Still working on my spiderweb blocks.
Will I ever see the end?
I love making them so much,
it doesn't matter.
Doing a little demo on these blocks
with a local quilt group this week. I'm using tutorials from Quiltville,
Quilt It, and Oh Fransson.
Have you tried one yet?

Those spiderweb blocks look amazing and I love the fabrics! I'm hoping to try this block in the holidays, when I have some more time.
ReplyDeleteI tried one...it was such a hot mess, that I didn't try again. (and I bought a ruler just to make those!) What is the brown paper for?
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! A spiderweb quilt is on my "to make" list, but I have a lot of projects to get done before I can start it.
ReplyDeleteI didn't use a ruler at all. The brown paper is for the foundation. You glue your 'kite' piece to it and then sew your strips on the paper. The Quiltville link will show you how.
ReplyDeleteGene: I actually only sew through the brown paper for the first ring, or blue strips, in my case. Then I just sew random strips on each side and then use the brown paper to line up and cut the big triangle shape. Read through those links, they each do it just a tad differently and following them, I was able to come up with my own preference. It's totally worth it. And super fun and easy once you figure it out.
It is the one quilt on my to do list. I love them and yours is wonderful. I really like the blue dotted fabric around the red.
ReplyDeleteoh my! lovely! love the pink floral you used, most spiderweb quilts I have seen use a solid, yours is awesome, good job, I have yet to try one!
ReplyDeleteI would LOVE to make one! Just can't seem to justify putting it in front of my other 20 WIPs! Egad. Surely I'll live to be a hundred?
ReplyDeleteHoly smokes you've done it again! You have to stop this quilt making stuff before my to-do list gets 7 miles long. I'm still working on vintage baby quilt #2 and I can blame you for at least 4 more quilts I want to make. They look awesome!
ReplyDeleteGreat spiderweb blocks! That is something I have to try!
ReplyDeleteit's going to be fabulous! love looking at all the little pieces. i should have done that exchange.
ReplyDeleteLove the spiderweb block! It was late Grandmother's favorite! What is the red floral 'focus' fabric?
ReplyDeleteI just love those! They look so complicated in the finished product!! Beautiful! I haven't tried one yet, I really am starting to get the bug to get back to sewing and quilting, I have to make some time to get away from my laptop!
ReplyDeleteRed Focus fabric is:
ReplyDeleteDarcey by Anna Griffin.
Delicious!!
I love how colorful yours are! And isn't it great to have a fun project that you can keep plugging away on, just enjoying the process?
