well.... I love my man. We met in 1970, I was a freshman, he was a junior. He is the best friend I have ever had.
ReplyDeleteHe would love these fat quarters
:)
Wow, I love how the colors in that quilt match your dad's armchair! Planned?? Ummm, the men in my life, well, there are two. My husband, who was my high school crush (although at the time he didn't know I existed) We reconnected at a local bar several years after I graduated and have spent three weeks apart at most since we met. My other man is my three year old son, and words can't describe the ups and downs of motherhood I have experienced raising him so far! I love how our relationship grows and changes as he does. And as he changes, so does his bed, which means I need fat quarters to make him a new blanket. Hehe. Thanks ladies! :)
ReplyDeleteMy man's name is Sergio. He is IT programmer, that's why very often for me it seems that we talk 2 different languages. He is trying to explain me something, tell what's happened at the work... All I can say is: Yes... of course... really?... Even if I have no idea what is he talking about :))) I know it's important for him to be listened, so I really listen, but it doesn't mean I understand :)
ReplyDeleteThere is no man in my life right now. But I would love to make a quilt for my dear son. I am so proud of him. And now when he is moving to a new apartment it would be a nice surprise to give him a quilt.
ReplyDeleteHmm where to start, I have 4 men in my life, my husband who I am so proud of as he serves our country and has for the past 17 yrs, there's not enough room to express my feelings for him here, My dad whom i still call to this day about how to fix little things around the house, and my two sons Connor (5) and JJ (4) who amaze me everyday with the things they learn and say. JJ informed me as he was watching me that I needed these to make a little blanket for his Curious George...so there ya have it. :) You can email me at miranda_lynn2001@yahoo when I win.
ReplyDeleteI just have one man in my life right now...my husband. I don't know how I could ever live w/o him. valerieann118atmsndotcom
ReplyDeleteI have 3 of them, one is DH, who is a frieght agent (he books and dispatches freight) from his home office, one is a 5 yr old son with Cerebral Palsy with a fascination for trains, another is a 4 year old son who thinks he is Spiderman.
ReplyDeleteThe men in my life are my husband and 16-year-old son who shake their heads everytime I say I need to go buy more fabric! Thankfully, they have their own hobbies and toys as well...
ReplyDeleteLove the quilt in your post for today! Thanks for the chance to win the giveaway.
I fell in love with my husband when I was 12 although he didn't know who I was. When I was 15, he came into my life again -- I was dating his best friend -- and I had a premonition that I would marry him someday. Then all through high school it was an "on again off again" relationship until senior year when we got serious. We were married when I was 19 and he was 20. It's 42 years later and we have defeated all the odds.
ReplyDeleteHe loves my quilting and is very supportive. We are looking at a log cabin home on a lake and hope to purchase it when our house sells. These colors are perfect!
That quilt you made is so "manly" Perfect for a guy. My guy is the best. We will be married 33 years in May. He is my best friend and he is very supported of my hobby. He is my biggest fan.
ReplyDeleteWhat is perfect is that sweet picture, you are so lucky to still have your daddy. Mine passed two year ago, now do not get grossed out, he passed at home with the quilt i made him, i now have that quilt and it is a treasure. I have two new young men in my life one SIL and one future SIL i need to make them both a manly quilt. thanks for the idea and the chance to win!
ReplyDeleteI have a sign in my kitchen that says "It's never to late to live happily ever after". This sign is dedicated to my husband, Jonathan. He is my second husband. The first husband was a toad. No amount of kissing could have turned him into a prince. Evidently someone had already kissed Jonathan when I found him cause he was already a prince. We have been together 14 years and he is still my very best friend. He is so funny and so much fun to be with! Oh yeah, my two sons are fun too. mostly. Just kiddin. They're sweeties too. Any one of my guys would love a quilt out of this fabric!! And they all have birthdays coming up. March 17, April 1 and April 19. That should be just enough time to finish a quilt.
ReplyDeleteThere are three men in my life. My husband, my 23 yo son and my 20 month old grandson.
ReplyDeleteLove your masculine quilt.
:o)
I guess when you aske us to talk about the men in our lives you mean husbands or significant others. Well my husband is pretty awesome (I mean he bought me a sewing machine for Christmas)! We've only been married for 2 years but usually it feels like we've always been married.
ReplyDeleteAside from him, I have a little bro that rocks, a great dad and a hillarious grandfather.
Thanks for the giveaway.
love that manly quilt. i made one for my dad for Christmas. The center was an old feed sack. He loved it! :)

