Congrats to Fern #10!
A little Wee Woodland will be coming your way.
School shopping went well.
I'm liking those little Caboodle mechanical pencils.
Cute & functional.
Is it Thursday already??
My days are flying by too fast.
Hop to It!
I keep wanting to type
Wonderland,
but it is
W- o- o- d- l- a- n- d.
It's a great mix of colors.
A new collection from Keiki.
We've got jelly rolls, layer cakes, charm squares,
flannel & some yardage on etsy & eBay.
To enter the drawing for a charm pack or 2 half yards,
leave a comment about whether you like
mechanical pencils
or
a regular yellow one.
Off to the store for school supplies....
Random drawing later tonight.
I love regular wooden pencils if the lead or wood part is smooth lol. I don't like them if it feels rough. These fabrics are gorgeous. I love the colors!
ReplyDeleteI prefer the regular yellow one. Just feels diffrent in your hand. Lovely give away, this is great fabric!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely mechanical pencils for me!!! I hate having to sharpen the regular yellow types...I know this sounds strange, but it gives me the creeps!
ReplyDeleteI prefer regular wooden pencils! Greetings from Slovakia :-)
ReplyDeleteMechanical for me- no doubt!
ReplyDeleteMechanical all the way. Love the clicky noise!
ReplyDeleteGive me a normal wooden pencil anyday and I'm a happy gal - I always seem to snap the lead easily on those mechanical pencils!
ReplyDeleteMechanical pencils for me but I do adore sharpening pecils - so satisfying!!!
ReplyDeleteGill
I prefer the wooden pencil but the kids in my sons class all use the mechanical ones. Gorgeous fabric, looks like a Wee Woodland Wonderland!
ReplyDeleteI am a mechanical pencil girl, if I used regular pencils I would be constantly sharpening them to get the point I want!
ReplyDeleteRegular .... it's so satisfying to sharpen them.
ReplyDeleteThe yellow one definitely. There's nothing nicer than that just sharpened point hitting the paper. The fabric is lovely!
ReplyDeleteI love the fabric! I love yellow pencils!!!!!! But they have to have sharp points! Sometimes I use the black wood one too! Thanks for the chance!
ReplyDeleteMechanical ones, as I can't ever find my sharpener for the standard ones. I can't believe it's time for back to school shopping already!!
ReplyDeleteDef the mechanical one--then I don't have to keep sharpening! Love these fabrics!
ReplyDeleteMechanical, usually, but there's something special about a freshly sharpened yellow pencil.
ReplyDeleteMMmm., fabric is fall, my fav time of year...woodland it is...now pencils, mechanical, to the point I wear them out..I have been using PHD brand so much so that Paper Mate knows me by name for ordering so many. So what was your POINT? for knowing that...lol
ReplyDeletegreat questions always..blessings msamm
I like the yellow one..but what I really like is a soft artist pencil, or maybe a General's Sketch and Wash. I discovered artist pencils when I got into painting and now I love them best.
ReplyDeletei like mechanical pencils, they write so much smoother and clearer. thanks

I like wood ones........ I love the smell when you sharpen them. It brings back fond memories of my youth... :)
ReplyDeleteMechanical - hand down! No need to search for the sharpener.
ReplyDeleteI definitely prefer the regular No. 2 pencil. I actually don't like the mechanical ones at all. Fourth graders can spend an inordinate amount of time refilling, finding lead, etc. etc.!
ReplyDeleteOh, I love this fabric and would love to win a charm pack! I prefer the wooden pencils only because it reminds me of when I was young and lots of happy memories. Thanks for the chance!
ReplyDeleteI am a mechanical pencil kinda girl. I love the always sharp tip.
ReplyDeleteDon't use pencils much, but when I do, I prefer the regular ones...but only if they're sharpened. Thanks for the chance!
ReplyDeleteI always use a wooden pencil. Love the way it smells coming out of the sharpener. I use a mechanical pencil when I travel so I always have a sharp point!
