too much....

Things have been a little quiet here... too much going on.

But there's a quilt at the end of the tunnel.

Last fall, I walked into the county extension office & drooled over all of the amazing 4-H projects that my kids could do. I even became a leader. I vaguely remember the person there, telling me that 3 projects was a load. I thought, 3, good grief, but then they won't get to do this one or that one. We can do more, we'll spread it out, complete it & do the paperwork right then. That didn't happen. My girls did 5, Shadowman did 3.

The kids have their interviews now, even though the fair isn't for a little while.

We have been doing nothing but 4-H paperwork & project completion for five days straight. I now know more about their paperwork than I would care to. These books & their contents have been on our kitchen table for a week. We've had to eat outside.

Everything else stopped.

But today, we got out of the house, went to the church to tie one of Bella's projects.

She used the Baskets of Flowers turnovers & charm pack to make this baby quilt. Pretty quick & easy! After the fair, it will go to our church humanitarian efforts.

I'm sure by the end of the fair. I'll think this was so worth it. I'll let you know. We have much more to show you :-).

  2. I love her quilt--she is learning early to do great things! Thanks for the four red fat quarters that I won on your giveaway last week. I feel very lucky! I received them in the mail today and I just love them! I will post about them in the next day or so...again, thanks so much!

  6. What a wonderful quilt! 4-H is ALL about the paperwork, don't you love it? I'm a leader too so I know all about the forms, forms and MORE forms! But if that's what the state wants us to do in order to keep funding us, then I'll do ten times as much!