ReplyDeleteI made a very similar quilt (colors and plaids) out of flannel as a rag quilt for my grown son. That was five years ago and he is still loving it.
ReplyDeleteThese fat quarters would work in a wall hanging I have on the idea board.
my man, my hubby of 12.5 yrs is a wonderful guy. We have 6 children and he is a wonderful father. I am blessed!! ~*B*~
ReplyDeleteSo many men....so little space :)

Love the quilt you made for your dad. Hmm men in my life, there are two. My husband of almost 5 years, we're one of those internet sucess stories and my son who will be 30 on Valentine's day. Unfortunately I haven't seen my son for almost 5 years, he's still living in Australia, but he's still the light of my life.
ReplyDeleteOoohhh, beautiful fabric. My man is gone right now. It's been a bit of a challenge with the baby with the broken elbow. :) And by the way, we have that book and my husband loves it! Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteI have been wanting to make a good cuddle blanket for my man because he says that all of ours are too girly. And therefore shivers on the couch while I'm cozy warm. Those fat quarters would be a good place to start.
ReplyDeletej.hillam@yahoo.com
Wow the men in my life huh! Well first of all I have a great husband who takes very good care of us. He is the ONLY guy stuck with 4 girls! He takes it all in stride stating often that purple and pink are good colors. He would love to have me make him something with those beautiful fat quarters! I can then tell you about my little man that would love his Auntie to make him a little quilt so he can snuggle up on the sofa and watch Scooby Doo. He is my darling little nephew Chase. He loves to have me make him anything from pj's to macaroni and cheese. He brings a smile to my face just thinking about him. He would love this fabric as browns remind him of his favorite Scooby Doo!
ReplyDeleteThe quilt for your Dad is so nice. As always you have done a wonderful job!
My man is AMAZING!!! Just bought me a new sewing machine because I have been dying to have one! I haven't really been into quilting in the past but blogging has got me wanting to create! Please pick me!!! joannakwilde@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteMy husband works a lot and is gone a lot so that I can stay home with the kids...he is a good provider...sometimes it can get crazy with him gone or I get frustrated when I know he will be gone but he has a good job and I don't have to work
ReplyDeleteLove the quilt for your Dad. Looks perfect!
ReplyDeleteThe Men in my life are just amazing. They all support me and all my sewing obsessions!

Lovely fabric...
ReplyDeleteI met my DH 22 years ago...as a teenager...but it took us marrying other people and divorcing them for us to realize we had it right the first time :o)
My 3 favorite men. DH ... we just celebrated our 42nd wedding anniversary. GS ... just 8yrs old and the love of our life. SIL .. he's a keeper and the best baker in our part of the world. So you see I could use the FQ's. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteMay Canadians enter?
ReplyDeleteI don't have a husband or a son as yet - the most important men in my life are my dad and my brother. My brother is getting married next week.

I have six men in my life! My husband is one of them....and five sons. It is totally awesome being the mom of five sons. I wish I could say they are all jump at my evey whim??? Hummmm oh...I do that for them??? I have known my husband since I was sixteen (good friends only)...he looked me up a few years after highschool and the rest is history.
ReplyDeletelove the fat quarters.

