Unexpected.
A little customized thank you from Anya ~ one of our summer winners! I love a surprise in the mailbox.
You've Got Mail.
Have you embraced the selvage movement?
Because her postcard was such a perfect fit for all of the 5" selvages that we have....
I begged for a tutorial. Anya already had plans to do one. It's there.
So, after our big giveaway last week, we need to recover.
Selvages = the perfect freebie.
Plus let's have more than 1 winner. Let's have 11.
Today's giveaway is however many selvages I put in an envelope.
Random drawing later tonight.
What I like to find in my mailbox? Hand-written cards and letters from family and friends! What's better than that?!
ReplyDeleteI like my mail box gets full, it doesn't happen often, too bad for me, lol. I'm always waiting for letters, that way I'm trying to understand the people I'm writing to, but since the fact I love to quilt, I'm getting crazy if I find any quilt stuff there, even a quilting ad, lol. I know I got the quilting bug, and it isnt going to dissapear soon!
ReplyDeleteA letter from my deployed husband, or a package of exotic find to show the kids about the new country or place he is seeing. That has got to be the cutest postcard ever in the world!
ReplyDeleteall i want in my mail box is fabric, and selveges!
ReplyDeletethanks!!
packages from quilt shoppes of course!
ReplyDeleteI love to get anything in the mail that is not bill! I once sent my boyfriend a card in the mail just for a surprise for him. Love getting fabric and patterns and knowing they are coming and waiting for the postie to come!
ReplyDeleteI love to find suprise packages in my mail box or things I had forgotten I has sent for!!
ReplyDeleteAnything really. THanks for a great giveaway.
I always love to find an unexpected check in the mailbox. I also love a free sample of something I have been wanting to try. (the second is slightly more common, but I don't get a lot of either)
ReplyDeletePrize winnings are always a happy maker at my mailbox!
How fun! As for my mailbox... packages from family, especially when they're unexpected!
ReplyDeleteI love to get my fabric orders and magazines in my mailbox.
ReplyDeleteI want to get the next episodes of Gilmore Girls from Netflix today. I hope it comes. Anyways, I recently saw a selvedge quilt in a quilt store and went "duh, that's how they get the dots on there!" So I really want to try it.
ReplyDeleteAren't Anya's selvage postcards the best? I love to find selvages in my mailbox, but honestly I'm happy to find anything but BILLS!
ReplyDeleteWell, there are lots of things I'd like to find in my mailbox, not least of which is a check for millions of dollars. In the absence of that, I suppose I could be extremely happy with fabric, crafting supplies, cards from friends and family, a quilting magazine, or a quilt. Sensing a theme?
ReplyDeleteI just love when the latest quilt magazine comes in the mail. We pick names for Christmas and my SIL asked my husband what I would want. He suggested a quilt magazine. Love him!!! It's like getting a present every month.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance,
~Karen~
Fabric with butterfly prints on it. We dont have fabric for quilting specially made for quilters in our country and I sit and drool over the blogs and the fabric that is shown!
ReplyDeleteMystica
coupons! Oh my I love a good coupon! and free samples! it could be itching cream--doesn't matter--love me some free samples!
ReplyDeleteOOooooooOOOOooo...I love selvages, and using them! Count me in! I love finding little presents in my mailbox. Such a nice change from the usual bills and junk mail.
ReplyDeleteI love to find anything in my mailbox that involves fabric. Thanks for the chance for the selvage giveaway and for posting about the postcard and tute!
ReplyDeleteWhy of course, fabric and block exchanges, and fabulous quilting patterns - OK, anything quilt related. Oh, and letters from my kids, which rarely happens, OK ~ NEVER happens. Stitch sagegrey@custertel.net
ReplyDeleteI love to find anything in my mail box, exept bills ahahaha
ReplyDeleteHandwrited letters are great also big boxes with craft stuff inside, is like chrismas!!!!!
thanks
OH I love when I get packages of fabric or something fun from a friend! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks!
Why selvages of course!! OK how about a package from my mother in NZ with all sorts of NZ goodies in it that I can't get here - cookies, chocolates, particular baking supplies - mmmmm I am salivating thinking about it!!
ReplyDeleteMy family lives in CA and we love it when Grandma & Grandpa send notes, large envelopes or boxes!! It's great hearing from them and receiving "love" in the mail! :)
ReplyDeletetlbunker@hotmail.com
i love to get packages in the mail...anything....i just love waiting for stuff to come and then tearing into it! i hope i win these selvages!!
