Update: well,.... we're really feeling in the dumps now. That was a great PITTy party. One of us won't be sad -- vikingmom!! Woohoo! Des is a stickler for contestants leaving their email address..."No email, she's out." WAIT, I know that name...I can find her. Gotcha covered waagaa :-) Congrats!
Well, we're not at Quilt Market (in PITTsburgh, Pennsylvania) & you're not either.
Let's have a PITTy Party together.
Today's giveaway will be 1 yard of some cherry PITT themed fabric.
It will be surprise.
Leave a comment telling us what is the pitts in your life today.
We'll start:
Corrie Dawn is on Jury Duty. She loves her country, but really, I'm visiting her right now and her civic duty is getting in the way.
Desi Jean: I'm still trying to get over the pitty birthday cake from yesterday. :(
Rain rain rain and more rain! The weather her STINKS. ;o) ooxx`jodi
ReplyDeleteOur weather sucks lately, bought bedding plants and they are taking up all the space in my entrance as it's been too cold to leave them outside, let alone plant them! I'm also not losing my baby weight...seven months down already! And nothing sucks more than not fitting any of my clothes!
ReplyDeleteMy son is recovering from getting a g-tube because he is allergic to food. That is totally the Pitts! He came home from the hospital just in time for my other son's birthday today. Nothing worse than watching your 3 year old in pain while you should be celebrating the amazingness of being a Mom;)
ReplyDeleteHello.
ReplyDeleteI want sun shine- the weather are cold and the wind are playing.. And my arm hurts so I cant quilt all that I want....
But to tell a secret- there are more happiness than pitts in my life now.I just loved you fabrics... Hugs.
Chance for a whinge, great! I have been fasting all day and tomorrow as well because I have to go to hospital and have some tests, I'm sooo hungry! All I'm allowed is clear fluids and I can't even have coffee. I'm even seeing food in this giveaway!
ReplyDeletewell... actualy my whole week just kind of s*cks... on the 9th it was 37 years ago my dad died in an car-accident, on sunday was mothersday and I missed my mom really really bad. she died 2 years ago of cancer. she would have been 63..--> tomorrow.... than there is the thing of having to go to the dentist for whom I am deeply terrified, no honnestly, I am! I am sewing blocks together to create a quilt but I can't seem to find the right fabric in my stash to compliment the allready excisting blocks.... go to the fabricstore? uhuh my bankaccount is EMPTY....... okay, do I need to go on? I live in the Netherlands, cold, wet and windy at the moment... my tulips have all gone out of bloom, and I just feel sorry for myself....
ReplyDeletethe worst part is : my little boy had stereo injections to make him resistant to some illnesses, and he has been crying ever since he got them, he is in pain... and that is of all my misery the biggest .... I'll go back into my corner and cuddle myself...
My door has a lock. I went out my door and then it locked. I had no keys and I had less than 24 hours until the "big market". It's the pit(t)s. Cherries look fun though!
ReplyDeleteNot feeling well... whiny kids... no idea what I'm making for dinner... no fun!
ReplyDeleteI'm in the "pitts" because my hubby has been away on business since Sunday and he'll be back on Saturday. His birthday is today! and we miss him.
ReplyDeletecarol_busse@yahoo.com
I'm throwing myself a pitty party because my boyfriend forgot my birthday, then when he remember the next day I got a 1000 page book on wine :S Poor me
ReplyDeleteThe pitts because I can't buy any fabric online yet, our bank hasn't got a Visa debit card yet, and we killed the Visa credit card a month ago.
ReplyDeleteThe pitts is living with a man recovering from shoulder surgery and realizing I alone can't do it all!!! Can't mulch, hurt my back, can't fix the sliding door, can't find the bulb to the back light on my car...."Calgon take me away"....
ReplyDeleteHappy sewing to all!!!!
Right now, the weather's the Pitts. It's cold, grey, drizzly, and icky. We need to get out of the house. The house stinks. Because of the poor little Pitty mouse that came in out of the cold, drizzly weather, and fell down inside the wall. He stinks.
ReplyDeleteA lot of people talk about the weather :) Someone wants rain, someone sunshine... I also want some rain. It's too hot for me. And we have no air conditioner :(
ReplyDeleteSince we just got some sod...bring on the rain!!! However, my baby is graduating from HS...:( But she is a doll!!! :)
ReplyDeleteUniversity work has been piling up lately, assignments are waiting and tests must be sat. I just sat for a law test several hours ago. It did not go well, and I say this hopelessly: I did not complete the test.
ReplyDelete*Thanks for the opportunity to complains =D
* Tho I have to say that my problem is so petty compared to the others. So here's to more sunny and pitt-less days for all of us! =D =D
i have to GO to work today...but that's the lighter side of my problems...no airing out of my dirty laundry here...
ReplyDeleteClouds and rain, clouds and rain - I want to get my hands in the dirt, not in the MUD! On the up side, the lilacs are in bloom and you know there are few finer scents in the whole wide world, so I'll go out there even in the rain to get a nose-full!
ReplyDeleteI bought some flowers yesterday thinking annuals come back every year without replanting, but it's actually perennials that do that. That's the pitts!!!
ReplyDeleteI have to agree with everyone who said weather--it's raining constantly here, which is okay, but there is NO SUNSHINE!! I would love a little cherry-picking to pick up my spirits!!
ReplyDeleteLike most people .... My pitt is it's raining again .... the pool opens in 9 days ... will the sun ever shine in our little town.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful fabric.
I need to do yard work, which means that I don't have much time to do what I like -- make stuff with fabric! Thanks for the chance.
ReplyDeleteI am in thye middle of a dyi kitchen remodel. The mess it entails is the pitts!
ReplyDeleteRain would be the only thing that is the pitts around here. Everything else is pretty good...a long to do list but have a healthy, happy family so not many complaints from over here.
ReplyDeletehere's whats the pitts with me: i'm on a diet. ugh.
ReplyDeleteMy pitts is that I have a stupid sinus cold AGAIN (two months in a row - grrr). But then I read some of these other pitts, and I realize I should be grateful instead of whining....
ReplyDeleteI should be helping my kids get ready for school...finding the same lost pair of shoes everyday!...that's the pits!
ReplyDeleteAt my house it's just the pITtS that I have to CLEAN and can't spend the day just crafting and sewing and playing....
ReplyDeleteThe rain is the "pitts" today. I was going to go get my flowers and vegetables to plant with my kids today. Oh well, it is suppose to be sunny tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteOh, I have a big 'pitt' today! One of my other loves (besides fabric, of course) is kayaking. I have been looking for one and found the perfect kayak to buy and it was $250 off. Fabulous deal! So, I went to buy it... and the sale was over. ugh. I almost cried.