ReplyDeleteI actually despise mechanical pencils because they always seem to break -- not just the lead but the pencil itself. You go to write, and the lead pushes back inside. I do prefer the regular pencils -- but I also like them to be a color other than yellow. Oh, goodness, who knew I was so passionate about such a subject as pencils! LOL.
ReplyDeleteI prefer mechanical pencils. The fabrics are so yummy!
ReplyDeleteNancy E
I like wooden pencils better, but it's so hard to get a good sharpener any more. I remember in elementary school there was a good quality sharpener bolted to the wall of every classroom...I wish I had one of those in my house because I've converted to mechanical pencils simply to have a good point on the lead when I write. Thanks for a chance to win!
ReplyDeleteI like both ^^
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance.
Yellow wooden pencils are awesome! These fabrics are soooo cute!
ReplyDeleteI love the yellow wooden pencils! Brings me back to my younger days!!!
ReplyDeleteTracy Dawson
dawson.tracy35@yahoo.com
I used to use the mechanical one when I was in school, they last longer and I only had to carry 1 of them with me. Now that I don't need to tote pencils around I prefer the yellow wooden ones because the lead doesn't break as easily. Thanks for the giveaway!!!
ReplyDeleteha! I read the title and immediatley inserted "wonderland" and didn't realize it until you pointed it out. I love mechanical pencils but only the .5's I can't stand anythgin thicker
ReplyDeleteI love just the plain yellow ones
ReplyDeleteThese days I'm into mechanical, but just because I discovered Jetpens just yesterday and have been droooooling over some of those Japanese beauties... (http://www.jetpens.com/).
ReplyDeleteThanks for the woodland wonderland :-)

regular yellow.
ReplyDeleteSee, I've been mechanical pencil for a long time, but lately I'm going old school with the #2.
ReplyDeleteI'm a mechanical pencil kind of gal...been that way forever. It drives me crazy to have to sharpen pencils otherwise...probably from fears of when I was little to get up from class and sharpen at front of teacher's desk with all eyes on me. Oh how I hated that.
ReplyDeletethis fabric is SOOOO cute!!!!
ReplyDeleteI personally prefer yellow pencils, while I am not a fan of sharpening them I do not break them as often. Mechanical lead is just to weak for my strong hands ;)
Great fabric! I like mechanical pencils.
ReplyDeleteI used to be a mechanical pencil lover, but have gone back to regular wood pencils and now don't know how I ever went the other way. I can't stand how the lead breaks on mechanicals.
ReplyDeleteMechanical...always sharp and ready to go!!!
ReplyDeleteLove this fabric!!! (dmifflin@netrover.com)
Definitely mechanical for me, I don't have to search for the pencil sharpener.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely mechanical, but with #2 thick lead in it :)
ReplyDeleteAnd oh how I love the blues :)
candy at fiber dot net
Susch cute, cute fabrics.
ReplyDeleteI am a regular yellow one because I always break the leads in my mechanicals.
I prefer mechanical. And I love this cute fabric.
ReplyDeleteI prefer pens ... lol. But if it has to be a pencil, then a good sharp #2 regular pencil - made from real wood is my preference. I like the black ones - I think they're called Mirado or something like that :)
ReplyDeleteDefinitely mechanical for me!
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely regular yellow pencils. But I am outnumbered around my house by all the mechanical pencil lovers.
ReplyDeleteOops! Sorry, I screwed up and forgot my email address. For some reason, I do not like mechanical pencils. I love good old yellow ones, but only if they are very sharp. I can't stand dull ones. Picky aren't I? Love the fabric!
ReplyDeletekeels@mvdsl.com
Good ole #2 wood pencil for me please. I really, really dislike mechanical ones for some reason. Marla mkb68@swbell.net
ReplyDeleteMechanical. For sure.
ReplyDeleteYellow ones with nice sharp points!
ReplyDeleteI used to love colored pencils, back when I designed quilts on a graph pad. But since using the EQ computer programs, I no longer find a use for them.
ReplyDeleteI do like a GOOD yellow pencil......complete with add-on eraser !
Thanks for entering me in your giveaway !
