Here she is. I used the Indygo Junction Yo-Yo Elephant pattern that I picked up at Quilt Market. I decided to go with a big print and leave off all the yo-yo's. She doesn't need them. I could not believe how fast she went together. Like in 30 minutes, I was done! This pattern was easy, peasy. (Pattern will be in the store shortly. I couldn't wait!)Doesn't it look hard to make?? That's what I thought. I'm not a sewing guru. But this girl was soooo easy. I took some shots of her underneath to show you that it's so simple but I felt that it exposed her too much. She's sensitive for an elephant. The pattern calls for a button tail which is just a cute, cute idea. But I didn't want buttons, just in case I wanted to give her to a small child. I thought of attaching the tail after the fact. So WHEN I make her again, and I WILL make her again (can you say Be A Good Human) I will sew her tail into the seam. I tried to tack it down really well, but a tenacious child could pull it off. So she'll just probably have to be MINE!!! "Marsha's" friend was here and was quite impressed with me. (she's 9) She gave her the name of Abby and I think that fits.
Does she ever know that she's my hero?? She IS the wind beneath my wings. ~Des