My husband is a garbage man and he woke me up at 3:40 AM (I thought that was a myth) and told me that our dog had destroyed(cloth cover AND plastic) our daughters $90 car seat and then destroyed the garbage and spread, amongst other things, dirty diapers all over my dining room floor. On top of that I was gone all day and came home to my husband SLEEPING for 3 hours instead of cleaning one. single. thing. in our house. (I dearly love him, but that is the pitts)
ReplyDeleteCan I please join the PITTy party?
Good news....we are celebrating our anniversary ( 34 years!!!). The bad part.....getting up at 5am to start traveling. YAWN!!! Thanks for the chance to win some cute fabric. Hugs, Annie

ReplyDeleteMy dang allergies are cramping my style!
ReplyDeleteIt's the PITTS that I am on a fabric-buying moratorium not because I want to be good and use up my stash, but because my husband started a business and we are broke! I haven't been able to get my hands on any of the beautiful stuff that has come out in the last year or so. Bring on the cherries!
ReplyDeleteI'd have to say the WIND! It's been wild. But hopefully today will be good.
ReplyDeleteI pity the fact that I am not in Pitts with all the new fabric!!
ReplyDeleteThe weather is the PITS around here! Major storms last night and major cleanup this morning. Our poor neighbors have a beautiful tree uprooted in their yard. More storms on their way!!! UGH!
ReplyDeleteAnother pity story- went to my local fabric store for more of the aqua cherries from Farmer's Market to finish a project!!! SOLD OUT! I only need 1/3 yard! UGH!
My babies all got up at 6:30AM this morning! Yuck! And I can't figure out how to use my walking foot to quilt a baby quilt.
ReplyDeleteThe pitts for me is that I just refinished our deck a couple of days ago and the rain predicted for our area came early! I wasn't really pleased with the color when I was done and now it appears as if it has changed into something even more unappealing. All that work!!! :(
ReplyDeleteThe bright side is that I LOVE cherries and have been looking for some cherry fabric! Thanks for the chance!
The pitts for me today is that I started eating candy before 7:30 a.m. Great. Des I loved your cake, Cor I hate jury duty. Have fun you two.

