Take 3 zucchini & call us in the morning

Update: We have a winner! #15 Diane! How cute, she's even looking for taffy seeds! Corrie just barely got it. She's a little slow. She's having to slave over company.....ME. It's exhausting, I'm sure. Diane, pick out a favorite green fabric in the Quilt Taffy store and contact Corrie with your choice and address. Congrats!
We were already to have a Farmer's Market giveaway today, but no harvest in site. Don't ask, supposedly some of it's coming. As with all gardens, some seeds don't germinate. Will it be a good harvest, we hope so. You don't need it yet. Confucious say: Good things come to those who work on other projects. Need any Ginger Blossom? :-) After calling ten times, I've been assured Pop Garden & Bijoux are coming. I better call again tomorrow. Today we're giving a yard away of any green fabric in the Quilt Taffy store. Leave a comment in regards to "what's growing in your garden?" Random drawing later tonight. International winners may choose a pattern of their choice up to $9.

  1. In my garden, there grow tomatoes (and I LOVE the song about Homgrown Tomatoes by John Denver) and lots and lots of raspberries! Well, the raspberries are not ripe yet, but the first green ones are there...
    Thanks for the giveaway.

  2. I have the tallest, greenest weeds in my garden! The only plant I don't seem to kill is the ones I don't want. Oh well, I'd rather quilt.

  3. Nothing is growing in my garden because my Homeowners association forbids having one. I can't even do a container garden. I have to make do with going to the local U-Pick farm down the road.

  4. We have beautiful flowers--both annuals and perennials, but I don't take advantage of it after my morning coffee on the patio, because I'm either sewing, shopping for sewing stuff, or looking online for quilting patterns. I'm obsessed.

  6. We have lots of flowers growing in our garden, and unfortunately, many weeds. No vegetables yet, because of deer and bunnies. Maybe next year we'll put in raised beds and a fenced-in garden!

  8. Garden, what garden. Well, I would like to have one. I'm thinking of growing tomatoes and strawberries in pots. Those are the 2 favorites in our house! And I have to say, today's post was very clever. Love it!

  12. Oh, I so wish that I could have a garden. But, I live in an apartment. No green spaces for me. I dream of the day that I have my own yard and a garden. I have the best memories of picking such wonderful things in the garden as a child.

    Thanks!!!!

  19. Unfortunately the swing set and sand box initiated a hostile takeover of our veggie garden a few years ago, the tomatoes and zucchini were completely decimated. However the raspberries are tough little berries and are quickly regaining territory. You can now pick berries and swing simultaneously. So as far as edibles go, raspberries are all we’ve got. As for flowers, well we have hollyhocks, daisies, daylilies, purple coneflowers, blackeyed-susans, lavender and cosmos just to name a few. I guess you could say I have a weakness for all things pretty. Speaking of pretty, I LOVE that poetry quilt posted a few posts back. Beautiful!

  20. I don't have anything growing in my garden except, flowers. And it seems that I really have to struggle to keep them alive. I really don't know how all of you grow vegetables also.

  21. Just a bunch of weeds in my garden! As my DH says, as long as they're all green, hopefully they just blend into the grass! Honestly, I'd rather quilt than garden! ;)

  22. Garden? My mother in law gave us a potted hoya start as a house warming gift & it's bears mention that she has had the original plant alive for over 15 years. I tired my very best to take care of it, but alas, it died within 3 months... and I was proud to keep it for so long! So I imagine there is a lot of satisfaction to be had from growing an actual garden. I will never know the feeling. But, the thought has crossed my mind a time or two, to plant plastic foliage and zip tie those super-glossy & oh-so-fresh looking plastic fruits & veggies to my fake vines. If nothing else, I would have the best looking "garden" on the block! Oh well.

  23. LOL! Love the little signs in the zukes. :) I am only growing flowers this summer. I have a pretty good crop of them too. All on my front porch area. I do have some fruit on the fruit trees out back and a loaded cherry tree in the front yard. Sew or pick and pit cherries??

  27. The garden is yummy right now. The hydrangia are blooming, the grass looks pretty good. The front yard perrenials have started to bloom. Butterflies and birdies abound. The best part for me are the squirrels. They have declared a full on war with my husband. They stare him down as he shakes pinecones at them. Pretty funny. Thanks for the giveaway and your adorable way of making it special.

  28. I have a few flowers left in my garden. Apparently many days of near or over 100 degrees doesn't make the flowers too happy!

  29. because of the drought here in Atlanta, the only thing growing outside is weeds. My inside garden is growing one sleeping baby and one fussy toddler! ...need a trip to the 'farmer's market'!!!

  30. In my garden I have tomatoes and strawberries. This was my first chance at even trying out a garden. I am happy to report that my tomato plants are very much alive, but have not produced a single tomato. The strawberry plant is also alive and HUGE. It has produced some strawberries, which our dog has managed to enjoy before the rest of us could!

  34. What's growing in my garden? Well, at the moment I have sweet peas, roses, day lillies, agapanthus (apparently a weed in New Zealand!), and my sunflowers are on the up. Anyone tried gardening by the phases of the moon? I've heard it's pretty cool!
    Many thanks, Jan, UK.

  42. ME?!!! I never win anything!
    THANK YOU SO MUCH!!
Do you realize that you have just broken my "never wins anything curse"?
Hold on while I do a happy run around the office. Okay, that's better. I think I would like Heather Bailey Freshcut painted mums in lime green.
Ooooh, I am so excited! Hmmm, maybe I should buy a lottery ticket on my lunch break now that the curse is broken.
    Thank you again so much!!!!!!!!!
Hope you guys have a great weekend!
