It's hard to have so many people to love.
So many things to make for those loved ones.
This little tablerunner is for a friend with a beautiful brown bamboo floor.
The Sultry line from basic grey just reminded me of her house. It's also hard to be obsessed with Avocados when you live in Idaho. But I found a great batch at Sam's Club and my bowels will never be the same again. I could eat them like an apple and have been doing so, hence the problem as noted above.
I was going to do a WHOLE post on avocados but decided I could kill two birds with one stone (although, I don't even LIKE that analogy. Who would kill birds?? Not me!) AND save you the pain of THAT conversation, me and avocados. And please don't hate me because I don't iron my table cloths. I have better things to do, like eat avocados.
I'm so happy that I've ventured out of my comfort zone. My machine quilting prowess has consisted of Loopy-Loo's for quite sometime now. I have now graduated to some scrolliness. I'm very pleased.
More avocados. I was going to cut one in half because that would have been soooo pretty. But again, because I tend to overdo my passions........I just couldn't bring myself to look at another avocado pit.
This runner is also reversible because I believe in...........change. "I could chaaange the world" said Eric Clapton.......one table runner at a time.

Sweet runner there Des. Your quilting looks super. I snagged a charm pack of Sultry here locally..wonder if I'll ever actually use it? I wonder if you're really up this late, or if you're organized enough to pre-program posts in advance?

Love the runner, love avacados, love your wittiness.
ReplyDeleteI like it. I have an avacado salad you would probably like!
ReplyDeleteMmmmm, I loves me some avocado and I looooove that runner too! Sorry about your bowels. Just be sure you're stocked up on bowel towels next time you stock up on avocados. (Always good advice in my opinion) I was hungry for guacamole, but now I'm not so sure.
ReplyDeleteSUPER cute!!!
ReplyDeleteand how dare you not iron your tablecloth, i mean geez.
*wink wink*
Love the runner! I figured out a way to put on binding without doing it by hand and still have it look nice...would have been nice to do had I not already started hand binding my table runner.
ReplyDeleteI love avocadoes! My favorite way to eat them is sliced with milk and sugar...try it! (even if you think it sounds gross) It's delicious!
Those are all so cute...lucky recipients!
ReplyDeleteYou know what! I was noticing your quilting skills! Fabulous! The runner, the quilting, the avocados!
ReplyDeleteAwesome table runner!! Love the design also. But sorry to tell ya I just dont like avacados and you can have them all! Ill even steal some from my hubby and give them all to you.

ReplyDeleteThat is one sweet table runner! I ADORE that Sultry fabric. However,I do not adore avacados. No thank you. And good for you on exploring your inner machine quilting goddess. Very, very nice. I'm envious. You do beautiful work. Oh and my word verification is dessess. :)
ReplyDeleteI LOVE that runner. Awesome fabrics. Oh, I would never hate you for not ironing your tablecloths....it makes you more human, and I love it!
ReplyDeletelove love this fabric line and your running is beautiful. love the quilting too! fabulous
ReplyDeleteThe runner is beautiful! I like your new scrolly quilting too. Is this just charms so together or have they been cut down in size? I love avocados, in fact I just said to dh wouldn't it be great if we could have an avocado tree in our backyard (yeah right, in north Idaho!). My niece in law's parents have a HUGE one in their backyard - southern CA though.
ReplyDeleteHm....your avocados seem to be inspiring in more ways than one, Des!!!
ReplyDeleteCheers!
Yes, it's just charms sewn together, 4x9.... you can always beg Corrie for a kit. :D

I love the pretty table runner! Thanks for the quick shipping of the vintage baby quilt in red and aqua. I love it and look forward to making it soon! Keep up the good work.....and watch out for the avocados!
ReplyDeleteYour scrolling looks great.
ReplyDeleteLove the Eric Clapton reference!
ReplyDeleteYour scrolliness looks wonderful!
Your fancy quilting looks great, and that sultry fabric looks like something my stash could use! Good job.
ReplyDeleteI would ask if I could be your friend and would you make me a table runner, but I guess I could just stop being lazy and make one for myself. :)
ReplyDeleteYours is beautiful! Your friend will be so pleased.
The table runner looks great. I love the colors. What a lucky friend!
ReplyDeleteI love your swirls. Very nice!
ReplyDeleteAlas, I am the lucky friend. And I love love love it. Having that beautiful table runner on my normally neglected dinner table has spurned me to clean and polish my dining room so that it more closely matches the grandeur of the runner. In short, it is way cute. And I love my friend Des. And the chocolate ricrac matches my dark bamboo floor like a dream.