ReplyDeleteIts cloudy and it is STILL COLD!
ReplyDeleteI love that fabric though.

ReplyDeleteMy sister and her kids went home today. Worse for them, they're stuck at the airport.
ReplyDelete"Pitt"y teachers. Yuck. With so many great teachers out there, why so some have to be so "pitt"y.
ReplyDeleteThe pitts here today is that it's hot, hot, hot...and I need to do yardwork!!! But actually, reading the other comments has made me feel better...I could have it worse, you know!
ReplyDeleteToday I've in my home, because is a celebration of my country work. And,... I think in the Pitt's...

ReplyDeleteThanks for another wonderful giveaway, and it's my turn to win it.
My little 2 year old grand daughter has an ear infection and the high fever accompanying it. She is miserable, so I know she feels like the pitts. And she does love cherries.

ReplyDeleteI've had thyroid issue for awhile now and found out yesterday that the 2 nodules on my thyroid have grown to 5 nodules. But that I was handling until I talked to my aunt...
After hearing her go "unh, unh, unh ... for crying out loud" more times than any person should ever say in a lifetime, I was ready to rip her tongue right out of her mouth. Good thing we were on the phone, eh? Or I'd be writing this somewhere other than my home.
I have to do an outdoor wedding on Friday and an outdoor craft fair on Saturday, and it's supposed to rain the rest of the week :(

ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway!
Oh, I'm good at whining to myself, but I try really really hard not to complain to others. So I have just a little gripe. All three kids have pink eye. It's gross, but getting better. Have a good day girls and enjoy each other's company. Oh, and I have jury duty coming up too!

I live in Detroit, where we are permanently in the pitts. Just as it seemed the unemployment picture was leveling off, 40+ dealerships in Michigan are closing. We really need a break from all of this depressing news. At least it's sunny today! Maribeth
ReplyDeleteI'm in the pitts because I'm going to have to miss my writing group tonight. Bwahhhh!
ReplyDeleteI'm on about 6 different pills - mult vitamin, vitamin supplements, acid reducer, iron - all to help with keeping up some energy, and stop the heartburn and leg cramps. And yet I managed to catch a wicked head cold - and what I'm allowed to take for that while pregnant is pretty pitiful.
ReplyDeleteIt's the Pitts that I start couples therapy tonight with my boyfriend :(
ReplyDeleteMy Uncle Raymond passed away yesterday and my Dad has been sick since he got to my house.
ReplyDeleteI am Debbie Downer.
I love cherries. You know this. I know you do.
I'm afraid I'm not eligible for this particular giveaway. You see, I just found out last night that . . . wait for it . . . I'M GOING TO BE A GRANDMOTHER!!!!! My first grandbaby will be here in approximately 8.5 months!!! HOO-RAY!!! So you see, I can find no pitts today. Maybe tomorrow, but not today. Perhaps fabric for baby quilts is what I should be looking for. :)
ReplyDeleteNo peanut butter bars left in the house... tell me what could be worse than that? And I have a mountain of dishes to do so that I can make them all dirty again by making dinner.
ReplyDeleteI just realiezed today after 3 months of very hard work trying to meet my weight loss goal by my 30th birthday that unless a miracle happens I will not be able to meet it and I still have 14 weeks to go. That really took the wind out of my sail today!!!
ReplyDeleteWhere is Spring?! I want some sunshine!
ReplyDeleteUmmmmmmmmmm I am at work rather than out in the gorgeous sunshine or home sewing....the pitts!!!
ReplyDeleteI love cherries! Doing laundry with hypoallergenic (fragrance free) laundry detergent is the pitts! I am denied the one and only pleasure possible from this tedious task - GOOD smelling laundry! Sometimes the sacrifices of mommydom are just TOO much. Darn those sensitive skinned offspring (& their dad who gave it to them)!
ReplyDeleteNice cake Des...kindred spirits once again!
What is the PITTS?? That I will probably never get to meet all of the super people I have met online.
ReplyDeleteI'm throwing myself a Pitty party because there are lots of sewing projects I'd like to be doing, but no funds for fabric. :( It's raining outside and there's nothing to do when my daughter takes her nap, except housework, yuck!
ReplyDeleteDo you want to really hear about what is the "pitts" for me? First I am having pain in my left foot so I can't exercise. Second, My elbow is killing me so I can't do any hand work. Third, I am bored to death. A person can only do so much around the house. Well there you go, you had to ask. Hope you are having a super duper great time.
ReplyDeleteIt's so sad today that a friend of mine lost her Mother this morning.
ReplyDeleteI have waited to the last minute to clean my house for my sister's visit. However it will be berry delicious to hang out with her and her family.

