My favourite costume was the first one I sewed for my oldest son and it was superman! That was a long.....time ago as he 34 years old now!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite costume was when my mom sewed me a green m&m costume in 2nd grade. I felt pretty special that my costume was homemade and not bought from the store! :)
ReplyDeleteMy favourite costume is the one I wear everyday. Both my children think I am scary (but they love me anyway).
ReplyDeleteI loved the costumes I have made this year! Two mermaids and an octopus! Can't wait to post pics of them!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite was when I made my whole family matching "Incredibles" T-shirts. We had the perfect number of people in our family to pull it off that year. :o) Good memory.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite was when I dressed my 10 year old daughter in a throw-away (disposable) yellow hospital gown, threw a surgical cap on her, and faded her freckles with foundation and drew big circles under her eyes. She wore a surgical mask (the kids that you see folks wearing during flu scares). What was she? She was "Contagious"! (When folks asked what she was, she would moan, and stagger and say "I'm contagious!" LoL - this was swine flu scare last year. Hehe) It was free, because I use these materials at the place I worked at the time, and they said I could take them. If I had paid, it might have cost me $5 total. Awesome costume, so much fun! Everyone loved it! Hehe! - Jody Edwards
ReplyDeleteTo be honest I have no idea :( we don't really celebrate Halloween in Australia unfortunately but when I was little and we lived in Amerika I had a pumpkin costume!
ReplyDeleteMy son had a fabulous pumpkin costume when he was around 8 (ten years ago so it doesn't fit him now!)
ReplyDeleteIt looked really great with his red hair
Gill
When I was preschool age, I was a devil. Full red body suit, trident, and a tail! Actually I think I was a little embarrassed running around as a red devil! Thanks, Mom!
ReplyDeletemy favorite and most memorable costume was the year i was king kong. yeah, i was cool. all wrapped in store bought, cheap-o plastic outfit...
ReplyDeleteMy favorite costume was the bunny costume I made for my oldest son--so totally adorable. He wore it for two years, and my other two sons wore it as well, so well worth the time making it! They still remember that outfit and they're 32, 30 and 26 now!!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite costume was when my brother and I were little... I was Minnie and he was Mickey!
ReplyDeleteThe vampire is very scary!
ReplyDeleteI have so many favorite costumes. But I loved the gypsy skirt that my great grandmother made me one year for halloween! I got to wear her beads and bangles too! What fun.
Thanks for the giveaway.
My favorite costume was the ladybug costumes that my 2 daughters and I dressed up as one year! Very fun!
ReplyDeleteThanks for a chance to win!
when we were kids Mom made the three of us into these pumpkins-all hand made of course, I remember being so "fat" we could hardly walk-lol
ReplyDeletemy favorite costume was one of Frodo (Lord of the Rings) I made for my son when he was 4. Complete with the one ring, Elvish cape and hobbit feat (which I sewed fake hair into). I LOVE that costume!!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite costume was a robot costume that I put together my self in junior high. I had a set of flashing lights that ran in a circle when I hit the switch. It was a science project kit from Radio Shack. This was a few years ago when something like that was not readily available.
ReplyDeleteI loved pushing the button in my pocket and making the lights go -I had placed them in the head of the costume so they were above my forehead.
I found a beautiful vintage prom dress (pale blue with sparkles and beading) for $10 at the thrift store. Then I hit the grocery store, bought myself a bag of green peas. TA-DAH! The princess and the pea!! I love dumb puns. Yes, I handed out peas all night along with the candy.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway.

