  30. I'm going to suggest a new purse made out of some of those yummy non-flannel christmas prints. Beki (artsy-crafty babe blog) has a sweet (and free) purse pattern on her blog that would be adorable made from those prints. And who doesn't need a Christmas purse in July? Okay, she might not be able to use it right now, but the holidays will be here before you know it. I love me a cute Christmas purse. Makes me feel special to have a purse that I can only use for a few weeks.

And thankyou for the opportunity to win your giveaway!

  36. Oooh that Jingles fabric is cute, but I love Candyland so that is a tough choice.
A birthday present- how about a selection of different colored spools of thread? My mom sent me some and I loved having different colors and what quilter doesn't need thread all the time.

  50. Of course, we quilters can never have enough fabric, but maybe Corrie does. I love the A&E versions of Sense and Sensibility as well as Pride and Prejudice. But that's me. Also, I like Estee Lauder's Intuition (if they still sell it -- it has been a while since I bought it). Of course, a handmade gift -- a quilt, a bag, cards, et cetera -- would always be appreciated by my sisters.

  51. If you have time a cute quilt as you so sew quilt would be a great gift.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Hmm...is she into girly bath stuff? How about some lovely bath products (bath bomb, bubble melty, etc. - have you tried Lush?) in a cute little travel bag? That way the bag is reusable after she's used up all her product.

    ReplyDelete
  53. What about a cute bag for your sis? Lots of different fabric choices.

    ReplyDelete
  54. I don't know how "old" Corrie is. My Corrie-mom is 50 (my mother-in-law), and she loves gardening and anything to go in the garden. If your Corrie likes cooking, get her an herb garden or something. Or maybe a fun day out on the town. I am such a terrible gift giver. But I love making things for kids (they are easy to please).
    HAPPY (almost) BIRTHDAY CORRIE!!!

  57. I love the jingle flannel, it looks so soft and snuggly, I can just imagine squeezing my little loves on Christmas morning wearing adorable pjs.

For Corrie, I think she needs an escape. A way to recapture her youth, I vote for concert tickets. Now before you start looking to see if Duran Duran is having a reunion, remember at her age (I'll be there in 3 years) the Beach Boys or Neil Diamond may be a tamer option, that won't raise her blood pressure to much.

  58. I would give her a maid for a day to get her housework all done so she can laze or sew. I love the Christmas flannels.

  64. Everyone is suggesting nice gifts but since you said "getting older by the minute", I'm thinking something not that nice. How about reading glasses, Ben Gay rub, prune juice, etc? A friend gave these all to me on my birthday but then she sweetened it up with a favorite book and some chocolate.

  66. Beautiful fabrics. I've not quilted with fabric before so I'd probably lean toward the Candyland line.
I'm all about functional gifts--does she like purses, wallets, that sort of thing? There are billions of beautiful tutorials for purses and wallets and they can be personalized so nicely with just the right fabrics.

    ReplyDelete
  67. I'd suggest a bunch of coordinating items to take over her purse - a kleenex pouch, change purse, key ring wristlet, cheque book cover, business card holder, etc.

My suggestion for your sweet sister is a little bag and wrap up several special gift certificates. Life having a pedicure, or a massage, a certificate for a day away with YOU! Take her to a special place for lunch and then both of you get pedicures :-) It would be so much more special if you spend time with her. That is better then a material gift. And be sure to take lots of pictures, and give her a little album to put the pictures in for a memory. Hope you both enjoy HER special day! Sisters are special! Thanks for th giveaway :-)