ReplyDeleteI love to get letters from friends and packages in the mail. If it is unexpected, even better.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance to win. I would love to make a zipper pouch out of these selvages if I win.
I love a handwritten anything!! I appreciate email but a handwritten letter is a real treat! Of course fabric and selvedges will elicit squeals too!
ReplyDeleteI love to get packages that I'm expecting, cards and letters from friends and family (don't get much of that anymore thanks to email). I would love to find a big check one day that would allow me to be a stay at home mom! But, on a more realistic note, an envelope of selvage would be a nice surprise!
ReplyDeleteKim
kimrward@charter.net
I'd love to find a note from my sister who's about to board a fishing boat in Alaska. She's so far away! (Oh and I wouldn't mind a few selvages from the Taffy girls!)
ReplyDeleteOne million dollars!!! :D But in the real world, fabric and chocolate would be a perfect mail day.
ReplyDeleteI love finding fabric in mailbox and Christmas catalogs.
ReplyDeleteI love getting thank you cards after I've sent a gift in the mail. But my all time favorite is getting new patterns and fabric that I've ordered, it seems like it dosen't come quick enough though! oohsaahsw@aol.com
ReplyDeleteI like to find letters from my SIL,
ReplyDeletehand written is so much nicer times.

I love to see a new magazine or catalog in the mail. But I would really love to see a package of selvages in the mail. It would be a great day!
ReplyDeleteI am hoping to find all my recent orders in the mailbox TODAY, because tomorrow hubby is home and I am not sure how to explain myself!!! ;0)
ReplyDeleteI just love "You've Got Mail." I like all packages of any sort. And...I hate bills like everyone else. Why do the two things seem to go hand in hand?
ReplyDeleteWell I like to find selvages in my mailbox, except that never happens. Really I like to find packages in the mailbox, especially when I'm not expecting them!
ReplyDeletespackattak7 at hotmail dot com
what a cute postcard, and i LOVE selvedges!!
ReplyDeletei am sure anticipating for my dqs7 quiltie to come in my mail box soon!! have you gotten yours?
I love when I have new quilt magazines in my mailbox. Anything but bills!
ReplyDeleteIt’s sad to admit, but I am a catalog nut. I love to get new catalogs in my mailbox. My favorites are home furnishing ones. I pour over them dreaming up new things to do with our house… too bad it’s usually always a dream as our house is bunker proof for three kids four and under!
ReplyDeleteThe selvages are gorgeous. We quilters aren't hard to please. Would love to find money lots and lots of money!
ReplyDeleteSelvedges...what a wonderful giveaway! Of course my favorite thing to find in the mailbox is money...followed by fabric!
ReplyDeleteI would like to find packages from any of the on-line fabric stores I had visited!
ReplyDeleteHonestly, as long as it's not a bill and not junk mail, Im pleased with anything in my mailbox. I love when my daughter gets mail especially, she gets SO EXCITED.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the selvage giveaway, what fun!

I love cards and letters from friends. I love catalogues from quilt shops and I love my monthly FQ fix.
ReplyDeleteWhat I love to get in my mailbox is mailboxjoys. That is what we call unexpected surprises (big or small does not matter)from my quiltfriends with a kind word to cheer you up.
ReplyDeleteI would love to find a letter to me from my grandma in my mailbox, she's been gone for a few years now, and I miss her terribly. I think it would be like finding money in last years winter coat. You didn't miss it cuz you didn't know it was there but once you find it, you're so happy! I also love finding packages from Quilt Taffy in there. hehe. And Christmas cards. All fun stuff.
ReplyDeleteI love it when I get an actual letter or card in my mailbox, instead of just bills and junk mail!! (I think I would want to make a check-book cover out of the selvages if I won-those are too cute!)
ReplyDeleteHow fun is this!!! I love getting my magazines in the mail. It is like a big treat. Then to open it up while sitting in a comfie chari and go over each page... back to front!
ReplyDeleteI was going to do a selvage edge project at my retreat next month... now I know the project has to be "postcards"! Thanks!
Honestly...I think the best thing to get in the mail would be something addressed to my little kids. They get so excited when they get something in the mail...oh the simple pleasures!!!