My favorite costume was a cat costume I made for my daughter out of gray fake fur material. Boy, does that stuff shed all over the house cause it's light and fluffy! I was so glad to be done!!!
ReplyDeleteLast year my husband and I went as Mac and PC. It was a fun one and easy!
ReplyDeleteWe already have our work group costume idea for next year. We work with a company that helps other companies get incorporated in our state, helps smaller companies get started, and does other company service operations. We decided to all dress up as monsters and say "we heard about this monster´s inc and we´d like to get in on that deal" :)
ReplyDeletemy favorte costume was a clown one.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite was costumes my friend made for my son and daughter. They were Raggedy Ann and Andy. Too cute to spook. Phyllis
ReplyDeleteMy favorite costume was Raggedy Ann that a lady in our church made for me about 18 yrs ago. I still have it today. As a matter of fact, I'm trying to get my daughter to wear it this year for Halloween. It still looks brand new. But, of course, she won't have anything to do with it. That's life. :)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite was the monkey (daughter) and organ grinder (son)costumes I made for my daughters first Halloween (by the way she will be 25 next month!).
ReplyDeleteI'm just not into Halloween. BUT, once when I was required to dress up, I went as Martha Stewart=made a huge double-sided recipe card (it was poster boards, hinged at the shoulders and draped down over my clothes) and I told everyone that I was a "good thing".
ReplyDeleteI like cute costumes, things that are not scary for other children. I think my favorite was a pumpkin - since I love them, you can't go wrong there...mind you they do nothing for your figure, but they's so cute!
ReplyDeleteWhen my twins were 18 mos old, one of them came across a duck costume in a local drugstore and went crazy over it. He was absolutely thrilled every time he got to wear it. He took his role seriously and quacked and flapped his wings whenever anyone commented on his costume. The padded butt make him look like he really waddled when he walked. Too cute... such fun memories!
ReplyDeleteOne year I was a hershey's kiss--silver lame, complete with the "hersheys kiss" tear strip atop the head and a triangular bodice so big I could barely get my arms out of it. Oh man, what was I thinking? And I wore it in public!!
ReplyDeleteI think the best Halloween costume would have to be my son's that his daddy made for him this year!!! NO, I am not bias or anything because he is my hubby and all--but hey this costume is cute!!! You should go see it...http://joyineverythingthruhim.blogspot.com/2010/10/thank-yous.html:)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite costume was the year I sewed the Flinstones for my son and his friends across the street. DS was Fred. Sarah was Wilma. John was Barney. It was so much fun! DS actually wore out his first costume before Halloween. I had to make him a second. Happy Halloween!
ReplyDeleteMy little girl has been a pumpkin and it was so gosh darn cute with the pumpking top for the hat and her little curls poking out.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite costume was when my daughter was young and I made her a Raggedy Ann costume. Turned out adorable!!! I still have the pattern!:)
ReplyDeleteorr20004@msn.com
My favorite Halloween costume was the year I dressed up as a laundry basket. Simple, yet innovative. I took one of my mother's square laundry baskets, but a whole in the middle large enough for my midsection. Slipped it over my mead resting on my hips and filled it with clothes. Perfection, everywhere I went people commented on the originality!
ReplyDeleteI made a dinosaur costume for my oldest son many years ago. My younger boys wore it as well, and I think I still might have it around here, waiting for grandchildren to wear....... :)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite costume ever - and it would be especially appropriate this year - was made by a friend of mine. He took large trash bags, the black-green ones, and cut them into long strips, attached them to another bag which he put over himself, and went as an oil slick! He even managed to put a funnel on his head with strips oozing down over it. It was fabulous!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite costume was one I made for my daughter - the beautiful yellow ball gown from Beauty and the Beast!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite costume was when my sister and I dressed up as twin dice! Made for some funny pictures and home videos!
ReplyDeleteBecca (craftydonnelly@gmail.com)
My favorite was the princess dress my mom made for me when I was in 3rd grade.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite costume is one I haven't made for my son...yet. I want so badly for him to be a garden gnome, but I have to wait until he is old enough to not pull off the beard. Happy Halloween!
ReplyDeletemy son just up and wanted to be Michael Jackson last year and he looked good!! He could even dance as good as him lol
ReplyDeleteI must have been 10 when I dressed up as a gypsy. It was a special costume because my mom had let me wear one of her big medallion necklaces and it matched my outfit perfectly!
ReplyDeletehmm i rarely dress up in halloween, but last year i was a 50's housewife with a big circle skirt, button down shirt, pearl necklace, and an apron i made myself, and i carried around with me a pair of oven mitts to complete the look, lol! thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite costume was wearing my dad's hunting overalls and being a deer hunter. Not because it was a cool costume, but because it is the first year I remember being warm while trick or treating :)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite costumes for Halloween were Vampire costumes! We dressed my son in a white shirt & black pants, made a cape out of some black fabric I had, and did his makeup. What makes it my favorite is that we also dressed up my son's stuffed mouse as a Vampire, with teeth & a cape & everything.

It was fun for a while, but got hot quickly!! Luckily I wore black leotards underneath and was able to change to a black cat instead. Ha!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Halloween costume was a homemade Snow White costume that my Mom made just for me! I wish I still had it!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Halloween costume is the Piglet costume that has been worn by 6 of my children and will be worn by my 7th this year! Next year, we'll be Prince Charming, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and I think that will be my new favorite.

ReplyDeleteMy favorite costume as a child was a black cat. I was a black cat at least 3 times growing up.
ReplyDeletekeri.boyette@gmail.com
The costume is about 20 years old now. For my daughter's 2nd Halloween, I made her a costume. She was an ear of corn. It turned out great and we got so many compliments. About 10 years ago my brother's friend's little girl wore it in a costume contest. I think she even won a prize.

we didn't do Halloween much as a kid...so I can't remember very many costumes. I do have a blackmail picture of me in a large white bunny costume. I might have liked it then, but based on the expression on my face, I'm not so sure! :)
ReplyDeletewe didn't do costumes or trick or treat when I was a kid. We lived too far out in the country. I have made up for it as I got older. No favorite costume, just love dressing up.

ReplyDeleteThanks for the awesome giveaway!

My favorite costume has got to be the one I wore the night I met my husband: girls gone wild caught on video girl. I wore a nude colored top with a cardboard censor sign over my chest, a pulled up top over that and Mardi Gras beads with a skirt and heals. I landed a great man that night too. Happy Halloween!

Of all the costumes I made for my kids (3 of them) my favorite was the Kermit the frog I made for my youngest when he was five. He was so cute, and won a prize in the Halloween Parade for his Kermit performance. But the best thing was last year when he donned green pants and t-shirt, and wore the slip on feet, gloves and headpiece from his original costume for a party... he's 26 years old!!!

ReplyDeleteOne year I dressed up as Pippi Longstocking. I used a wire hanger to make my hair stick straight out of the sides of my head.
I had a "I Dream of Jeannie" kick when I was little and so my mom made me a genie costume. It was pretty flashy and had way more belly showing than I would ever dare to show now!
ReplyDelete