There are three men in this household right now. My wonderful husband, of nearly 20 years, and our two teenage boys - I mean young men. They are all pretty ok with my crafts and feminine presence and yet... how awesome to make them quilt with just my guys in mind. Finding fabrics that embrace the rugged strength and yet greatly creative elements of all their personalities is challenging. These fat quarters would a great start to my next project.
ReplyDeleteWhat inspiration! I just realized~I should make my dad a quilt! He would love it! I see these beautiful wovens and just know it. Dad is colder in his old age and hasn't been well, so I love this idea! Why didn't I think of it sooner? His birthday is coming.... Thanks Corrie. See how we help each other!?
ReplyDeleteLove your dad's quilt! The men in my life...they are both really tall? I have known my dh since he was a freshman in high school and I was taller than he was at that time. :D
ReplyDeleteI LOVE that fabric. I am such a plaid-a-holic. It works so well for him and it looks so comfy.
ReplyDeleteit's time to make the nephews a quilt. & this IS the one i want to make them. your MEN are so cute cuddling together.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE those fabrics! I would love to win these fat quarters!! :o) The men in my life include my incredibly hard working husband, and my 2 cute little boys (7 and 5) My oldest son is about to turn 8 and I've been thinking about making him a new quilt for his bed.. which would be my first BIG quilt ever. Somehow he has outgrown the trains, planes and trucks bedding he currently has. Thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteWell, I have 3 men in my life. My darling fiance` who I've loved spending every moment with for the past 6.5 years...well, maybe not every moment...just kidding. My dad, who is just amazing & can always make me laugh and of course my bubby(brother) who I miss terribly! geske2be@yahoo.com
ReplyDeleteWonderful man's quilt. Very creative! What can I say, I live with 5 son's and a husband. You would think that I would be an expert in the matter but still haven't reached that status because they are changing all of the time. I would love to use these fat quarters in a lap quilt for the family room. Thanks girls.
ReplyDeleteMy husband because he is smart, funny, and a great dad, My son because at 14 he will still let me give him a hug, and my daughter because we sometimes call her "the man child" something I really don't need to go into, she is a pretty tough 10yo though.
ReplyDeleteWow! Love the manly man quilt. After 30 years of marriage I am still crazy in love with my husband. He is the best thing that every happened to me. (I know, gag!!!) But it's true.
ReplyDeleteI have lots of men in my life, my perfect husband John (he always tells me to spend MORE money on quilting stuff!), my oldest son Justin, my younger son Joe, and 5 grandsons, all perfect as well.
ReplyDeleteI adore all the men in my life and can't imagine life without them.
My Dad passed away two years ago and my father-in-law last year and I miss them both terribly.
I am a lucky and blessed woman.
Now , the women in my life are another story!!

I love my DH and I love my Dad, both very special men in my life. Unfortuately, life threw them a curve. Both are stricken with Alzheimers. Dad at 71 and DH at 54! It's been hard, but I love them none the less. Making a quilt from these fabrics would suit either of them. Probably Dad, DH already has a nice comfy quilt I made for him. R.H.
ReplyDeleteI love it! I want to make a quilt for MY MAN--my husband. He just lost his job, and I would love to surprise him with this.
ReplyDeleteLove the men in my life! Three to be exact..first, hubby...the best! Second, son...serving a mission for our church! Third, dad...who just lost mom after 54 years of marriage...my hero!
ReplyDeleteThe quilt is beautiful. I'm making a manly quilt right now for a room parent. I had his daughter 2 years ago and he still comes twice per week to help with math. He has been ill and ordered to bed for a month. I think a quilt is in order. I live with a tom cat named Rusty, my husband, and 21 year old son. Men all around!
ReplyDeleteLove that manly quilt!
ReplyDeleteMy poor husb is surrounded by women, but he accepts it with good grace and never complains much about the shreds of fabric from rag quilting all over the house. :)
The men in my life overwhelm me...physically, mentally and numerically. I have 4 brothers, 4 sons and 1 husband. All of whom I adore and wouldn't trade for the world. I just don't have a lot of girly stuff, so those fat quarters would just fit right in at my house!!
ReplyDeleteI love my man. Cancer stole him from us this past fall. He was 29 and I miss terribly.
