I Cupcake New York

If you're looking to enter the giveaway -- it's at the bottom of the next post. Today's the last day!

I have to give a little travel log. I don't go out of town every day, or do I? I kind of do, just not alone with my husband. Last time we left the kids my oldest was 3. She's almost 16. It was time.

I checked out a couple of places you guys mentioned. Vanessa told me about Magnolia Bakery. Delicious -- we did have a cupcake for you. Got the cute t-shirt above for the one of the girls. They didn't have my size. I don't think people eating cupcakes are petite.

Weather was perfect. Did not need a coat! I think that was my most favorite thing about the whole trip. The temperature was nice.

We stayed right by Times Square. Wicked was fabulous. Rick said I couldn't bring a camera -- um, everyone else did. So no pictures of the inside of the theatre, but it was something to look at. The Wicked Witch of the West looked & dressed exactly like a gal I know, except she's not green. So it was a little hard to disassociate, but I did. Highly recommend. We walked & walked through Central Park. I bet it's gorgeous in the summer. Trees everywhere.

The big hit at the park was the man with puppies behind me. I guess people don't see a lot of puppies. :-) It was good "people watching".

This is not something you should not be seeing -- checking emails. I have quite a few pictures of him doing that, but I guess since it was part of his business trip, he had to be accessible. At least that's what he said.

Rockefeller Center - it was fun to watch the ice skaters. No, we didn't skate, not that brave or rich. Looks just like it does on TV.

Visited the Twin Towers - World Trade Center site. It's over sixteen acres -- it was all fenced off. There will be five skyscrapers and a museum and memorial. The museum & memorial are under construction.
Leela mentioned Roxy Cafe. We visited twice -- once for lunch & then for dessert. They must have had 20 amazing cheesecakes. Hard to decide.
Heath Toffee cheesecake -- we chose well.
We did a ton -- flea market, subway traipsing, death-defying cab rides, buying treats for the kids at Dylan's Candy Bar, shopping & more walking. Thanks for coming along.

Next time, we'll visit Purl Patchwork & I'll show you what I got Des.

  4. Great pictures! Thanks for sharing them as well as your thoughts on your trip. You were very fortunate to have that weather in March (we had below freezing temps last March). We also went to Roxy's one night after the theater. :D I'm so glad you liked Wicked. Now you can be POPULAR. ;)