ReplyDeleteThis whole week has been the "Pitts" for me. My husband and I are temporarily separating and I've been trying to fit all of my belongings that had lived in a 4 story house into 2 rented rooms. So, I'm sad, and alone, and to top it off everything is a big jumbled mess and I can't find everything!!!
ReplyDeletewhats the in the pitts for me is that this was my first week back to work after my 2nd baby and I really would love to stay at home with both my babies most of the time. 2nd big thing is that the bank decided to put a on a hold my insurance check that I deposited till next week. ReplyDeleteToday, is my first visit to your Quilt Taffy Blog and I'm very happy to find alot of like minded people. There appears to be lots of fun things to enjoy. It's a lovely day in Northern California today.....so my PITTyParty is that I have five of these little pink slips, inviting me to your Blog, that came in my purchases...and it took me this long to get here. I'm a delighted new member. Cherries are grown a' plenty in the valley in which I live.........yeah, cherries.
ReplyDeleteWell after a 2 year wait I received the information on my DH Medicare. Horray, no more paying for Private Insurance (which is highly expensive), sounded good to me until I found out this won't go into effect until September 1st, ugh......4 more months. I could be spending this money on what.....fabric!
ReplyDeleteRae Ann
It's the pits that I'm currently on this "work-in-progress" diet and I can't have sugar. Des, your cake looks FABULOUS to me!!! So does the cherry pit fabric! ooxx to you both ~ Stitch
ReplyDeleteMy son had his vaccines and has a slight fever. Acetaminophen would help, but every time I give it to him he projectile vomits everywhere!
ReplyDeleteStephanie@eyeballgirl.com
Long, cold winter and it can't warm up yet this spring. The pontoon sits on the lift and it's STILL TOO COLD to even go out for a ride. Enough already!
ReplyDeleteOkay cherry fabric is my favorite all time fabric ever, ever. State testing for second grade is the pitts. One little girl was so frustrated today that she wrote "this makes no sense" across her test booklet. I hoping Sacramento will see her message and cancel testing for next year. I need cherry fabric to endure the remaining three days of testing. Fabric helps make everything better.
ReplyDeleteOh the wind and rain today - it blew all the petals from my pretty flowering almond - bleccch!
ReplyDeleteWould love to see some of those beautiful cherry fabrics.
kareno369(@)hotmail(dot)com
I am running a garage sale today, Friday and Saturday with my sisters. We all just have sub standard crap to sell, and even with all things under $3, we are still left with most crap. Did I mention my sisters? Did I mention me taking care of nieces and nephews that don't mind adults? Im sure the lot will be left for me to deal with, and I won't even have made enough money to cover this weeks grocery bill. Thank you for the chance to win fabric, it brightens my day!
ReplyDeleteIt was snowing yesterday and today here. My recent plantings have withered up from the -4 degree weather overnight. Isn't it mid May?
ReplyDeleteThe "pitts" for me today is I was supposed to teach CPR to 35 people and 10 actually showed up. What is with people today that they don't RSVP or if they do they don't end up showing up anyway. Grrrrrr
ReplyDeleteI am having a pity party because we had a leak in our laundry room and now the whole floor has to be replaced :-(
ReplyDeletehiyall,
ReplyDeletePitts for me is that I got fired from my old job. a job that paid a decent wage, full time and medical. I did get another job rather quickly but its part time, 1/3 less pay and no medical. Its the pitts that I will probaly have to take on at least one other part time job to make ends meet and still have no medical. but you do what you have to do! (mauh) Liz
I am not actually in the pits today. One more day of work and then the weekend. Catch me Monday morning...that will be a real pity party :-)
ReplyDeleteToday was pretty a pretty good day so I really can't complain. My hubby is gone tonight, that is the pitts. I don't have enough time in my sewing room as of late, that's also the pitts. I love your giveaway ideas.
ReplyDeletegordandalisa(at)gmail(dot)com
The weatherman says it is more rain for tomorrow! Ugh! Plus its work again tomorrow - but then I think how blessed I am to have a job unlike so many others including my son-in-law who just got laid off Wednesday.
ReplyDeleteThe pitts today would be my garden freezing out over night. Time to replant.
ReplyDeletersgrandinetti(at)yahoo(dot)com

ReplyDelete