I'd have to say that I prefer mechanical pencils when I'm crafting. This is probably because they are easier to erase & I make so many 'adjustments' when I'm planning something.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway - I love the turtle's giant shell :)
Absolutely, a plain old pencil. I hate constantly fixing the lead on a mechanical pencil, and when a regular pencil breaks I get the satisfaction of sharpening it!
ReplyDeleteI like mechanical pencils because you always get a nice sharp point :) But "real" pencils feel sturdier to me, so there's a trade off.
ReplyDeleteI good, smooth writing No. 2 pencil makes me happy! But mine are Black Warriors and not yellow. lol
ReplyDeleteKim
kimrward@charter.net
I love regular pencils, I like sharpening them and wearing them down! I HATE mechanical pencils, the nib always breaks for me!
ReplyDeleteI prefer a good ole' #2 pencil. I press too hard for mechanical pencils, the lead always breaks.
ReplyDeleteI would love to have the charm pack!!
I like mechanical pencils best, because you don't have to get up and sharpen them.
ReplyDeletemeaculpa115@yahoo.com
Mechanical all the way! I especially like the white background piece. Thanks Corrie.
ReplyDeleteI live mechanical for writting on paperr, but the old fashioned #2 for writting and tracing for quilting.
ReplyDeleteI love the charm packs, It would make a very cute quilt.
Prefer the yellow regular pencils, until I drop them, then I should just stick with mechanical pencils.
ReplyDeleteThat's a tough question, I like both. I like the feel of a regular pencil but I also like the 'always sharp' of a mechanical pencil. But if I was forced to choose, I'd say mechanical.....I think.
ReplyDeleteI still love ozz by the same designer. so cute!
ReplyDeletecan i say both? i use both alot. i don't think i prefer one over the other.
ReplyDeletebtw, CUTEST fabric EVER! i loved keiki's tweet tweet, and now this!
i prefer regular #2 pencils...but not nearly as much as those striped fabrics!!
ReplyDeleteThere is nothing better than the sharp point on a brand new, all wood, number 2, yellow pencil. Oh the things my mind thinks to write!! Like, designing a new table topper with the charm squares! Thanks for the giveaway! As always you guys have a great site!!
ReplyDeleteglendaoz72@yahoo.com
I'm all about mechanical because the yellow pencil erases break off too easily! There are few things more annoying as a yellow pencil with no eraser!
ReplyDeleteGive me agood old yellow HB pencil please!
ReplyDeleteCute fabrics.
Carolyn
I hate mechanical pencils. And no, that's not too strong a word. I ALWAYS break them and the lead falls out...every, single, time!
ReplyDeleteIt seems like everyone has an opinion on this one...can I say that I have no preference? If I can find a writing tool in my house, I use it. Pen, pencil (mechanical or wooden), marker, hi-lighter, sometimes even a crayon.
ReplyDeleteI'm more than happy drawing or writing with both! However, the portablility of having a mechanical pencil and not having to sharpen it weighs out on the go! ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway!
I must say that if I had the choice I would choose a wooden pencil. I like the way it feels to hold a #2 when I write. I even like having to sharpen them. The only bad thing about them is when the eraser is gone and you're only half way done with the pencil. Thanks for the Thursday fun and cute fabric.
ReplyDeletespackattak7 at hotmail dot com
Good old dependable (assuming I have a sharpener on hand) yellow one :)
ReplyDeleteI like mechanical pencils. cute fabric. linda gerig
ReplyDeleteHi! I prefer the old yellow ones!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing a neat Giveaway!
Blessings,Linda
jldouglas@wispwest.net
I am a mechanical pencil kind of girl. Love that fabric!
ReplyDeleteMechanical pencils are so cool, but I wind up losing the lead. So, I mostly use the regular yellow #2 kind.
ReplyDeleteThis fabric is darling! Sure would like to have some to make a gift for a cousin's new baby boy!
What a wonderful new collection. At home, there is nothing like a newly sharpened #2 yellow pencil. Outside the house, a mechanical is the best.
ReplyDeleteI dislike yellow pencils with a passion to be honest.
