Spent all day Saturday at a big church humanitarian
work day who-ha.

Who-ha = Big Deal.
It was awesome and loads of fun.
My theme for everyone was:
Trying to encourage Quality not quantity.
Didn't get a picture of my other poster: Hug a Sewing Machine.
We focused on 6 different projects that would go towards an
Orphanage Module that our church puts together.

Wall Hangings to brighten up a room. We used some cute Moda pre-printed panels
to make this a quick project. Well, I guess 'quick' is an understatement,
but we didn't have to create the cuteness.
It was already printed for us. :)

These Wooden block sets rocked!! They were sanded and then rubbed down with mineral oil and packaged in durable drawstring bags. Don't you just want to take home about 100 of these and build something??

These were made in sets of 3, a cat, a bear and a frog. And obviously, these are rain forest frogs! All different colors of animals. What I loved about these puppets is they are just the right size for little hands. The kids get to tell the stories.

School Bags~ These are made to be filled up with very specific school supplies. Didn't get a picture of the acutal bag (how did that happen?) but here are the yards and yards of heavy duty fabric being serged and prepared to be sewn in to bags.

Karisa spearheaded the doll making.
One Hundred and Fifty PLUS dolls were cut, s
tuffed and sewn up. Aren't they cute?
Cute was also one of the goals.
Last but certainly not least........QUILTS. We had a workday to put them all together with batting and backing. They were 'enveloped' first, then topstitched around. They were already to go on the frames.
Binding was finished!!

I love seeing working hands.Vintage fabric! Loved it!!60 Wallhangings
39 sets of puppets
150 baby dolls
68+ sets of blocks (24 to a set)
23+ tied quilts
62 schoolbags
Now that's a Work Day!