ReplyDeleteI love to find goodies that I have won. Crossing my fingers and toes to find this one in my mailbox.
ReplyDelete=D melanie
Awesome postcard! I would like to find less junk mail in my mailbox. It's a complete waste of trees! Have a good day!
ReplyDeleteFabric! I love finding fabric in my mailbox. I'm waiting for some to appear any day now too.
ReplyDeletewhat a cool quilt those selveges would make . As for my mail box do you think Tim Daly will fit in it, doubt it, I'll have to stick with Netflix.
ReplyDeleteWhat would I like to find in my mailbox??? I love getting mail but the neatest thing that I can think of right now would be a letter from an old friend that I have been trying to find. Her name is Andrea. We went to school together in the 3rd grade and wrote back and forth. Well, years passed and we continued to write and then both of us stopped writing and I haven't heard from her in years. So, that would be really neat to me if I could somehow find her or her find me and get a letter from her. :0)
ReplyDeleteOther than that I LOVE mail. I am new to quilting and have really been enjoying learning how to do that. I joined the Block of the month club at a local quilt shop here in town......long story but they had to discontinue it so I am trying to continue doing quilting on my own.
Thanks for the chance in the drawing. How neat. I'm glad that I found your site!!
Angie
Anything but bills.HA! I love getting fabric, patterns, swaps and surprises!
ReplyDeleteHand-written letters are always welcome! Anyway, all kinds of quilting-related packages are best! (selvages especially... I never win anything, though)
ReplyDeleteI love getting cards in the mail...how cool to see a tutorial to use selvages! Nothing fabric related should get tossed!
ReplyDeleteWell I'd like to at last receive a check refund that I'm due. Then I'd love a package of selvages. Throw me into the pot, please. thanks
ReplyDeleteI would love to find a winning lottery ticket in my mail box, a new sewing machine, a new house, oh and a little pony. I think im going to need a bigger mailbox tho.
ReplyDeleteI just got in the mail a birthday present from my sis..{do not open until the 14th :)} and that was the best thing I've gotten lately and totally a surprise! pick me as one of the lucky 11!

I would love to find a fat quarter bundle of Rouenneries by French General in my mail box, but I would happily take an envelope of great selvages!!
ReplyDeleteI love packages in my mailbox (and I have a good sized mailbox to accomodate them!) - fabric, patterns, books - those are my top choices. I LOVE SELVAGES and I have since I was a little girl (and that was a LONG time ago!). I have been saving mine but I'm not quite sure what I want to make with them yet. The postcard is pretty cute.
ReplyDeletelove to see the things they make out of selvages. One thing I have never saved. lindagerig@sbcglobal.net
ReplyDeletelooks like a fun project... the selvege postcard thingie!
ReplyDeleteI love getting recipe cards in the mail. I used to get them from my mom & cousin & aunt & friend (we did a swap), it was so fun!

I love to find hand-written letters. I love when people have taken the time out of their day to write me one. It makes my heart melt.
ReplyDeletenotes and artwork from the grandchildren. i love children's artwork stuck on my fridge.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to find some cards and/or letters from my friends and family. Everything has gotten so electronic these days, and I miss the "old time" handwritten letters from the past...
ReplyDeleteI love to receive personalized notes and letters. They come so seldom anymore with e-mails being so easy to send.
ReplyDeleteI love all the gorgeous colors in the selvages and I am so glad that people are using them in such clever ways.
I love to get fabric in the mail and blocks from the swaps I have joined.
ReplyDeleteI love to find fabric in my mailbox and also handwritten notes!mpulley@chatmosscable.com
ReplyDeleteFabrics of all kinds of course.
ReplyDeletelsandes@comcast.net
I've always thought it would be fun to be one of those people that buys things and then forgets and when they come in the mail it is a big surprise. Too bad when I buy things I anticipate them coming so they are never a surprise. So I guess what I am trying to say is that I would love a surprise package in the mail!
ReplyDeleteOh I never get mail. My husband gets 100 envelopes per day. Today I got a piece that looked like trash and it was a $7.88 bill for my mammogram. I would love to get an envelope full of 5" selvages. I would turn right around and mail them to my special friend in NH. She is in love with selvages!
ReplyDeleteThanks!
I look forward to my birthday each year when my sister sends me my birthday gift. I never expect what she sends, it's always a fabulous surprise. I would also love to get selvedge's in the mail! That would be terrific!
