Spring Cleaning - Just A Little Bit

Anyone feel like
Spring Cleaning?

I was reading this clutter busting challenge...

Whoa.
I need to ponder on that
 for 40 days.

How about
I tackle my desk drawer?

So what has been making me
the most crazy about my drawer
are all my priceless,
irreplaceable
camera memory cards.
They are just swimming around in here.

They are going to get lost.

And then I would be heart-broken.
Not that I know what is on them,
but what if they were gone?

I have 3 packs of pens and
5 packs of lead,
brand new in the packaging?

Who knew?

And TEN old check registers,
even though I put all that info into Quicken.?

But it's the camera cards
that we're focusing on.

I've been wanting to make
 one of these forever.

I want all my little camera cards
right where I can see them.

I needed cute
 camera fabric.

Here it is!
This is the smallest pouch.
You can make all 3 of those pouches
 out of 2 Fat Quarters.

Pretty slick.
If you want to make one, I've got all the pieces, just contact me.

And I put the zipper in.
Not hard at all.

Just look at my cards now.

All is right
with the world.

Anything you want
to tackle?

  3. Brilliant camera card case. How fun to personalize and organize your desk drawer. I started mine weeks ago and never finished it. Maybe I need to make a cute little case for stuff. Creative Stitching Bliss...

  4. I love these little pouches! I have the pattern and made a tester for myself and then made a little set for a friend, as a Christmas gift. They are definitely handy!

  5. Lovely pouch! I made one, too, and I love them. So easy! Did you use a Teflon foot? I didn't, but I bought one for next time. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

    1. I didn't use a foot or use tape. It went just fine through my machine. I think it's because the vinyl is sandwiched between the fabrics.

  6. I'd love to tackle my "junk drawers", too. It's a scary place, though. Love the little pouches! But, zippers still scare me......sigh......yours are darling!

  7. I've been working on my junk drawers. Feels good! I love those little vinyl bags for the small things. A lot cuter than sandwich ziplock baggies. That would make sense in my kitchen junk drawer - very scary in there!

  8. I was going to say "you been in my drawers?" but as I read on...if that is all you found...you weren't in MY drawers!!!LOL!! I have like twice that much of everything! Why? Who knows! I just put stuff there and have it if I need it and it is out of the way when I don't! I'd rather spend my time like you did...quilting/sewing and making fun things! Love the pouch!

  9. I have that pattern but have never used it. Yours turned out cute and the link to 40/bags/40 days, man I wish I could make my brother do that! He's a packrat and married a packrat! Lol.

  11. Love it!

Could you do a tutorial for kathy-o ?

kath-o, it is not making a bag with a zip, it is a zip with a bag, that's how you construct it. Zip first, then make the bag around that bit. It is actually quite simple, and you will feel so proud when you do make one.