ReplyDeleteLove the fabric, amazing!
Hands down, mechanical pencils. Save the trees for the woodland creatures - ha ha ha!!
ReplyDeleteMechanical all the way! I love a sharp pointy pencil. If I use the yellow ones I am constantly sharpening them to get that beloved point :)
ReplyDeleteOoh I love this fabric!
ReplyDeleteI love both, but I am too "uptight" of a writer/sketcher and I break the dainty lead in a mechanical pencil, so old school yellow it is for me.
*squee!* Those animals are so adorable!
ReplyDeletePencil preference - old fashioned wooden pencils. There's just something about them that make anything you do seem "real." I just bought myself a new wooden pencil from Office Depot last night, except it's not yellow -- it's black (with blackened wood core), and instead of an eraser it has a pretty jewel glued on top.
Mechanical pencils is my choice. I like the ones with a heavier lead in them. Thanks for the chance to win!
ReplyDeleteMechanical pencils: always pointy!
ReplyDeleteI am all about the mechanical pencil! I only use normal pencils if I have no other choice, they drive me nuts!
ReplyDeletei absolutely love mechanical pencils...since i don't have one of those old school house pencil sharpeners, i don't want to sharpen a pencil any other way...mechanical....rocksssss....
ReplyDeleteI love mechanical pencils...they are always sharp & have extra lead.
ReplyDeleteI like the yellow. Just sad that the eraser always wears out to soon. The fabric is darling.
ReplyDeleteRegular yellow wooden pencils! Freshly sharpened. Love it!
ReplyDeleteregular for me. The eraser and lead never last long in the mechanical ones for me, although it is entertaining to click!
ReplyDeleteannemolino at hotmail dot com
Hmmmm it's a difficult question for me, because I like both of them, I'm always using a pencil, but when I like to write with different shapes then I use the mechanical pencil!!!
ReplyDeleteoh... it has to be a good old yellow number two wooden pencil! Nothing smells better than a freshly sharpened #2 :)
ReplyDeleteI prefer a regular pencil however not a yellow one, rather one with sparkles and a dog head wearing a tiara stuck on the eraser end.
ReplyDeletePretty fancy eh?
that's just how I roll :)
Mechanical pencils are the best. Wee Woodland is pretty wonderful also.
ReplyDeleteDue to the lack of adequate pencil sharpeners (cause nothing bothers me more than a dull pencil), I prefer mechanical pencils. :o)
ReplyDeleteI am all about regular old HB #2's!! I love a newly sharpened point (OCD leftover from childhood) and the way it feels in my hand as well as in my head (if I'm writing, I feel like an author, if I'm tracing I'm an artist)
ReplyDeleteI love mechanical pencils since they are always sharp. I was a math major in college and always needed a sharp pencil at hand.
ReplyDeleteMechanical pencils give a nice clean line. I give them to my second graders. Happy teacher.
ReplyDeleteI'm such a school supply nerd! My favorite kind of pencil is a Dixon Ticonderoga #2!
ReplyDeleteWee Woodland is outrageously adorable. I actually dislike pencils and always have. I press too hard and have always snapped the lead. Give me a nice gel pen anyday.
ReplyDeleteI love the good old #2 with a nice sharpened point. love this line of fabric too!
ReplyDeleteI've always preferred the mechanical pencils.
ReplyDeletemy kids love mechanical but i love them both
ReplyDeleteI love the wooden pencil, but here in Aussie they're red not yellow :) Barb.
ReplyDeletei'm a wooden pencil person. i keep a bunch of them in a container on my desk along with a small round sharpener. thanks for this great giveaway!
ReplyDeleteMechanical pencil. Things need to be nice and sharp when I write them.
ReplyDeleteI like mechanical pencils. The point is always sharp. You don't have to always be looking for a pencil sharpner.
ReplyDeleteMechanical for SURE! I hate, hate, hate having to sharpen pencils!
ReplyDeletei am a traditional wooden gal
ReplyDeleteI am so partial to mechanical. I like the softer lead that's used in them and NO sharpening.....
