It's Good to Be Back

This is what I look like after traveling.
This my friends....is the Panama Canal.
Absolutely amazing what they created.
There are two passageways through it.
The canal was on my dad's
'Kick the Bucket' list.
He's a hard one to make future plans with, because jokingly he always says, "I may not be here next year." I have lived with that response for 20 years.
He's had a tough year -- cancer surgery & fell and broke his shoulder.
So this was kind of last minute, but I decided to go & take the girls.
I really didn't know exactly where we were going -- I knew Panama but didn't have time to look. Had to worry about everything we needed to take.
So I was a little surprised when we were cruising by Cuba, Haiti, Columbia and Venezuela. I thought Costa Rica was closer to Mexico.
No, it's in Central America. I know all of you knew that.
ahhhh....Aruba.
Yep, this was Thanksgiving Day.
I love the beach. Warm water, warm sun,
no I'm not trying to rub it in, just reporting. :-)
Curacao.
Lots of shopping.
Weather was fabulous, we really lucked out during the trip.
It was overcast some days, so that made it bearable.
The cruise ship has a private island in the Bahamas.
I would like a private island.
It's good to be back...or is it?
Eating anything I want anytime I want -- hot & ready.
Used to someone cleaning my room & making my bed....nice.

The zipline in Costa Rica. Sweating to death, but so fun.

It really was a trip of a lifetime.

Thanks to my sweet husband. He's amazing. Yes, he's planning for a 'man trip'. That'll be great, could you take the boys too :-).
He wanted to keep the store open while I was gone. Not sure if he really knew what he was in for. So whether you knowingly, or unknownly dealt with him the past two weeks, thank you for being so sweet.
He was basking in the positive feedback yesterday. Had to make sure I saw it all. There were a couple of little hiccups, but everyone was so great. Thank you.

  1. I'm so glad you decided to go, because even without cancer, we never really know how much time we have with our loved ones.

  3. Very cool. Great pics. That's the first picture where I think your girls really look like sisters. The one where they're in grey.

I'm really happy you could go.

  4. It looks like it was a fabulous trip. It is always tough to come back to reality. Yes, hubby did an awesome job. I'd keep him around a bit longer. ;)

  8. I"m so glad that you went! Not because it was beautiful and the weather was amazing, but because you spent quality time with your dad. What I wouldn't give to be able to take just one more trip with my dad. God bless you all!

  10. I'd love to see the Panama Canal. I just saw a documetary about it the other day. They are building a new canal, one that will fit all the bigger ships. Did you know a ship will pay around $200,000.00 to cross through the canal?

Sounds like you had a great trip. I ordered a couple of things this past month and they got here super fast!
