd think about when it comes to fabric. Of all the trick or treaters I saw tonight, not one was a fox though there were lot of ghoulish-looking youngsters this year.
ReplyDeleteHalloween is my favorite holiday!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance

Now that I am a grandmother, I have discovered a whole new realm of Halloween .No longer do I have to participate in all the preparations. My daughters do that now. But what a joy to pass out candy for all the little ones coming to the door and act scared and surprised and just happy to see all the children having so much fun.
ReplyDeleteWe are having fun here handing out candy and guess what one little boy scared me...too cute! What fun and your fox fabric is wonderfully foxy. Happy Halloween
ReplyDeleteI just I just returned from trunk or treat with two foxes. My granddaughter, age six, sang the song twice.
ReplyDeleteOh My Goodness! Those foxes are adorable! We had a fantastic Halloween with some too cute little minions
ReplyDeleteWow is he ever spiffy in his bow tie and vest and hat. Really cute foxes. Thanks for the giveaway! We had 4 trick or treaters. Oh well peanut butter cups for me! :-)
ReplyDeleteLove halloween...already ate too much candy! Thanks for the giveaway :)
ReplyDeleteI love Halloween, perhaps because orange is my favorite color! Just love to see those glowing jack-o-lanterns in the night...
ReplyDeleteWhen I think of Halloween I always think of Fall Festivals! Cake walks, costume parade, Chili, pies, silent auctions and best of all everyone from the community turns out for them!
ReplyDeleteWhat darling fabric! This year my grandson just turned three years old and a perfect age to go trick or treating. He dressed as a ninja turtle as was so cute! He loved knocking on the doors and made quite a haul, hehe. I'm sure he will be wearing his costume for a few days as he really likes it.
ReplyDeleteThank you for a super giveaway and a chance to win.

Halloween and fall - my favorite time of year!
ReplyDeleteTaking my son around is so awesome! I love dressing up!
ReplyDeleteHalloween here is headed towards Trunk or Treat or the children visiting businesses, then the normal 'visit the neighbors houses' trend of the past. A little security is a good thing.
ReplyDeleteLove the Fox. Sooo Cute.
ReplyDeleteI hated to take down my giant spider decoration today! Halloween is so fun.
ReplyDeleteI had so much fun trick or treating with my grandchildren and kids and husband! They showed me the video of what does the fox say also! Ha ha!
ReplyDeleteI think it is the best holiday for kids. They get to dress up and act goofy and get candy. What could be better?
ReplyDelete