ReplyDeletePeggy in NJ
I have never been able to find a good sharpener so I prefer mechanical pencils. I have assorted lovely color pencils and when I sharpen them the wood always snaps and a bit of the color pencil comes out. Arrgghh!
ReplyDeleteMary in WI
a very sharp yellow wooden pencil.
ReplyDeleteI use both but prefer a good old fashioned yellow one. Something so sturdy about it. They take a good sharp point. I always stock up this time of year and have a couple of mason jars full.
ReplyDeleteI love regular pencils. Great fabric.
ReplyDeleteI like the regular yellow pencil. Don't know why!
ReplyDeleteCount me in on your giveaway - such cute stuff!
ltenhage@gmail.com
I prefer old fashioned number 2 quality yellow pencils with a good eraser and sharp point. I'm a "mathy" geek and now a sudoku junky. I need the wee woodlands yardage fabric to make a happy baby quilt. Cross my fingers for a prize!
ReplyDeleteI like the regular yellow ones. I keep breaking the lead in the other kind and end up with tiny little pieces that won't stay in the pencil.
ReplyDeleteOh what a cute line of fabric.
ReplyDeleteI so much more prefer the old fashioned yellow pencil. Love to sharpen them ...;)
I like the mechanical ones because I don't have to sharpen them. Love the fabric.
ReplyDeletelsandes@comcast.net
I like the mechanical pencils because they keep a finer line longer and are easy to reload--I don't like to sharpen!
ReplyDeleteSuch cute fabric. I prefer mechanical pencils.
ReplyDeleteCute fabric! I insist on using the old fashioned yellow pencils. I press too hard when I write and the lead on the mechanical ones (we always called them eversharps) always breaks on me. My students at school always had mechanical ones and thought my regular pencils were as out-of-date as cassette tapes.
ReplyDeletePersonally I love a good ol' yellow pencil! I find the mechanical ones break too often and I never quite know when I'm about to run out of lead.
ReplyDeleteLove love love the Wee Woodland - it's awesome!
I only use mechanical pencils. I love that I can click new lead into place without having to fight a pencil sharpener to try to evenly sharpen a wooden pencil. ;) dsb448@att.net
ReplyDeleteYellow #2 Pencils for me. I write too hard to use the mechanical ones. I loooove this collection. hotquilter7@yahoo.com
ReplyDeleteThis is a funny question! I love both for different tasks... at home it is the old fashioned pencil that needs to be ultra sharp but at work I prefer my very, very special mechanical pencil.
ReplyDeletemicheletimms(at)gmail(dot)com
weird question, but great giveaway!!
ReplyDeleteold school- plain old yellow...
I love mechanical pencils - German made ones in fun colours are the best ... and I also have a soft spot for unpainted ecologically "green" pencils. The unpainted wood feels nice in your hand ... Thank you for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteMechanical pencils seem like such a luxury to me. I guess I'm old school...#2 yellow. You can't go wrong with that!
ReplyDeleteRegular yellow please.
ReplyDeleteLove those #2 yellow pencils. The fabric is so cute.
ReplyDeleteDonna
dsharper258@msn.com
Definitely the old fashioned yellow wooden pencil. They just smell so nice when you sharpen them, and you can get a really sharp point, always important.
ReplyDeleteOh definitely after my metalsmithing & design background in college I would have to choose mechanical pencils; the lines are just so precise (and easy to erase!).
ReplyDeleteIt depends on what I'm doing, I like the precision of the mechanical but I like the softness of the pencil, so I choose both! Love the colors in that material, and that turtle!! So cute :)
ReplyDeleteYellow pencils.........love the sharpened point makes everything sharp and crisp and when I was a kid ........it was always an excuse to get out of my chair and wander around for a bit.........
ReplyDeleteYellow old fashioned pencils for sure! But the good quality ones! and really sharp too. Not messy. (I'm a teacher, so I have "higher" standards! *wink*)
ReplyDeleteAnd today is my birthday! so maybe my luck will turn out today and I may win one of your giveaway! That would be neat!!! thanks!
